So true. I went cold turkey from steroids for weeping eczema a few years ago and it was brutal. I finally came across argan oil and lactobacillus. Saved my life!
I’m just wondering what kind of education these doctors give patients when prescribing. I’ve always been told not to use it for more than a week, really needs to be more education though. Doctors also need to be getting to the root cause.
They’re not there to educate. They’re there to get us hooked on medications that we will have to take for the rest of our lives. I’ve been to dermatologists, and I learned that they are salespeople before they are doctors.
I cut regular toothpaste (went to fluoride free ones like toms) and seed oils and my eczema went away - my physician never went to the root cause and just prescribed the creams
I used a medicated oil containing camphor oil, eucalyptus oil, menthol, methyl salicylate and some essential oils to rub on area that i have eczema on and made ginger infused drink. Eat real food, whole food. The simpler the better i guess. Find low inflammation options for foods and drinks. No sugar or slight sugar. If you are able to do fasting, then do it. Fasting both food and drink for 16-18 hour a day if you could. I still have eczema with dry skin but no redness or itching anymore. Still working on it.
I have eczema from some chemicals found in everyday products and some metals. Steroid creams are a great short-term solution. I would HIGHLY recommend getting a patch test to find out what is causing your overactive immune response. After getting my patch test I was able to avoid what I was allergic to and I have very little flare-ups now. If your eczema is more from natural allergens, go to an allergist and see if you can get immunization treatments.
Yep i had really bad itchy ezcema on my hands. I had to try and wear gloves to keep from scratching and making it spread. They gave me steroid cream it worked at first and then came back with a vengeance. I just stopped going to the doctor and it turned into a different type of eczema called dyshidrotic (i think thats what its called) its basically clear blisters under the skin i still get blisters occasionally but it seems like it eventually kinda cleared up on its own
This is why I never accepted steroid creams for my baby when he had eczema. What cured it and I mean cured it, was pasture raised goats milk soap and cream. Even some of the goats milk in the bath with the same soap shavings. Eczema gone within about 2 months.
from time to time yes. I’m between when it’s not needed I use La roche posay lipikar moisturizing cream or tallow cream that I got from Etsy as well. It doesn’t smell the best but it’s very good to moisturize and not add chemicals to my son skin. I use it my self and on my other children as well.
@@alexamcfalls4099Eczema can’t really be cured, it is a chronic condition so I recommend you incorporate products with centella asiatica, oat milk, niacinamide and ceramides in your body care routine as these help with eczema. The important part is being consistent with it. Flare ups happen but with consistent care, you’ll minimize them.
Apple cider vinegar baths have helped my kids so much. They hardly ever have flare ups, and even the really bad ones caused by allergies go away really quickly. Game changing.
@cleanbubble7969 for a bath, you put about a cup or two in lukewarm water, soak for no more than 15-20 minutes. For a compress, I use about a quarter cup to a liter of water, soak a clean cloth, apply to skin for about 5 minutes, rinse and repeat until you see results. My youngest son had a huge flare up after running in grass all day, it was awful. After a bath his legs looked a bit scratched up, but all the redness was gone. We used a light moisturizer, and zero steroid cream, and he was fine in two days. Now that's all we use, and his skin looks amazing.
I get eczema on my hands a lot. After all the expensive creams I tried, plain Neutrogena hand cream (for like $3) worked the best. Expensive skin care is just not worth it
I had contact dermatitis from HEMA I got perscribed a steroid cream and an ointment and all over the paper that comes in the box it had warnings of not over applying the steroid cream, something like do not apply over 2 mg of cream a day or something like that, also had warnings about possible side effects of over applting the cream, I'm so glad I read the exerpt because with how itchy I was I would have 100% overapplied the cream because my doctor did not explain anything about the medication to me
Like were y’all using the cream all over? Most people have it on their inner forearm, behind the knees. I genuinely would like to know (because I’m curious) how this becomes a full body thing when you stop using the cream?
That's one of the symptoms of topical steroids withdrawal or TSW in short Your body gets used to it and if I stop you begin to go through a withdrawal like with other drugs
i’ve been prescribed so many steroid creams, and they all seem to make the pain worse when i apply them. i’ve began dupixent a month ago and have stopped using the steroids, mainly thanks to your videos.
I have had Psoriasis all my life. The sun used to totally clear it every summer. I'm now 50 and the sun doesn't clear it the same ,and my legs and arms react in the sun .
I have a friend like this. The first few weeks of being in the sun each year do cause her arms and legs to react, but it always improves in the sun in a big way. She has to sit in it for a long time, like a couple of hours and more per day where possible.

I have psoriasis and use it as prescribed for the last 10 years and I’ve had no issues. You’re never supposed to use it over larger areas of your body or for more than 2 weeks at a time it says it all over the boxes. Don’t demonize a very safe and effective treatment because you had a bad experience with it.
You will see its effect in the next few years. I have been using it for 25 years with no issue for my psoriasis, and I ended up this year with a lot of sickness because of the steroid cream. It caused me an adrenal gland problem, week skin, loss of weight, tiredness, and my vines becoming so clear, I regret a lot of using it, i wich that I knew the information about this cream, go do more research about it
I suffered for over 10 years! I reversed my eczema by correcting my electrolyte imbalance, less sodium, more potassium! Bye bye dermos and roids! Weigh your sodium intake!!!
Weird. Where i am from the doc tells you to only use it short time during a bad flare up, due the consequences of its use. So do the people in the pharmacy and the packaging . Do they not do that there too?
The quality of information provided by dermatologists varies. For the level of damage topical steroids can do, doctors need to give patients every single detail, including how dangerous they can be. I was first prescribed hydrocortisone 20 years ago, and the only advice I was given by my dermatologist was, “Use as long as you’re flaring.” It’s less that the doctors are prescribing steroid creams and more that too many doctors are way too cavalier about them.

The carnivore diet is so bad for you, I did not spend 12 years getting a fucking doctorate to hear people talk about this bullshit. If you want to do it, that’s up to you, but do not tell other people to do that. It is not only a dangerous diet, but it also leads to major problems later in life. I’m sorry if you’re getting fake information but you need to fact check better especially if you’re going to be recommending it to other people. It doesn’t matter if something worked for you or it worked for a friend, do not give medical advice without doing the proper research. this diet causes major liver issues, as well as problems with your kidneys, including kidney stones, as well as severe constipation that can lead to you needing medical attention. Humans are not designed to only consume meat. It will hurt you. I beg you, please do better research before you recommend things like this, it can be very dangerous.
Honey, that diet is very dangerous, our bodies are not meant to only consume meat, you can trust me, I went to school for an extra 12 years after high school to get my doctorate in family medicine, which I’ve had now for 10 years. I can tell you with upmost certainty, the carnivore diet is not safe . Do not ever recommend that again. Obviously didn’t do good enough research to be giving people medical advice, so please from now on do not give medical advice. I understand that you did this to help, but it is not safe.

Try using beef tallow moisturizers. It’s the most bioidentical to our natural sebum so it’s very easily absorbed by the skin.
