    I've been carrying a kahr cw.45 every day for the past four years and it has been a pleasure. It's also the same size as the 9mm.

    I personally love single stacks. They're so much more comfortable when wearing to conceal. The width of that grip really makes a difference IMO. Kahr has made some good quality, slim little carry guns for sure. Awesome stuff, thanks for sharing.

      My LCP max is smaller in every dimension and holds 12+1, but it's a .380 😔

    • @thereindeertherabbitthebat592
      @thereindeertherabbitthebat592 2 года назад +3

      @@BuckeyeBallistics Yeah, I love my LCPs man. (I have 2 of the original LCP1's, 2nd gen) I got them bc they're some of the smallest, most concealable semi's available. It's exactly what I expect a true pocket pistol to be. The LCP1's grip is SO short & thin, it's almost not enough 🤣 I freakin love it.
      I carry an extnd 10rd mag in my other pocket, so 16+1 of 380... I can deal with that. If it's winter time & I need more, I'll carry a 9.
      Summers here in SC get so freakin humid & hot, something easy like an LCP is a big plus.
      Some single stacks are severely underated. "Tactical operators" are so quick to crap on them bc they're not the latest & greatest but prices on single stack guns are staying low. With guys trying to sell theirs so they can afford to upgrade to doubles, that's where I step in.
      One man's trash... 👍

    • @BuckeyeBallistics
      @BuckeyeBallistics  2 года назад +1

      You aren't wrong. Everytime I try to sell/trade a single stack, it's way harder to move it than a double stack- or I take a loss on them.

    • @Valorius
      @Valorius 7 месяцев назад

      @@BuckeyeBallistics The new 1.5 stack guns are a lot more comfy to conceal than the older doubles, and for me they fit the hand better than a single. That said, I like singles too.

    I used to live about an hour from the kahr factory and went there for their open carry picnic every year. I've owned a few of them and like them, but they really need to get on the ball and come out with a 1.5 stack magazine pistol.

    • @BuckeyeBallistics
      @BuckeyeBallistics  2 года назад +8

      Yeah I was thinking the same thing. If they made this CW9 a little wider to hold a staggered/double stack mag with say 10-12rds, it'd be a great modern carry gun...

    • @Valorius
      @Valorius 2 года назад +2

      @@BuckeyeBallistics It sure would. It would essentially be a glock alternative for people who like a DAO trigger on their carry gun. Like me.
      They could easily just make a lower grip module that will fit a Shield Arms Glock 43X magazine and save themselves the cost of engineering their own.

      True, but they should also get on the ball with their long repair times. It took 6 weeks for them to repair a CW9. I paid 5 days ago for the repair and they still haven't shipped it out yet!

    Back in the mid to late 90s I picked up a K9 which is the steel frame version for my wife. Short story is she needed a no safety auto back then. I just refused to have a "plastic" gun back then. She liked the S&W 60 357mag magnaport but it was very loud & still sharp recoil with 357. So I decided a DA only auto was the ticket. We both carried this but it was primarily for her. Just traded it for a shotgun a couple years ago. Only complaint was it was finicky with reloads. DA is super sweet & slick in Kahr.

    Got two CW9 and one K9 early version. Been carrying one of the CW9s for years upon years but now carry a Springfield Hello Kitty or GeeLock 48 with Shield Arms 15 rounders most of the time. Still carry a CW9 w/ 2 extra mags in a Kydex rig in my daily carry bag as back-up. Great guns for the money and occasionally I will carry one of them as a primary firearm.

    I purchased a CW9 as a EDC weapon. I know my way around pistols as I have owned 10 and I used several for pistol competition. the first thing I notice was that the site picture was off and if I aimed as any other pistol it hit 6 inches low.
    I found that I needed to hold the front site above the rear instead of in the V. Using that unorthodox site picture, at 21', I fired 60 rounds with 4 in the 9 ring and 56 in the 10 and X ring. My concern was that in a self-defenses emergency It would take to long to think about how I needed to site the weapon. I had a Range Master at FT3 Tactical test my gun with the same low hit results. I sent my CW9 back to the factory and after it's return went back to the range. Unfortunately the site picture was not corrected. This time I had 3 Range Masters all try my gun with the same, low hit, results. I was finally able to cure my EDC site worries, I bought a S&W Shield Plus.

      I've owned exactly two as well, this one and the CW380. Only had minor issues with the CW380, but they are known to be picky. A couple feed issues in the review video, but was due to weak practice ammo not cycling the slide fully.

    It's not a double-action-only. It's striker fired.

    • @BuckeyeBallistics

      It's a DA striker dude, there are both DA and SA strikers...

    • @Ni999
      @Ni999 Год назад +1

      @@BuckeyeBallistics Kahr markets it - today - as double action but originally they sold it as _feeling like a double action only_ pistol. It's actually a pre-set striker - same class as all Glock and S&W MP pistols (among others). There's really nothing double action about it or the others I mentioned. The marketing is inaccurate and therefore lame.

    • @BuckeyeBallistics
      @BuckeyeBallistics  Год назад +1

      @Ni999 - Well Canik does (roughly?) the same thing- I reviewed their striker fired TP9 DA/SA last year. They offer the TP9 in a "SA" only model with a light Crisp "SA" only trigger pull, then also a "DA/SA" model, where it allows you to carry chambered on a heavy long "DA" trigger for the first shot. I'm not sure about the mechanics of it, or of the KAHR either for that matter. But I'm not on here to debate semantics or mechanical inner workings...
      But the point is, when the manufacturer states it has a double action trigger, regardless of the technical analysis or actual mechanical inner workings, I know they mean a heavy long trigger pull which is what a double action trigger is to me (and to most consumers considering they are marketing it in such a way). I could care less how it actually works- it's still a long heavy DA trigger pull, even if it is a faux or simulated DA.
      This point of view is similar to all the comments I get when I say a particular box of .380 ammo is +p because the seller says it is, manufacturer says it is, the label on the box says it is- then everyone has to come on barking "there's no such thing as +p .380!!!" (because SAAMI says so). This here is the same thing, and I *love* being corrected over stating what the manufacturer says... As you said though, it's their marketing, not mine.

    • @Ni999
      @Ni999 Год назад +1

      @@BuckeyeBallistics You really don't seem to love being corrected over repeating marketing claims at all - or even discussing it. That's your business, you do you. I wrongly assumed from your channel name that you might care how things worked - my mistake. I won't repeat it.

    • @Ni999
      @Ni999 Год назад +1

      Old MGTOW - there are striker fired guns that can be called double action. The Kahr is not one of them even though they market it that way.
