    I love the archetype, but I always end up running out if gas way too early and then I'm always just top decking. I solved that problem by taking Elenda and Azor (esper colors) as my commander, which is centered around drawing cards to make my little vampire tokens. Perfect commander for aristocrats.

    My Aristocrats deck is Ratadrabik. Most aristocrats decks focus on making lots of tokens to sacrifice to trigger legendary creature effects. I wanted to flip that on its head and make a aristocrats deck focused on sacrificing legendary creatures to trigger lots of tokens! Its a very fun way to see lots of different legendaries in my desk and have some very different experiences each time, on top of producing some really wild boardstates like having 6 teysa karlovs.
    Then WOTC released Boromir and everyone acts like its cEDH tier now

    My favorite aristo-cat commander is Lurrus. extremely grindy and could hold itself against some cedh decks thanks to lurrus being the piece you're always missing for the exodia. you just need the sac outlet and a way to bring him back triggering ETBs and DTs all over.

    I'm currently building an Artistocrats deck with Colfenor, the Last Yew. My big problem with it is that I'm concerned that it's gonna be too commander focused, or too 'maybe this will go infinite too easily', because it's just like Leisa's ability, but it's not at end of turn. We'll certainly find out, but I mean, it'll definitely need a boardstate and the Commander to do anything infinite.
    Hopefully it won't be too much of a Tentpole Commander, where if he's not there, then the deck has nothing :/

    Its been a while since I built an aristocrats deck, but since Vito, Fanatic of Aclazotz just came out I'm getting back into the strategy. So far in early testing he's being a very promising pay-off. You just have to mitigate yourself to three sacrifices per turn unless you're in a situation where you don't need to max out on Vito's triggers. He's still very powerful, and I'm looking forward to playing him at my LGS on Commander night.

    my first (and only) deck is an aristocrats mono-black elves deck, running Nadier and Miara! The idea is to sacrifice elf tokens with nadier on board to pump him up while gaining value from those sacs. i THEN sacrifice nadier to get all those tokens back, fish nadier out of the GY or with other means (Undying Malice for example) to return him to the battlefield! i can then pop down skemfar shadowsage for INSANE aoe damage. It is NOT a good deck, but it IS a fun deck!

    I've really enjoyed post LOTR Ratadrabik. 9 Nazgul, Gollum, Boromir, and Sam provide infinite material when sacrificed while tempted. The non nazgul are their own sack outlets, either directly by effect with Boromir or via recursion into the legend rule with Gollum or Sam. Teysa, Drivnod, Mondrak, Anointed Procession, Gandalf, and Moth all provide doubling, making your nazgul army deadly and massive.

    I don't build decks anymore because I don't know how to build something that ISN'T aristocrats.
    The last one I built is Teysa. Basically once I set up the board, I drop Teysa and go off by sacrificing creatures that make tokens when they die and zulaport cutthroat effects. Doubling death triggers gets out of hand way faster than most people think they do.

    I built a Judith the scourge diva aristocrats deck recently and i found that the amourøse of triggers and decisions involved when either a boardwipe happend or just deciding which creatures to sac, was too complex that i actually got a headache. Maybe i did not have enough fodder. All my guys basicly said “when a creature dies x happend”. But i didnt want to sac either zulaport, blood artist, body launderer, grim haruspex, Judith her self, or yahenni… and when the boardwipe finally happend i got so confused that i directed all of Judith triggers of damage to the Myrkul, Lord of bones player, this helping him alot lol. Ended up making his mother of Runes and elvish mystic into enchantment versions… doh!
    Havent played the deck since.

    • @martinolsen7183
      @martinolsen7183 Год назад

      Having watched the video now, i think that my problem is partly my commander Judith. She wants to go wide (with tokens) to buff them. But she also wants to sac non token creatures to trigger her Ping ability.
      I built her because she was fun in standard with footlight fiend and mayhem devil and such. But in edh i dont think she is the best choice. Maybe she needs way more recursive elements then i included but i think I would be better served choosing another commander. Maybe that angel…

  • @Garl_Vinland
    @Garl_Vinland Год назад

    I run Liesa Forgotten Archangel, but instead of the usual tiny aristocrats, I run her with the big 5+ drop angels and shoot them out reactively on my opponent’s turn with Amulets and portal artifacts. All the angels have massive ETB triggers and I can even reactively sacrifice them when threatened with exile removal with Fallen Angel or Reaper of Flight Moonsilver.
    Because it’s Orzov angels I also happen to get a lot of 1/1 spirit tokens on death triggers or etb, because of this, I can kind of recur tokens. And eventually I can go infinite with Divine Visitation which has the added benefit of comboing with all my Angel tribal effects

    • @commanderbydaenen
      @commanderbydaenen  Год назад

      It's not really possible. I should've devoted part of the video to explain the difference between Sacrifice decks and Aristocrat decks. Sacrifice decks, you're sacrificing permanents to pay for effects, like drawing cards or mana for spells or whatever. Aristocrat decks, you're sacrificing creatures to deal damage to your opponents. Oftentimes, those effects that deal damage also gain you life, so you've got strong synergies with cards like Diva and Vito. But since you're wanting to go the colorless route, you can't really build an Aristocrats deck.
