  • Learn what your security code number is for your bike. Everyone should know this number.
    For updated info on this subject check out my video called: Harley Davidson PPU code- Is it my security number?
    Check out my playlist for a video showing the right way to do this, but be advised that I still couldn't get it to work on my 02 Road King.

    OK I have a 2005 Dyna UK model with the ignition on the side by the battery and this is what works on mine. Hope this helps someone out 👍
    so double click your keyfob to disarm the bike. then, iginition on off, on off on. left turn switch twice. now you should see both indicator lights on the dash flashing together like hazards. at this point you press the key fob twice. the personal pin will now be shown on the dash. you can use the inidicator buttons to change and then just turn ign off to save. i suggest "11111" to test.

    my 03 roadking has security blinking. changed fob battery still not working.I was able to get code which is same as yours. so how do i bypass? i cant find your video.

  • @charleshall5576
    @charleshall5576 6 лет назад +3

    That is not the security code, it is the PPU (Pulses per unit, or the number of pulses the speedo gets from the speed sensor per mile/KM) because you just entered diagnostics mode on the bike. The only place to get the code is from the owners manual where you/the dealer/previous owner had written it. Otherwise the code is not set.

    What prevents a thief from following this procedure, getting the code, and starting the bike?

    • @RealLifeProductions
      @RealLifeProductions  4 года назад +2

      I believe you need to have a functional FOB with you that belongs to your bike to get the number or change it, which would assume you are the owner and able to start the bike. However, once you know the number you can bypass the system using just the number without the FOB at all. HD factory default codes are well know in general, that's why you should change your number and not leave the default code in the system.

    i have a question i have a 2010 chevy suburban. and after giving someone a jumpstart my radio and signal light lost sound theres power and all but no sound. any advice on what can i do? you sound like you know alot about vehicles. .thanks

    • @RealLifeProductions
      @RealLifeProductions  8 лет назад

      Yeah it sounds like the radio amp fuse is blown. I'm not sure where to find it in your car, but you should check your fuses. Your owner's manual might tell you what fuse it is and where to find it. I'm pretty sure that's all it is. Easy fix and not expensive. That is....if you do it yourself. Good luck.

    The PPU Value is what controls the speed displayed on the speedometer, which in turn. controls the turn signal cancellation. If you have downloaded a 2004 & later stock calibration into an ECM it should not be used on a 2003 or earlier motorcycle; the speedometer and turn signals will not function correctly (from google)

    To do this .. does your key fob need to be around ?

    • @RealLifeProductions
      @RealLifeProductions  5 лет назад

      If you know your pin and want to start the bike you don't need the FOB.
      If you want to reset your pin then you would need your FOB to deactivate the security system first.

    Scott I'm trying to get my Sons 2015 Street Bob, the engine cover has a 103 on it. running, there isn't a reset button on the side like in your video. I had to put a new battery in the bike, the bike ran for about a month then slowly started shutting off while on the interstate. I made it home and checked the battery voltage and it was 12.3 so I put the charger on it . the next morning all the bike did was flash a red light like a code maybe? the speedo lights flashed on and off and went dead. could you point me in a direction please? • @RealLifeProductions

      Sounds like a lot going on there. I'm thinking it's definetly a wiring issue. Maybe a bad connection. Check your connections, then check for a pinched wire that might be shorting out. You had the seat off to change the battery, maybe a wire got knocked in the process.

      Mike Wargnier I'm not sure. I know how to do it but can't get it to work on my 02 roadking either. I'm still looking into it. My number has been changed. The factory default number is 12345 I think.

      @@tomskinner6640 yeah there's a couple things.... you need to have the FOB with you to get the number. Another thing is I had 2002 RK too, I couldn't get the number either. I'm thinking maybe ask someone at the HD shop to show you how to get it. It's probably still set to the factory default number.

    do you have to have tge key fob to find this number

  • @shawnhampton2868
    @shawnhampton2868 6 лет назад +1

    I just bought an 02 fxdwg3 and it doesn't have the fob and the previous (2nd) owner didn't know the pin. The dealership said I have to buy a new security system and then pay them to program it. Shouldn't I be able to follow these steps to learn pin number then go buy a new fob for 50 bucks and program it myself ? I don't wanna pay 500 dollars for someone else to do something that I should be able to do myself for 50.

    • @shawnhampton2868
      @shawnhampton2868 6 лет назад

      As far as I know the system is disabled right now. It starts and runs with only the key. I figure since its on the bike I should be using it.

      Unless HD does something stupid like set up their system up so that only they can change it....then you should be able to program a new fob just like it's done in cars or garage doors. Those only take a minute and they're easy. I'll look into this....

    • @RealLifeProductions

      +shawn hampton
      Find the pin number. That way you'll know that it has a system. I can tell you how to do that if you need me to. Then I'll tell you how to program a new fob. It takes about one minute with no tools involved.

    • @shawnhampton2868
      @shawnhampton2868 6 лет назад +1

      Scott Prado if I follow the instructions in your video that should give me the pin number shouldn't it ? As far as programming the new remote that should be easy (did find some instructions on that online). Headed offshore right now and will lose signal but any help you can give me would be awesome. I'll check back in a week when I have signal again. Unless I can find some Wi-Fi at a platform out here. I know there is a way to do this without buying a whole new system. Thanks for the help and the videos you do.

      this only works if you have a synced fob with you at the time, fantastic if you forget your numbers. its helped me before with friends bikes. but if you don't have a fob. you can't get the number this way..I've tried recently and it makes sense as any douce bag could do it at the road side and steal your bike. Mates vrod has just had the module changed because he lost the fobs and forgot the number

    This is not accurate...at least for my bike. I KNOW what my pin is and I checked to see if this truly displays my pin. The display showed THIS EXACT number he's showing in the video, but my security pin is different. I believe this number to mean something else...otherwise anyone could find out the pin and take your bike.

    • @RealLifeProductions
      @RealLifeProductions  2 года назад

      The number is a PPU number. It's a number connected to your speedometer. There's another way to find your PIN. Harley has a bad habit of having different ways of doing things for different years and models. I mentioned this in one of my other videos.

    • @RealLifeProductions
      @RealLifeProductions  2 года назад

      Also it takes more the knowing the PIN to steal someone's bike. You need to have the FOB too.

    This did not work with my 2009 Fatboy however I found the instructions on Cyclefish. www.cyclefish.com/forums/topic/2762/harley-davidson-security-alarm-setting-pin-override ... Good luck , I was stuck without my key over an hour away from home and could not figure out the code, I tried the serial number backwards which didn't work . After finally getting my key and trying the procedure above I found out the number was 12345..... Felt pretty stupid for both driving off without my key and not trying 12345 . Hope this doesn't happen to you , change your code just incase
