- Here's my first vlog from the surgery! It has now been 8 days since I got it, so I feel a lot better. It is still painful and pretty now but I can have soft foods now!! I did vlog a bit on the next days, so I will upload another video about it went then.

I'm glad to know she has such good and loving parents. You truly never do stop being a parent. And I feel for all of them. I'm a nursing assistant myself, and that's a very scary process up until the countdown when they knock you out. Really proud of your bravery Shelby! Remember, positive mindset; positive outcomes! Wow your parents are natural at vlogging
My surgery took 9 hours. Lucky girl. My teeth were wired shut for a week. The nerve dying thing is true. It comes back. Watching you makes me go back to how I felt. It was insane and because you can’t talk to eat it’s a very hard recovery. But worth every singe moment of it. I hope your doing well in your recovery. You’re awesome!!!

I had jaw surgery in 2007 to correct an overbite of 1/4 of an inch. I can tell you that the whole process was less scary than I expected and in about 1 month I was back to eating solid food. Instead of all the broth and liquids and ice cream. I do have some scary photos where I look like Frankenstein after the surgery. With all this said I am grateful to my wife for helping me through the process. It would have been much more difficult without her help. I did not sleep at all the 1 night I stayed in the hospital after surgery, not because of pain but because of the periodic checking of my vital signs.

Shelby I’m glad it’s over (surgery wise). I couldn’t help but cry as your dad was saying he never stops being a parent as well when you were crying before the operation. Surgeries no matter how big or small will always be scary. Glad you’re okay and thank you for the vlog! Can’t wait to see your recovery process. I recently had surgery and my parents were able to come stay with me and it was the biggest blessing! I needed help with everything the first few days and I was so grateful to have that support. I had to get knee reconstruction surgery and it was so hard to come back from (I'm still recovering too), but I'm so proud of you for getting through it. All surgery is super scary and very emotional but now the worst part is over for you! It's only up from here girl! Your parents were so cute too on the vlog. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Hey there Shelby, so glad for you, that things went well and you had great after care. Your Mom and Dad are really great parents and obviously love their baby girl with every ounce of their hearts. I know, I know you are a grown woman, but as your Dad said "you never stop being a parent"; my oldest is 22 and there is not an hour out of the day that I don't think about how things are going and if everything is ok, precious are our children. Continued good thoughts and positive spirits up. Dad Church Billy Crystal was imitating Ricardo Montalban, in a comedy skit on Saturday Night Live.
