- This is The Last TISSOT PRX Powermatic 80 Review You Will have to watch... for today at least...
I recently bought this Tissot PRX and I think it is one of the best watches under a budget of 1000usd. Check out the video to know what makes me like this watch so much, but also its imperfections.

Even worse, not only did I already buy this watch a few weeks ago, but I’ve still been watching videos about the tissot prx basically every day
With all the new color releases there is a whole new wave of PRX videos, so even more content we have to consume🥲👍
@@TimeHeim bought 1 year ago, still watching. Full lume version just released... if it weren't rubber strap and quartz, I would totally buy that. and here is the kicker, I may still buy that full lume.
Sameeee 🙈
Same bro 😂😂
Haven’t bought one yet and I find myself watching videos about this watch everyday and if I buy one, it’s only gonna get worse.
The PRX really is one of the best watches under $1000. My wife bought me the blue dial auto version and I’m in love with it. I have a Rolex, Tudor and omega but still I wear the tissot frequently because it’s beautiful and durable.
i have already bought it and still watching videos on it
I got the Tissot Quartz PRX and I am very happy with it. It is a great looking 70's style watch that fits well, looks nice and is not over the top. You can wear this watch for any occasion or event because it looks good when you dress up like James Bond, or if you go casual wear.
I bought the PRX BLUE quartz because it feels and looks timeless and elegant and also would look good at an evening wear but the I feel like I regretted because my first choice was the green and seeing it in real life was so striking and beautiful but at the same time it chooses an outfit to wear unlike the blue so I ended up getting the blue so my heart is like feeling half hearted 😫
If you really regret it you could try to return it or sell it and buy the green one. But I sometimes also feel like some part of our brain doesn't want us to enjoy our new watch, so it tries to find imperfections and things to dislike for no apparent reason
@@TimeHeimI agree, that happened to me and that's why I ended up buying 5 PRXs! 😵💫😁
I am watching this review whilst wearing an identical PRX. I've had it since September, and this is the second PRX review I have watched today, and I haven't even searched them out. It is truly a great looking watch. I am kinda playing with the idea of buying the Ice Blue version as well. But, I already have 3 other watches on my list, plus a new laptop and a car... ugh... I hate consumables...
I feel you! I have somehow messed up my head so now an unecessary Tissot PRX for 650usd is a great purchase, while a new phone, which I would use many hours every day feels too expensive
@Time Heim haha, yeah. Anyway, the PRX will outlast the phone, so I totally get that. Also, even at full retail price, the PRX feels like a much bigger value. My mate has the latest and most expensive Samsung folding phone, I messed around with it a bit, but I genuinely don't see the point of spending that much on a bloody consumable, I mean it's almost Tudor money. The camera is very good, though. I miss those days one could get a killer Huawei for 500 bucks.
Have you had to servive your prx at all?
@@godmode2461 no. I only had it for 8 months. It will hopefully be many years until I need a service.
@@godmode2461 same here. I will service it when it runs too inaccurately. I don't really care about the recommended service interval, which is every 4 years, so in 3 years for me. I hope the watch runs well longer than that
Thanks, you just convince me! Funny thing that my other watch is also diver Seiko prospex!
I love your attitude and humor man
Thank you king!
damn good video. I didn’t even want to buy a PRX -but now I do. Subscription earned my friend!!
I think the prx is a great watch for its price and it fits me well. I recommend you watch other reviews about it before getting it haha. Thank you for your positive feedback!
@@TimeHeim I’ll be honest - I wanted the watch big time when it first came out until I saw the integrated bracelet - which was a massive turn off -but now that you gave me some cool options - it’s TOTAL GAME CHANGER -I’M GETTING IT!
Loved the video! Btw, random question - if you were to buy a watch to celebrate reaching the RUclips Partner Program what watch would you buy? If it helps, budget would be around $2000 Canadian.
My favourite watches around that pricepoint would be:
Seiko Spb143
Zodiac Super Sea Wolf skin 53
Formex Essence sw200
Oris diver sixty-five
Doxa sub 300T
Sinn 556
I hope you can find a watch that you will continue wearing for a long time that reminds you of the work you've put in!
@@TimeHeim thanks for the recommendations
Great video. Honest, informative, concise, and entertaining.
Thank you! :)
I also have a 17 cm wrist, and Im glad i held out for the 35 mm version. Have you tried it on?
I could wear the 40mm but i feel that size is too big for its design and makes it feel like wearing an empty plate. Some would probably say the 35 mm is a bit small on my wrist but I think it looks great and gives it a nice retro feeling.
37 mm would be more manageable, then it would be the same size as the vacheron constantin 222, re-released in its 1970s "jumbo size". Bring back 34-38mm as standard sizes for mens watches imo ;)
I haven't tried the 35mm yet but for my style I believe the 40mm version is the right one. As you say, 38mm would be the ideal size for me, though it would make the prx line more confusing if they released a medium size. Sad that the chrono version is 42mm
I'm not a watch collector. I'm looking around for one watch because I don't have one. This PRX design would look good as a kitchen wall clock. I prefer the Visodate or Le Locle, but then I'm looking at Hamilton Jazz masters too. Having said that, I'll probably end up with a field Khaki, because I have no occasion to wear a dress watch.
Hamilton khaki field is also one of my top recommendations for an everyday watch. Definitely a good choice in my opinion!
Teddy with the gun killed me lol
Awesome review big love from Australia 😊
Thank you
I've been wanting the blue prx auto for over a year now, but still have not bought one yet. I don't wear a dress watch as often so I got a Hamilton Khaki Automatic since it's so versatile, and I got a great deal on a Tissot Cotouier dress watch, so the PRX had been on the back burner
Seems to me you really like the Powermatic 80 movement haha. Every week I'm interested in a new watch but I kept coming back to the prx and after trying it on, I decided I would buy it as soon as I got a good deal on it. I think there should be no rush to buy a new watch, so enjoy your watches in the meantime!
Isnt the prx quite versatile and goes with casual outfits
Keep at it, dude. You’re good!
I will. Thank you!
Hey I'm new into watches and since we have same wrist size, is there difference between chain and strap sizes? Or charts? Also what is best on 17 cm wrist? Like 38 or 40 etc
For my wrist and personal preference, which also plays a big role, I like watch sizes from 38-42mm in diamater. Even 36 for more elegant watches. For me, diving watches with a diameter of 42mm, like the Seiko SKX, fit me well because the bezel takes up some of that space so the dial isn't that big. If it isn't a dive watch, 42mm is usually too large for me because then the dial is very big too. In the video I mentioned the difference in wearability between the Seiko srpd51 and Tissot prx. The prx has a longer lug to lug distance (the distance from the top to the bottom of the watch) which means that for small wrists, the watch will extend over the wrist. The prx also appears bigger becasue of the wider bracelet. I recommend you try some watches in a store. Even if they don't have the one you are looking for, you might be able to find watches with similar sizing. Hope this helps!
@@TimeHeim you definitely helped me, thanks!
@@TimeHeim Hello! What do you think of the Luminox brand?
@@korhi4 I've never handled one myself, but from what I've seen, they seem well-built and there are some designs I really like👍
I bought two of these incredible watch..regular blue and an ice blue
I have to check out the ice blue in person. It looks stunning in pictures. Enjoy them!
@@TimeHeim every time I look at that ice blue dial I fall in love again and again 😂 you will not regret purchasing one.
im buying the Rose Gold 18k one, fuck it
Great watch i got one, but I rarely wear it because it doesn’t have micro adjustable
My wrist changes during the day and its always loose or tight
Maybe you could try a rubber strap if it fits your style
I shit you not Aikon shocked me with way higher level of quality than my old prx,Aikon have maybe the best integrated braclet on the market, It's machined and designed to perfection and you get amazing leather strap.
AR coating is insane, fine brushing and polishing trumps prx and it has better movement. This is why I don't like when someone compares Aikon to Prx,Aikon is just pure luxury watch
while Prx is AP for the masses!!
I have to admit I've never held a ML Aikon, so I just gave my opinion based on my satisfaction with the PRX. I'll have to check out the Aikon then!
Aikon=3×prx pm80.
i also have skx and looking for prx 😅
I bought the glacier blue automatic version (I saw this video for shit, giggles and improve your algorithmic presence) my only regret of buying that dial color is that makes it fundamentally a "day" watch, the corners they cutted are a compromise pretty much all have made when we bought it, movement included, which is not that terrible really, now suddenly every watch youtber whines about how the PRX is terrible for the corners they cutted, the algorithm struggles are real.
Yes, especially since the Christopher Ward the Twelve came out, some have started to hate in the PRX. I get that people are tired of seeing the prx everywhere, but getting emotional and comparing it to a a watch twice the price is not fair imo. Thank you for watching and supporting!
You got my sub 😂🤝
For anyone with hairy arms does this pull your hair I've had that issue with seiko and Orient bracelets.
Hi every one. Thats may be sounds silly, but how to wound it manually?
By turning the crown up while it's in its normal/ neutral position. If you pull the crown out, you can change the date and the time.
Even though you can wind it manually, you don't have to, because it will wind automatically thanks to the spinning rotor weight that you can see through the caseback.
I hope this helps!
Does it really scratch easily?
I have a lot of scratches on mine. Most of them are on the bracelet from resting my arms on the desk. I have also managed to scratch the corners of the case, as they protrude a bit due to the flat build. If you are very careful, you will of course have less, but it will still collect some over time. Any watch will get scratches, so don't let this scare you off too much
but the tissot gentelmen has a much superior movement, it has a nivarox c07.6xx hairspring and also a chronometer version with a cosc c07.8xx silicon hairspring. instead prx only brings the disappointing hairspring and polymer (plastic) escapement c07.1xx unfortunately it is a caliber as disposable as the system 51
I like the 80h power reserve, though the trade-offs you mention are real even if I can't directly see them. I don't think it will affect the accuracy by much but it does slightly take away some of the charm of a mechanical watch
This guy doesn’t know what he is taking about😂
Which color suits best for a hispanic? Blue or green watch?
I don't know if you can generalize like that haha. Try them on if you can. From videos etc, I wanted to like the green one, but when I put them on, the blue one felt more right. A friend of similar ethnicity to me has the green version and it suits him well
Tissot prx or hamilton pan eroupe?
Both the Tissot PRX and Hamilton khaki field automatic have the powermatic 80 and are popular, well-made watches. Go for the one you like more, ideally after trying them on in a store
Brace yourself the 35mm powermatic is almost there. 😅
Waiting for this
makes a great matching present for your lady
I bought Tissot PRX a week ago
And still watching videos
I don’t know why
Maybe you want to hear that you made a good purchase. While the PRX isn't the best watch of all time (I don't know which watch would be), it's a damn good looking watch and I really enjoy it, so I hope you enjoy it too!
@@TimeHeim yes I’m enjoying it I also have citizen tsuyosa
Bought this watch and regret it so much. If anyone wants it $100 off , brand new lmk I’m in LA. Receipt n all from Tissot.
teddy lol!
🤣🤣🤣🤣👏🏿
is that a phone camera? very good videography. better than all the other reviews imo
Thank you! Yes I filmed with my Samsung Galaxy s10e. I now have a new phone and a real camera, but I'm still not very good at using it. Filming with the phone was much easier haha
Sits weirdly high on the wrist, no go for me because of it.
Coming from as Seiko, the fit isn't as good as i'd wish, but for me it was still good enough tho
Loving my Powermatic ice blue I just received directly from Tissot. It does look slightly big on my 6.5” wrist, but no complaints. Just curious…Is there a functional purpose for wearing the butterfly clasp off center? Anyhow, nice review.
