    As I have learned more information about the owner of “Scout Dixon West,” I no longer wish to support this brand.
    For an alternative to “Incarnate,” I recommend Vaniglia by Laborattivo Olfattivo

      Vaniglia (can’t find it) or Vanagloria? It don’t smell like Incarnate lmao… it has pineapple in one of the notes, how can it be an alternative? I already have it so I won’t be bullied into throwing a fragrance when it costed me 175$. I’m gonna use it and the best thing is I will get complimented and nobody will know my scent 🙂‍↕️

    I’m a biochem major and I never even thought about how the BP of the oils can effect what you smell and how that even applies to the pyramid. I feel so stupid now cause that makes sm sense. I wanted to go into cosmetic chemistry, and the first 3 min made me even more interested in formulating perfumes

      @Lizzymint Ahhh yes! Me too!
      I’ve been applying my perfumes.. esp the strong, beast mode ones - in the same manner. Spray it directly into my body cream/lotion filled hand, working it together in my hands then applying it all over. I’ve been doing this method for decades. Nice to know, we’re like-minded 😉
      I’m 57 and was gifted aromatics elixir by my Aunt when I was 22, it was her signature scent.
      When I was 13, I started wearing dabs of my large sample bottle, “Macassar” men’s fragrance.
      For being such a young girl, I had a love affair with all perfumes, and some were very mature and eclectic ones at that.. esp for a “child!” lol ,
      As a teen I wore Rive Gauche, No. 19, Cristalle, Opium, Ma Griffe, Quel Que Fleur, Jardins de Bagatelle, etc
      My tastes and collection are all over the board - for every day, time, season and mood!
      Hope you’re having a beautiful Sunday ✨🤍🌺

    Ive described myself my whole life as having "smell colorblindness". Because i cannot recognise smells for the life of me. I can tell theyre there, but i cant tell what they are.
    Theres nothing wrong with my nose... i feel like im just incapable to sort smells because i was never taught how to sort them. Kinda like how old texts describe the color of the sea as wine red? If you never learn orange exists, youre gonna call it yellow you know.

      @@kyonaharris8239 interesting. Because I have the same "smell blindness" and I was wondering if it has something to do with it connecting smells to something and with kind of mindfulness/awareness.
      I have the same problem with food. I can tell you if I like it or not, but I can't tell you if it's cherry or strawberry in the yogurt e.g. I was always told to just eat, don't question and just to do and just to follow what someone said. I mix it with a body cream but it still doesn’t last as long as I’d like it. Having a better base for it to work with would literally be amazing. This is coming from someone who doesn’t like deep and overpowering scents btw!

    Contrary to your recommendation (although you're correct), I sometimes spray on the front of my neck or the front of my upper body / décolleté - why? If I want to increase the enjoyment / perception of a scent for myself, but at the same time tone down how much people in my surrounding notice the fragrance, I find it convenient to do it this way.
    But I have to admit, doing this with something like Cuir Beluga would send me on the shortest route to a shower.

    The sillage is the trail of fragrance you leave as you move
    The top, heart and base pyramids are more to tell consumers than creators. Obviously there is fruity notes for example as top, mid or base note. So is Woody or any of the listed.
    Just cuz a note is listed doesn't mean it's in there of course. Like at all. And those that are actually natural are a collection of so many molecules that vary in boiling point. Natural sandalwood is a great example
    I have heard a lot that pulse points don't impact the projection as much as speculated because the body temperature is decreasing as the limps reach further from the torso. Even if you have a pulse point on the wrists.

      I’m stuck in the inexperience Middle Eastern fragrance world. I mostly own Lattafa fragrances. The house has so many great fragrances. As far as I know, none of the fragrances I own are dupes.
      If you like pineapple, I would recommend Lattafa’s Bade’e Al Oud Honor & Glory. It is an amazing fragrance. It is pineapple and spices.
      It is a unisex scent that male and female fragrance reviewers love. I have received compliments when I’ve worn it.
      If you decide to purchase it, let it macerate for at least a month. The first few sprays after it arrived were horrible. I couldn’t even tell that the scent was going to be wearable.🤢. After a month or more, I sprayed it and it was AMAZING!

      @@perfumerism I actually have no idea. But I think it's muglers death that makes me worried for the brand that lives on maybe losing a lot of the creative vision that used to be behind it. And I also read on this fragrantica site I love to stalk loreal got involved instead of clarins and they have been messing with the formula altho I have no way to verify if it's just gossip. But if it's true that sounds like a loss of creativity and uniqueness and quality and a huge embrace to overpriced mass marketed big target audience type stuff to me. This seems to correspond with the friendlier more crowd pleasing sweeter smelling concoctions they have released recently. Altho that could be the nose being the formulation changing too? I am not a total noob about perfumes, but this video sums up some great knowledge, I liked it, and also that you mentioned some perfumes (Incarnate was put into my I want it shelf immediately :) )

    That was a great informative video and I almost didn’t watch it! I thought it was just going to be the typical longevity video - and you did cover that, but so much more. Thank you.

    You're so lovely and a pleasure to watch. Your content is relevant and proven to be true. If I may, I'd kindly suggest you just to slow down a little, feel free to add few extra minutes so that your guidance can come out clearer;
    Great job overall

      Thank you, I totally agree! So funny, I didn’t expect this video to get views at all. I sat down and challenged myself to film this in under 10 minutes, and so this is why this video feels more rushed (it was). :)

    i'm commenting this a few times cuz i want you to see it... do a candle review video!! especially fragrance brands that have released candles, or just ones with interesting, nuanced, complex scents etc, and at different, esp affordable price points! pleasee!

    I loved this video. It was very informative and makes a lot of sense. Would you do a video on perfumes that you feel would fit into these different categories. Strong projection Vs weak or moderate? Strong vs weak vs moderate sillage etc ?

    Thank you so much Emma I learned an insane amount in such a short time span! ☺️ Could you explain what you mean by boiling point on the skin?

    • @perfumerism
      @perfumerism  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes. Boiling point for water is 100C, so we have to heat water to that point for the water to evaporate. For many aromachemicals, your body heat is warm enough to cause the oils to evaporate.

    Hello! I am so thankful I found your channel. It’s been super interesting and fun at the same time, but I have a weird question. While I was exploring your channel a few days ago, I remember watching a video that you made as a sequel to this one, but I can’t find it anymore. What happened to it? I was talking to my mom about it, and when I went to find it, it was gone. Am I going crazy or did something happen to the video? I don’t mean to be speculating; I was just trying to show it to my mom! Thanks, and seriously, I love your channel!
