Could you not put at least one coat of Mod Podge on the wax paper also like you did with the label paper?
Love the aged look.. nice video

I will definitely be giving this a try, I have not seen this method used before.
Thanks for watching!
I have never seen you before Mam but, I am always up to revamp something old or new to keep it out of the land fill. My mom and I were dumpster divers 30 years ago when that term was not out. We only went to stores where there was clean dry sanitary dumpsters for craft supplies or grocery stores that threw away their magazines. We mostly were curb collectors. I tell people my idea of curb appeal is not buying a house but seeing something cool on someone's curb, taking it home and refinishing it into something great. I make all my oen stationary and I even make my own envelopes and I make cool post cards out of fabric and card stock and the postal service approves it as long as there is no fringe or loose threads. I do not have the type of printer you need for this technique but I buy vellum in bulk and I make very cool mini lamp shades out of it.
I look forward to seeing your other videos.
Sincerely,
Rebekah in VA
rEBEKAH BARDSLEY, I love yer comment! I love dumpster diving, too! & yer "Curb Appeal"! You've given me a MUCH NEEDED "creation inspiration"! Thank you! 🤔💥😃
Sounds like we would be great friends!!! Love curb collecting. I am always amazed at what people get rid of!! Would love to see what you are making, sounds fantastic!! You can head over to my Facebook and send me pics :) Glad to have you following along Rebekah
Nothing better then upcycling inspiration xo

Looks good.
Thanks for watching! Wow you had alot to catch up on.
I will definitely give this a go. I think if you your wanting something vintage looking you could distress it and add some darker wax.
Yep you sure could! Thanks for watching
You probably should have mentioned that you used an ink jet printer and not a laser printer.
Ok there is a use of Jute twine that I dont hate lol
This is my new favorite channel💜
So glad your enjoying! Thanks for watching Misti

I use the back of mailing label paper and print on my laser printer. Works like a charm.
Yes that will work great thanks for watching Gina
Does this work in tshirts too.
This is way cool
Thanks for watching Maggie!
Ohh you’re from Ontario!! Me too I’m in Thunder Bay 🙌🏼
Hello there ! I bet the colours are wonderful up in your area right now! Have a great day
@@OurUpcycledLife you’re right they definitely are! I’m looking out my window now at a beautiful orange and yellow leaf tree 😊
Have a great day 🍁🌻🎃
This is the only method I’ve ever used a different type of plastic not Wax paper but I’ve been watching your channel all day learning different types of ways to do it because I only have an inkjet printer I’ve made tons of signs and sold them this week when it doesn’t come out clear I use the permanent marker from Dollar General to clean up the lines it works great
The markers work perfect to fix up letters! Glad you are enjoying Gina
Had never heard of this technique before. Thank you for sharing this with us.
Thanks for watching!
I’ve heard of this but haven’t seen it done. It seems a little more trying than some of your other techniques but then again practice make perfect!
It is a bit of a buggar to do and I don't love it but great to try all different methods
Nice explain
Thanks for watching
I love this! Crazy! I would of never thought of using wax paper and it turned out great. I just happen come across your video and I was curious ,now I have ''another fun project to do"! This is just regular inkjet ink, right? Would it work with ''sublimation ink"? Great video ,thank you
You are so welcome! Yes just a regular ink jet and I have never used sublimation ink so I'm unsure. Thanks for watching Sandee
I don't have any style printer and am asking is there a way I could just take a photo and transfer it into some fabric?
This is awesome, I'm wondering if it can be sealed in without smearing?
I let it dry completely then seal with a poly acrylic sealer
❤️
Thanks for watching ! Glad you enjoyed
There are also things called "Chinagraph" pencils. They are waxy-cryon type of colour in pencil form.
Ohhhh I will have to goggle that!! Thanks for watching
I just commented on the other video when you use mod podge and C. D. Paper. So apparently we can’t make ahead of time you have to use asap and of course I like to work on mostly wine or alcohol bottles. But if you can make ahead can you lmk please and thanks.
You get a much better result by printing onto the slick underside of label paper after the labels have been peeled off. I get the best results by sanding the wood with 220 grit paper first.
All your projectc are so nice and professional, thank you for sharing. I would like to join your club and buy some images, but firstly I need laser printet (I already have ink one). Trouble is so many printers and I cant find what I need. Maybe you know which colour laser printer is good for printing vivid colours?
All brands work well!
I might try this because I have absolutely no luck with the Mod Podge and reverse graphic and am not going to even rely on it anymore. Ive had graphics printed at Staples because of their laser printers, I've given them my cheap paper to do that, I've covered it with Mod Podge, I waited 24 hrs , I've trimmed all the paper I could so I'd less to rub off and still had to go over the print with a paint brush and black paint. II was rubbing the print off!!!! I'm done doing that. I'll use stencils, tranfers or other techniques. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. Let's see what wax paper will do.
Give it a go see how it works for you
Yeah, same here. Very diff8fir me to not damage some of the image when rubbing. 😕. I appreciate these videos regardless 😊
If I do this method onto a canvas tote what would be the best product to use to seal it so the bag may be washed if needed?
Hmm I am not sure if yo could seal this very well to be washable. The only method I have found to work really well for that is a cricut . Thanks for watching Hayley
Once transferred to the project can you seal the ink on with a spray on clear sealer or does the ink run?
That would work perfect!
Cool! Do you seal it?
Thanks for watching!! Yes you can but let dry really well or ink will smear
Hi wanted to know if the wax paper will c
Work for a hp I have the hp with the paper load at the top
Yes it should work fine! Thanks for watching
This question has likely been answered, but, would it be good to apply a few spray coats of poly in order to make it more durable?
You can put some poly acrylic sealer on top when it’s all finished and that would make it more durable. Thanks for watching.
That's an interesting technique. Thanks for sharing the video. My to-do-list is getting very long this way.
I don't have an ink jet printer anymore. Why wouldn't this work with a laser printer? I guess you tried it out. What was the result then?
The ink from a laser printer wouldn’t come off the wax paper like the liquid ink jet ink does.
The ink is different on a laser jet and doesn't transfer well. The ink jet ink just sits on top of the wax paper.
You can use laser, slighty different process...brightness needs raised on image for dark colors, & you need to use preferably a liquidtex gel medium (matte) on area of transfer, risk of smudging if not careful. Painted surfaces need a heat gun for 2+ minutes, & applies better with flatter & matte paints.
*You don't even need wax paper, a laser print on paper works, same technique...but it needs wetted, & paper towel dried for a perfect release/removal, or it will remove in a few ripped up strips. Practice is key.
@@aaronfuksa2047do you have any videos demonstrating? Sounds like you know a lot about it!
@@coppulor6500 I know youtuber Rix can do it, he uses 100% cotton paper from southworth. But he uses a secret coating on the paper to peel off in easy strips... I've done it several times, which need smooth surfaces.
But now I focus on uv printed dtf transfers which have good sun stability, sandability & clear coat goes on top.
do you need to seal it? If you put it on fabric does it need to be heat set?
I seal it with Poly acrylic sealer on all my signs. But if I use it on fabric I don't seal it . It is just usually on decor pieces I don't wash so I'm unsure what you would seal it to be more durable
since the wax melts. Does it damage the printer? Think over time it could cause problems.
I have never had any problems when crafting but I don't use a really expensive printer just in case. Thanks for watching Jennie
I just watched a video, yesterday, about this. I swear you read my mind. 😂 Do you tape it, to paper, or just feed the wax paper, through the printer.
tape it to another piece of paper
I can feed it thru my printer without problems but you can tape to a piece of paper to feed thru if worried about it jamming
@@OurUpcycledLife Thank you, I am always afraid I am going to get mine jammed. Machines and I don't have a good history together LOL
I love the look of this technique. I have 3 printers and none of them pull the wax paper thru it. I have to tape the wax paper to real paper and feed it thru my printer. It’s really difficult. Do you have that problem ever?
Yes some can be very tricky! Mine is ok but I have had some that I have to tape to a sheet
Did you seal the graphic after you burnished it onto the wood?
Yes polycrylic sealer
I recently used a whole roll of sticky back wallpaper in my bookcase.. and I tossed out the backing paper😩.. But I will for sure save the next roll!
Yes! Save everything 😀
Hi, Can it be done on cotton or linen fabric?
Yes it sure can but wont wash well. Will fade really quickly . Thanks for watching
@@OurUpcycledLife Thank you for your answer. :)
Inkjet or laser printer? Can you also do it in color?
This will only work with a ink jet and yes you can do colour
This is an interesting technique to try out. I notice you didn’t seal it. Would it smear with sealer?
I will seal with a poly acrylic sealer after it is completely dry.
Can I use the wax paper for a canvas transfer?
If you follow me over on Facebook you can send me pictures over there and I can get a better idea of what went wrong with your graphic transfer on the label sheets

Yes, I sealed with poly acrylic sealer

Yes, it certainly can

Yep that is right! Thanks for watching
@@OurUpcycledLife Thank you!
What happens if you let the ink dry for a couple of days before you try it
It is best to do while ink is still wet :)
I have an idea to do this on a cheese board. Any idea how to safely add something on top to make it food safe
Any boards I make are not food safe so I’m unsure
Can i do this on a glass
If it is chalk panted otherwise it wont work! Thanks for watching
So if this isn't your favorite rapid transfer method, what is?
I love the reverse method . That is my go to transfer method ruclips.net/video/xLV1kGidPaM/видео.html
hello I printed a picture on wax paper and tried to transfer it on a candle using a heat drier and nothing happened Idk why

@@OurUpcycledLife Thank you! I'll check it out!
my wax paper just got jammed in the printer. Maybe i need better paper
Some printers are really sensitive
wait a second, you just feed the wax paper into the printer without adhering it first to stock print paper so it doesn't jam?
No, it was attached to a piece of computer paper although some printers will take just the wax paper through
bro use laser printer la. inkjet does not work with this wax paper
Don’t just feed the wax paper....I wrecked a fairly new printer that way
Oh no!! I have never had any problems but I just use a cheap ink jet printer for my crafts only
Deborah, even though I can’t understand some of what you say because you talk very fast, I wanted to watch your video. Sorry.
