Y'all they made me drag that whiteboard down the whole strip... 🤣 Super fun, thanks for all your help Jordan!
I'd like to see you try this test with a trailer with double and triple axles to reduce rolling resistance and friction on the trailer bearings. If Cybertruck can beat a Porsche without a trailer it possibly can beat it, if you keep adding wheels, double triple quad axles. With that reasoning, Elon was right...
What time did it do?
Out of spec really stepping it up with their production quality! Loved this one
Yep, and Jordan was a great addition to the team!
Agree
Glad he came back @@GraysonCarr!
Shame it still look 12:50 to find out something that could’ve taken 2 minutes.
@@Tommmmmmmmmmmm respectfully disagree. Theres definitely some videos where I’m wondering when they’ll get to the point. I enjoyed this to the point that I didn’t feel that on this video
That definitely sums up Tesla as a whole.
"I'm impressed with what the Cybertruck can do, but annoyed with how Tesla handled the messaging."
Awww 🥹
it is marketing. stick someone who is mid at driving stick and the few tenths difference gets nullified. should have just showed it having a faster 0-60 than a 911 turbo
Messaging with straight up lies.
@@TejSingh-mm5sowho cares, it is slower than a Porsche taycan ev, as if musk pretends he's the only game in town
@@sprockketsis the taycan a truck? lol
In case there was any question, the manual 911 is much slower off the line than PDK, even with a pro
Yeah the PDK would have probably won fairly easily across the board.
This is why RUclips exists. Great video from everyone.
I’m getting the Nikola lawsuit vibes! However it is likely the results Tesla shared were before software restrictions were put in place!
What did the Cybertruck run without the trailer?
Tri motor runs 11.0 from many various reviewers on many surfaces, with a best run so far by mkbd he did a 10.9@117mph.
The actual tesla engineering team shared in their testing they got a 7.8@88mph towing which proves it did beat the porsche&fenskes is a pos liar! He knows this got called on it and community noted month's ago. Yet refuses to walk anything back and instead got involved in making this video=he is a Douchebag extraordinaire. 😀
It should run an 11.0
11.0 consistently.
Jordan videos are the best. Keep them coming.
Jordan love the video shots and the drone shot at the end was epic, cool video.
holy cow this is out of this world, krazzy, love the content coming
Great editing and work Jordan! This is such a fun video - tainted by the culture war around all of it lol. Oh well. Glad it was a fun day for all of you. Wouldn't have minded seeing a few more of the runs or details on them. But that's ok
Great coverage Jordan! You are an excellent narrator.
I think the key hidden fact is Tesla’s weight reduced trailer.
And that Tesla most likely played with the programming to boost the trucks performance higher than the stock versions that customers will get.
do we have a cybertruck not towing vs porche?
From Out of spec RUclips trusted journalist ? I don't think so for now 🤔
Great video as usual for Jordan and for the channel in general. I especially appreciated the elevated production values: the editing, the music, the drone shots. Great work, keep it up!
I didn't think it could cheers Jordan and the team
Better messaging would have been: CT almost beats 911…while towing a 911. No less impressive.
More accurate, but doesn't sound as good.
Please don't go into marketing
They could have even used a Model 3 performance lol
How did you not switch the Porsches around to see how quick the PDK car would be while the cyber truck towed the manual?
That would’ve added time, and we were up against the clock as it is. But the PDK would’ve won of course.
how much weight do you need to pull out of the CT/trailer combo to beat the 911. do that math and see what can happen.
yeah the trailer could make the difference, maybe get one rated for 110 mph, LOL!
Great video!
well in most daily drive the stop lights we drag race at are in 30-40 mph zones so the 0-40 time is relevant :)
I think Tesla should one up this and say it could drive over a Porsche while towing a Porsche and beat a Porsche in a 1/2 mile race.
I’m most impressed by how EEs math turned out right.
Nice collab. effort!
7:06.
Was this the cybertruck beast model? Or just dual motor?
I'm curious if you do it the other way around, so the Porsche pulls a trailer with the cybertruck on it. 😃
LOL, yes :D
It doesn't tow but ok
Sacramento Raceway is no more? I missed that news.😮😢
Elon embellishes, 911’s are awesome, the Cybertruck is really impressive and Jason somehow weighs 145 pounds. Pretty much what I expected. Nice one Jordan.
In a nutshell right there
Elon ‘lies’. He embellishes too.
Did you use beast mode?
Jason is a pretty good engineer!
Since the difference was 2/10 of a second. I find it hard to agree with the statement that you would have to purposefully throw the race to lose. Was that the 911 slowest time vs the cybertruck fastest time?
Looks like they only did one race, with a driver that wanted the cybertruck to lose. Disappointing.
We did 7 races all with different results and even tried different drivers. The fastest time against fastest time resulted in .5 second difference.
@@Jordan_Schiefer what was fastest cybertruck vs slowest 911.. was that the 12.5 to 12.7?
Awesome
Dragstrips may be struggling because all the new car adds encourage street racing and now everyone is Don Galits. (look it up.)
If ever there was a more empty victory....
Now do a hot lap around Laguna Seca :-p
Both with 10000lbs trailers.
*I'm halfway through the video and I don't hear you saying whether you're using CyberBeast or Foundation Series, Tri motor or Dual motor, etc.. which makes a HUGE difference depending on which one you're using.*
It is the Tri motor that of course, is the quickest one.
Can't you wait and watch the whole video before commenting? They did mention Cyberbeast eventually.
@@thewheelieguy *Aaaah, thanks. My time is limited so I tend to skim through most video longer than 5 minutes.*
The fact it can win in the 1/8th mile and is even close in 1/4 mile is very impressive. A win for tesla, most people just took their ad at face value and now even car enthusiast can be impressed even if its not "a fair fight" so to soeak, the fact a truck towing anything can keep up with any new porsche on a drag strip is amazing
It can’t keep up with a new Taycan. No Tesla can. Especially in the Nurburgring. Please don’t spread your half knowledge here.
That's crazy, I would not buy the first models but maybe a 3rd gen after all the quirks are worked out.
So the only difference is the weightsaving Tesla did on the trailer, about 150lbs.
Thanks for this vid, ofc we knew this result. A little surprised the 911 beat the Tesla at the 8th mile 2/3 times...
Elon lies.
@@JonathanRootD No, at 1/8 it's because this setup is worse than Tesla's. Engineering Explained makes it clear on his variant of the video at 15:04
ruclips.net/video/5J3H8--CQRE/видео.html
12.5 vs 12.7 ... I could think of other more damning statements made. Cool resaults though
what were both cars speeds at the 1/8 mile and at the 1/4 mile.
Curious if the Cybertruck hit max speed and the Porsche had no such limitations...
Neither hit max speed. CT would’ve if it hadn’t been towing
Love the drone shots!! Makes the videos look super professional
Wow,I was very shocked. Didn't expect the Beast to be so close to the 911 while towing.😲
Try it again w/o Launch Control.
So had to watch Tesla release again and it does say he did it in a 1/4 mile and was clear it was an 1/8 mile as it showed the marker which is not a 1/4 mile marker but would have to race to understand. At end of video the times posted were what it does in a 1/4 mile. Which is faster than the 911 but Elon miss spoke. Guess you would have to drag race to understand. They didn’t lie just showed it win in 1/8 which is impressive while towing.
You DO realize it's a different setup than the one Tesla used, so no direct comparison can be made?
Just a heads up. This type of editing is far? Fast better than the normal videos
I was out today in a busy suburban street with shops, restaurants and traffic. A Cybertruck quietly drove by and I could feel the whole area became silent.
Everyone quietly watching it glide through😂
It really was an experience.
I want to see what the cyber truck can do without the trailer and car attached
It would have been so nice to top this video off with a little no-comment outro showing the CT and the 911 racing without the trailer. Better yet, CT against the PDK version of 911.
Indeed, but with a non-max-speed-limited Cybertruck and decent tires, not the all-terrain.
0-60 is made up to show how good it is, why can't another range be made up as well to show what the car is good at?
How about 8 hot laps at the Nurburgring?
The plaid can't make it past 7 without firing up the diesel generator.
Maaaan it’s towing a 911 and still kept it close. Thats a W
Elon could have said it was close instead of lying
So why lie ?
@@BhavanaKarusala Yeah I would have said “we ever so slightly loss to Porche 911, BUT we have a valid reason” then showed the Cybertruck towing the Porche lol!
Damn they are really invested in this. Seems like Tesla put together a million dollar package for them to prove them wrong.
It appears you do your own videography, and it’s great. Do you also do your own editing? Because that’s great too.
Out of spec is a team of about 10 people
Yep I do all my own filming and editing on projects like this... I enjoy full control when possible hah.
@@Jordan_Schiefer
Specific question, which video editor are you using? FCP?
@@NormalShock Final Cut Pro. 👌🏼
Bakersfield is excellent a lot of car enthusiasts
Amazing tacos
Heck yeah I found some of the best Mexican food of my life. Good coffee too
Why is the out of spec video shorter than the engineering explained video, it doesn't feel right.
Hello Jordan lets see
Race at 7:25
Which vehicle was spinning wheels on every pull? 😂😂😂
Great editing. Music worked really well.
No track mode cyber truck
Now try one without a trailer
Despite the results, the CT is still the winner overall. Drop the trailer and Porsche and the CT flat out wins. And stable towing and braking @ over 100-mph is a amazing.
*I am still trying to figure out why this video needs music?!?*🤔
very cool! I'm glad someone actually tested this! The cyber Truck is a beast.. I didn't think it would be that close of a race.. great video!
What version of 911 are u using , turbo ?
Watch the video!
@@Jordan_Schieferanswer the question , next time
Nope, the 911s base model with handshifting. The turbo s is much faster (9.9s for the 1/4 mile)
Bet it was a none turbo 911 in that case the CT would win
No surprise to me. 12.5 Porsche 12.7 cybertruck. For context my little electric city car does the quarter mile in 12.1 seconds leaving the Porsche 4 car lengths behind.
Bone stock 428hp 543 Nn torque 1,900kg 0-60 mph 3.78, 0-100 mph 9.8 seconds max speed 112 mph. 🤣 on the street😮
Tesla is a desirable product with a loyal and forgiving customer base. They might have exploited that loyalty. Just look at the first press images of the new model 3. All front images had what looked like a front camera. This caused a buzz as to what it might be. When the physical car was released to the press, it was missing. Not one motoring journalist who was at that release brought it up (bit of a coincidence and should be looked at further), but please correct me if I'm wrong. Because of that and Tesla vision is garbage, I bought a different EV brand and am really happy with my purchase. Tesla are lovely cars but are still riding the 2012 hype train.
Cubertruck was at 95% state of charge
Still making full power though so that doesn’t affect anything.
👍
What more do I want you ask? I want to be able to tow for 250-300 miles on a charge. Not 100...
That’s where the range extender comes in but at a cost
Then you just need a massive battery. See the new Silverado.
@@cherrytreepermaculture756 Or much better battery technology and chemistry which we will have to wait another 5-10 years for it to get implemented
We've already waited 12 years since the first model S and the range has only improved by 20%
At that rate, it will take 60 years for the range to double.
at the end of the day, it's a good bit of marketing on tesla's part: look at how everyone is *STILL* talking about the cybertruck still. free. advertising.
That video has much desired to have made better I'm not talking about vehicles the actual video footage.
Everyone knows that pink color is faster than green.
Video starts at 7:06
Tesla should have done a 10MPH street start, rather then standing start. An ICE car in gear is very slow until the torque builds up. Instead they choose to exaturate and make a false claim. Cybertruck is phenomenal performance. No need to try to trash Porsche with a misleading claim.
Is the plural for math (maths) making it's way into US English? There is only one math...
At what point did the cyber truck hit its top speed?
Top speed is achieved after the 1/4mile so wasn’t done here
Has no one put Teslas on a dyno?
Can put their HP claims to the test
love the EXPO mic lol.
He keeps saying "Tezla" ??
Impressive to see a truck towing a car have that quarter mile time. Yea, obviously Tesla was deceiving and obviously a Cyber truck towing a sports car won't beat the sports car. No surprise, but damn is it quick.
What are the chances that Jason threw the race so he could be good at math?
Never trust a Jason…
I doubt Jason threw it, but the race is different from Tesla's: the trailer is significantly heavier, and the 911 is differently positioned on the trailer - all significant disadvantages for Cybertruck.
Nice video but kinda misses the point
The cybertruck you’re using isn’t even the cyber beast one that was in the video Tesla
If you’re going to run tests at least use the right cybertruck lmao
Jordan. I have never heard of a Zero to 30 mph test! ZERO to 60 mph or zero to 100 km or zero to 62mph.
Rather pointless though when you have a range of 200 miles and it takes ages to charge.
I wonder how much Tesla has saved in rent over the last 10 years…
It would still be an unfair / dishonest result, however it's possible the engineer's changed the power output of the battery and motors to levels they wouldn't deliver to consumers. It's possible it did win that run under it's own steam, but using programming that isn't sustainable for wear and tear.
I'm sure if it did they'd have shown the video of it
@@BillyONealnot necessarily. They have no reason to disclose all the tuning they do for promos. They certainly had some custom software when they took it to Baja for example and there's no reason for them to disclose all those details in the promo
@Cyrribrae showing a 1/4 mile finish instead of an 1/8 mile finish, or saying the 1/8 mile finish is an 1/8 mile finish instead of lying about it, would not be "disclosing" anything.
Clearly 1/4 mile is the comparison they wanted based on the lie, and if they'd been able to get that result, I'm sure they'd have shown it instead.
Even though it wasn’t what Tesla claimed, that is super crazy how close the race is
Well it’s been 3 weeks since I see Kyle vids. I don’t know if I’m gonna keep subbed 🤷♂️
you had both there... couldn't run em without the trailer? Show the ct beating the pants off a 911, what other stock truck can do that?
Elon exaggerated as usual, if you were to do a video on all his exagerrations ... It would be a 24h episode
Everyone does it. Just usually careful not to say things that are easy to check.
@@andrasbiro3007not everyone does it. Don’t normalize lying to investors/customers. It’s bad. Very bad.
@@andrasbiro3007 Yes...a good example is the Ford Lightning towing a train.
@@alvadagansta
It's been normalized before written history. In fact it's been normalized around the time sexual reproduction was invented, if not sooner.
I'm not saying it's a good thing, just that it's not an Elon/Tesla thing.
dont top fuel do 1/8 mile.
They go 1000'
Maths is King! Elon is always two weeks away....
If Tesla would have just said “it can beat a 911 while towing a 911 in an 1/8 mile and holds its own in the 1/4 mile” that would have still been extremely impressive. It’s just unfortunate that Elon/ Tesla felt the need to lie.
I don't think it was an intentional lie... I'm curious what happened.
