Great to see you on the road to recovery Misha, says a lot about you vlogging the process. It'll be well worth it in the end, I have 2 friends that have had this surgery for the same reason as you. It's been life changing for them both.
Great to see your progress Misha! I had braces for 3 years and had 4 wisdom teeth taken out in a surgery 2 years into it. The struggle with having work done around your mouth is real tough, but it's so worth it in the end!
A hell of a procedure to go through Misha but totally worth it. Glad to se your face returning to normal. Have fun learning to chew with more than a couple of teeth! Looking forward to some hot laps from the best track in the world!
I can definitely relate with the S sound being difficult after a major dental procedure, I used to have a massive overbite so my upper teeth completely covered the lower and during the first few brace tightenings I noticed how often I misspoke in the sense that the S became more like a Shhh or Š. You literally have to calibrate your tounge to the new teeth position which is a very wierd feeling at the beginning. I also got those blue things to the back teeth to be able to chew anything and it was the weirdest feeling not being able to "close" my mouth fully anymore. I really had to calm myself multiple times from the anxiety and panic of the thought of "I will never be able to "close" my mouth to the same extent", but I managed to get over that in a couple months and haven't even thought about it until now. I am also very greatful I didn't have to go through what you did, because there is no way I could handle it as good as you, especially the mouth wired shut for a month
I'm happy for you! I'm sure, it will be awesome rediscovering all sorts of food once you have adjusted yourself. After all, a lot of flavors are only set free after chewing.

I’m sure your fitness helped a great deal in your speedy recovery and people should remember that. Well done. I wish you well. Have a good weekend. Best wishes to you and hugs to Pancake. David
Interesting. My wife has had her uppers and lowers replaced and the one thing she still has trouble with is feeling. Both you and she complain that there is a lack of feeling that proves to be a little disconcerting as to how much pressure you’re applying when chewing. The best advice that I can give is be extremely careful not to eat quickly, you could very well accidentally bite the inside of your cheek and tongue. Your progress looks good!
I've got an upper jaw instead of double (which I was excepting my whole life) surgery. I've had a few oral surgeries and invasive surgeries, however the upper jaw surgery is the one I'm panicking about. Glad to hear you went through this and came out on top like on the Nürburgring!
Thanks for the update, Misha. Really glad things are going well. I really didn't realize exactly how much was involved in this process...or how long it would take to fully complete. From what I can see, your jaw/teeth look really good. To me, you also look like you've become leaner since your surgery. You said that you haven't lost much weight overall. Is it possible that you gained muscle and lost fat so that overall, you're about the same weight?
Still recovering from surgery myself on my face. After weeks, it's still numb, and I can't do certain things. A very odd feeling. Keep up the positivity, and look forward to the time when you no longer need to make these video's because it means you've recovered. Side note: Wasn't grossed out watched someone chew open mouthed lol.

I fractured my jaw in 3 places and broke my nose 3 weeks ago. They had to pull my wisdom teeth to wire my jaw shut. In 23 days I get some wires out but it’s still 6 full weeks until my next surgery. I’ve been starving and liquids sure don’t make you feel full. I’ve lost 22 pounds in the past 3 weeks and was only 140 pounds when the accident happened. I feel your pain brother. Absolutely horrible thing to deal with

So, my jaw surgery was dec 18 of 2023, my jaw cannot open very wide at all either, but a little wider than yours, and when i try to open it further, i get a strange pressure feeling only on one side so i really hope the surgery didnt worsten my tmj. I had to get my top palette segmented to widen it. The surgeon somehow broke off 3 of the top left braces from my teeth 🙄 my orthodontist really isnt impressed with my surgeons work.
