Wow! You see yourself everyday so you might not notice the difference but you look so much less swollen. One side is even a bit less swollen. Hang in there! You are going strong and you will be looking great. Don’t worry!
Pro-tip for when you get your invisalign. Every 2-3 weeks you will switch to a new aligner set. Switch to your new set at night and take an ibuprofen before you go to sleep. It allows you to sleep through most of the pain as your mouth gets used to the new set.
i’m 12 days post op my surgery, i was freaking out and had so much anxiety and depression the first week but i’m doing better and i’m so *happy* to see you are too! it’s draining but we are making it :’)
Why is Shelby the cutest ? Maybe her ability to make even her Jaw surgery & life post op so interesting & fascinating. Keep doing you Shelby! Millennial of the year!
Yes Shelby! I absolutely love that you’re being honest about the process of recovering after jaw surgery. Thank you for being one of the few RUclips personalities that shows real life situations. Truly love your work 💜
Don’t feel discouraged. Your face will get back to “normal.” As someone who had the surgery (10+ years ago), it will take about a year max to take its shape. Hot pads are your friend. Use warm hot clothes to help with the congestion. Your nose will bleed. You’re having a similar recovery to me.
As soon as you started talking after the screws were removed, your voice and enunciation immediately sounded more like you!! So glad you're recovering!
Cleaning service will change your life. My husband and I used to argue who should do what and now we have someone come in twice month for deep cleaning. Big difference in our marriage.
The sweater you're wearing at the end of the video looks so cozy. And props to you for appreciating your cleaning service. So many people who have their house cleaned are not appreciative of the work they do.
Idk why I got so emotional when you were laughing during the PPT part. Just so glad to see you feeling better and laughing/having fun with the girls! Only up from here!!
I love love love how you were laughing so hard with your friends that you even had to contain yourself! Such a huge difference from the last time you were at a get together, the progress is wonderful!! Keep faith friend :)
Even though the swelling hasn’t completely gone away, I feel like you still look like your old self! I know someone who got the same surgery in 2014 but she had her month wired shut for a few months after and braces, her face definitely changed in the way it looks.
You seem much more upbeat and confident since the last Vlog! Speech is clearer and more pronounced (besides when you had the numbing shot of course!) and the swelling is going down nicely, although too slowly for you I'm sure! Nice to see laughter, smiles, and fun becoming a part of your life again!
You are such a trooper Shelby ❤️ thank you for continuing to vlog and update us! Looks the the swelling is going down and your smile is getting bigger 🥰🙌🙌
Honestly, your smile looks a lot better, I have followed since before op, so seeing the first smile you made after surgery where your muscles were just barley holding it to now is a big change. All in all just continue and you willget there eventually. Does not matter how long it takes, be greatfull for all the small changes each day, your body is working hard for you to heal.
Hi Shelby, I hope you aren't feeling too discouraged. I had double jaw surgery 5 years ago and just want you to know that things will get better! My swelling didn't go down completely until about 6 months after surgery but at that point, I was the only one who noticed the swelling anyway. Thanks for being open about this whole process. You are looking great! Take care
Wow, the difference on the last day of the vlog was huge to me! Can really see the recovery happening fast now. So happy you're getting back into things again, and still achieving a lot, getting shit done!
Aw it’s so good to see your progress. With every vlog you post you look more and more like yourself. Hang in there. Healing is never linear but you’re doing an amazing job!
I knew you would come through this just fine. Much of the day to day drudgery you feel now will soon be replaced with large quantities of positive feelings. It's already been a month and you're looking more fresh and invigorated every day. I know from your point of view you still look very unlike Shelby but believe me you are making great progress. You'll be surprised just how soon everything will be so much better. Just keep hanging in there. You're doing great!
Your Palm Springs house will be so fun to design and be a part of. We have 2 interior design people doing the 2 custom houses at the current job site and it’s an interesting & entertaining stage for sure.
I was dreading go to dentist for teeth cleaning more than usual. Tried thinking why...I realized for weeks Ive been stressed just watching your dental odyssey! I know living the recovery is brutal-but you’re doing great!! So proud of you!!
Shelby!! Your swelling is looking really great and so if your positivity. I recently just had an eye surgery, and it gets really hard sometime to stay hopeful. Really needed to see this video- thank you 🥺
Definitely noticed it’s easier for you to talk and we can now see your teeth again! Your swelling how gone down a bunch too. I was in invisalign for 3 years and it changed my hit completely, but you’ll get used to it pretty quickly. I just finished back in September and I love my new smile. So excited for the Palm Springs house videos!!! Congrats again!
not just lookin' good - YOU LOOK SIMPLY MAHVELOUS !!! :0 Seriously, you're really showing almost natural lip patterns as you speak, able to move both sides almost evenly - I'd pat yourself on the back for hanging in there and smile a lot :)
Shelby, I think your recovery is going to speed up now that those four screws have been taken out. Just being able to move your mouth more freely will make a big difference in the healing process. You also look great so don't worry about that.
Looking much better Shelby, can definitely tell the progress. Glad nothing was infected as well. Stay strong and in due time you'll be better than ever! 🙏
Aww!!! I'm following the whole journey and seeing you this unswollen and happy really excited me for you :')) I literally shaded a tear in your last video when you were sad it's gonna be forever that way ♥ you're awesome!
Cannot believe this that you are going through this in 2020....plus covid pandemic. Stay strong. We believe in you. It is so inspiring to see you tackling this situation
Honestly from the las blog to this, you’re swelling is so much better...starting to see more of your natural pre-swelling face. So glad to see you in a better spirits
hey, it's looking REALLY good now! Your facial movement and speech is getting better also, it will all just keep getting better. Love that little wool top. Super cute. Looks good on you. All the best on healing.
You’re getting less swollen! I’m sure it’s really hard to see your face like this. But I love that you’re documenting your journey! It’s so cool to watch. P. S. Love the PowerPoint night. That looks so fun
Hey shelby. It is so great to see how strong you go through this and your vlogs really let me feel with you. Keep it up and thank you for uploading this journey for us. We are with you and trying to cheer you up. You are not alone with this situation. Greetings from spain
Take it from someone who has had 6 jaw surgeries. It will take about 4 months for swelling to come down externally/ visually. My surgeon said that it can take up to year for all the residual swelling around nerves to go away but you won't see any of that. Walking for around 30 minutes plus at a time will bring down swelling as well (Yeah running feels strange, kinda like your heart is beating in your face). Feeling and movement takes time but it comes back. You can do some very light tapping (almost like a tickle) over your upper lip/ cheeks/ jawline to slowly wake up the nerves. Learn't that in voice class and I don't know if it made a massive difference but I could feel all the nerves waking up which was reassuring.
I truly appreciate all that you do. And thank you for documenting your whole process with getting jaw surgery. I personally will be getting jaw surgery as well in may due to TMJ. I didn’t know what to expect since it is not a normal procedure to get done (at least from what I’ve seen). I now have a calm mindset and taking the advice that you give to set me up for success with eating and going through the process.
I feel like after they took the screws out your upper lip and nose looked soo much better! And you voice is getting getting more like your old self. I feel like this video looks more like yourself than ever before
Getting a cleaning person is my goal tbh...I just don't like cleaning so I feel like a pro could do it much better than me. It's great that you didn't have an infection! You can talk so much better now. The new TV looks awesome! The powerpoint night looked so fun.
I actually feel like you're speaking better now after the screw removal.
I noticed that too
same!
Me too! Once they took those out it was much easier to talk!
Looking brighter and more yourself every video! 😊
The face is getting back to normal once again little by little and your normal voice is coming back. Great job!
Will I ever get jaw surgery: no.
Do I click on these videos right away?
yes.
You may have jinxed yourself
Wow! You see yourself everyday so you might not notice the difference but you look so much less swollen. One side is even a bit less swollen. Hang in there! You are going strong and you will be looking great. Don’t worry!
Shelby your voice sounded so much more clear after your screws were taken out! I can see a huge improvement
I think she's looking subtly more like Monica than before.
Pro-tip for when you get your invisalign. Every 2-3 weeks you will switch to a new aligner set. Switch to your new set at night and take an ibuprofen before you go to sleep. It allows you to sleep through most of the pain as your mouth gets used to the new set.
damn i wish i had this kind of common sense when i had invisalign, i was kinda dumb in middle school 😂😂😂
Can anyone else not believe it's been a month?? It feels like I've been watching these vlogs for two weeks max lol
Yep
Right??
i’m 12 days post op my surgery, i was freaking out and had so much anxiety and depression the first week but i’m doing better and i’m so *happy* to see you are too! it’s draining but we are making it :’)
You got this!🤎🤎🤎
@@tabithathewholistic thank you ❤️
@@mariaasmrr Of course!🤗
You look SO much more like yourself now. I think you're opening your mouth a lot wider and articulating a lot more. Looking good!
Why is Shelby the cutest ? Maybe her ability to make even her Jaw surgery & life post op so interesting & fascinating. Keep doing you Shelby! Millennial of the year!
the little lisp is cute too!
She needs a man tho..

Jessica Storey Oh I hope she reads your comment!

I love seeing these updates and the healing process. It’s crazy how long it takes to fully recover/heal from these types of surgeries
Idk why I got so emotional when you were laughing during the PPT part. Just so glad to see you feeling better and laughing/having fun with the girls! Only up from here!!
As soon as you had the little screws taken out, your speech improved. So glad that you are feeling better.

You're giving me the courage I need to go through with my own Jaw surgery. Thank you.
Watching your journey has been so inspiring. You give me the confidence to take on anything, if you can take THIS on during 2020!! #SuperWomanAward
you are looking a lot more “normal!” patience is a virtue :)
Family & puppies & Palm Springs - the best way to get through a horrible experience! So glad to see you doing better and better!
You are such a trooper Shelby ❤️ thank you for continuing to vlog and update us! Looks the the swelling is going down and your smile is getting bigger 🥰🙌🙌
Your actually getting better! Love it when you smile more.

My thoughts are with you. Keep up the good progress!

Cool seeing your progress. Congratulations! Can see and hear the improvement as this installment unfolded.
Looking good, kid!

You are looking so good!! Can see those cheekbones coming back!! Have a Great Day!!
Looking great Shelby, so glad you're getting some answers and seeing more progress xx
Getting a cleaning person is my goal tbh...I just don't like cleaning so I feel like a pro could do it much better than me. It's great that you didn't have an infection! You can talk so much better now. The new TV looks awesome! The powerpoint night looked so fun.

You Look Marvelous. So happy you are feeling better too! As always thank you so much Shelby Church for all you do!!! no running yet...
