Bon Monsieur is amazing!!! Unfortunate not many talk about Rogue Perfumery. Waiting for my bottles to come in, can't wait to go to work smelling like how a real man should
Best RUclips channel when it comes to fragrances . Watching your videos is a breath of fresh air in the ocean of teenage bubble gum overly sweet colognes reviewers. Once again you nailed it! Aromatic fougères are the best to my nose, refined and masculine at the same time. I can’t agree more with your selection. By the way I have all of these except for Nobile and if you say that it’s close ton Bon Monsieur who is one of the best of all time , I think Ima get a third backup bottle rather than risk to be jacked up by someone on Ebay … Thanks again for your great work. In between, there is a beautiful cheapy green juice by the name of Caractère by the brand Daniel Hechter. I live in France and it is easy to find right there. Let me know if you struggle to find it.
Good list Kelan but when you said "it's from the house of Houbigant", I thought for sure you were going to say Fougere Royale. That one would definitely be on my list. I even prefer it to Duc De Vervins. I would probably put both in my top 5 along with Enrico Coveri Pour Homme, Rive Gauche and maybe Pasha De Cartier if that one even qualifies. I'm new to barbershop fougere scents but after I smelled Fougere Royale, I started to seek out the ones that are highly recommended. I was inspired by you to try Duc De Vervins and I thank you for that recommendation. Oh i almost forgot, Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme. That would bump the Cartier out of my list.
Hi Kelan. I appreciate this video because I enjoy fougeres and because I own, and enjoy "Bon Monsieur" and you helped me appreciate it more than already. I've never tried Gucci "Nobile" but it's been a fragrance which I've been wanting to try very much, and now I know that "Bon Monsieur" is similar to it: that does help me. I still plan to get "Duc de Vervins L'Extreme" if, and when, the price for it gets very reduced. From Rogue Perfumery, I also enjoy "Fougere L'Aube" and "Mousse Illuminee". Have a good week. Greetings from Maryland.
Great line up, really appreciate all of your content. Any plans on doing your top pine fragrances? I picked up Polo green, and Loewe Esencia because of your recommendations, love them both but slightly favor LE. Thanks!
All excellent fragrances! I'm 54 now and have always appreciated these types the most... Even younger people comment on how great I smell, so it's hard for me to wrap my mind around the thought that the under 40 crowd somehow doesn't like these old style aromas. Cheers!
Oh cool! Rogue is such a cool house. Glad you grabbed that bottle. Curious if you've ever tried Houbigaunt's Fougere Royale. That's my king of top shelf Fougeres. Loved this vid. And glad you got the BDJ. I think BDJ is such a slept on terrific special occasion scent.
They pop up now and again at reasonable prices all things considered, it’s the huge 4.2oz bottles that go for the obscene price tags lol thank you for watching and commenting!
Awesome stuff mate. I missed the boat on Gucci Nobile back in the 90’s had it my hand but ended up with Gian Franco ferre , the original and thankfully got a back up bottle of it. Cheers.
Glad you like bon monsieur I love it. I can’t say I liked Viking however it was a very floral potpourri style scent and reminded me of this bathroom spray that was in my house growing up lol but that’s just me. Thank you for watching and commenting dude !
Excellent video, love your choices, and thanks for recommending the Rogue Perfumery option. My current high end choices include: MFK Masculin Pluriel Roja Parfums Scandal Zaharoff Signature Pour Homme Chanel Platinum Egoiste Tom Ford Beau de Jour Houbigant Duc de Vervins L' Extreme (thanks to you) Priorities for future sampling are Chanel Boy and, thanks to your recommendation, Rogue P. Bon Monsieur (along with Rogue's chypre scents). Cheers!
@@ScentsOfSouthJersey Bon Monsieur is on my to do list for 2023. However...I purchased Duc de Vervins l'Extreme this past February and, finally, Caesar's Man Legendary Cologne this past July - from reputable sellers on eBay. Both are awesome! Love the list 👏 ...I would remove Duc and sub in Bogner Deep Forest and you kind of doubled down on Nobile...Bon Monsieur is now on my radar, thanks Kelan!
What an amazing selection! My favourite aromatic fougeres are: Duc De Vervins L'Extreme (i only got this version, so I cannot make a comparison between it and the original), Eucris EDP (oakmoss nuclear bomb) and Tsar. Well done, my fragrance "brother in arms".
Duc original and L’extreme are both fantastic, it’s just a difference in green smell levels lol. Tsar is another all time classic and favorite of mine ! Thanks marco !

Nobile is really great, definitely reminds be of Lomani and Caesar's but very refined and clean, with a nice earthy base but never too dark like drakkar.
Great list! Totally agree with you about Zino by Davidoff. Bon Monsieur is in my top 3 of all time. I would also suggest Fougere L'Aube by Rogue Perfumery (#1 favorite) and Green Irish Tweed by Creed (#2 favorite).
I love your channel. I'm in love with Rive Gauche and Azzaro Pour homme vintage. I think it's masculine, clean with a classic touch but that can be used nowadays too.. if you have perfume tips in that same style, especially rive gauche thank you!!. I'll leave here a suggestion that surprised me, the perfume is called Eucris Edp. magnificent!!
I really enjoy your content Kelan! I'm at this point of my journey that I gravitate more towards classics. Excellent suggestions in this video. I have already added Bon Monsieur in my buying list after sampling it. I would also be curious to know your opinion on Rogue's Mousse Illuminee. I consider it the best modern alternative to Polo. I wish you well.
Good to see you back Kelan! Speaking of top shelf, you've absolutely got to try Eau de Minthe from Diptyque. It's an amazing fresh and clean fougere to own. I'm confident you'll love it as its often looked at as a high quality niche Drakkar Noir type DNA though a lot more vibrant and richer. It's been my go to everyday scent for the past two years and I can't stop reaching for it. My bottle is nearing on empty now which is rare in my collection as I use my fragrances sparingly. Definitely check it out bro. I'm sure you'll be thanking me afterwards lol. Cheers Kelan 🥂
Really nice video. I own two more modern fougeres that I've been enjoying a lot recently...Eau de Minthe by Dyptique and Sartorial by Penhaligons. I definitely recommend you check those out.
Eau de minthe I got a sample of, very similar to Drakkar noir / Gucci nobile so I’d get that if it were a great deal otherwise I’d just hold off for now
I couldn’t agree more! 3 of my top 10 fragrances are actually mentioned on the list. Beau de Jour, Rive Gauche and Gucci Nobile. I’m actually surprised because not many people mention Gucci Nobile on RUclips and it is a masterpiece. Love your channel, I’m a huge fougère lover. Greetings from Mexico ☺️

Equipage by Hermes is my favorite, but the old version, produced in the mid-90s and before. They might not be making it anymore. Once they took the oakmoss out, they killed it. This was my signature scent, and I'm so upset that it's gone.
