    These are good guns for non-gun people. A great option for people who want to carry for the pure necessity of self defense. You can have the safety aspect of a revolver trigger with the ease of use of a strike fired semi-auto. People forget this was the OG single stack before all the current "game changing" models came onboard.

      Word up. Some folks still pack 5rd .38 special. Here u have 9rds, I mean if you can't do it with that. And the Kahn's is is plain easy to shoot and hit! I can shoot my Glocks then transition to my CW9 and It's more accurate. I make a custom nickle case XTP 90gn with 7.5gns of blue dot. +1200fps

      I would definitely consider myself a gun guy. These guns are for anyone. They're just great pistols. People talk about the trigger..... It's just different than your traditional striker fired pistol. It's not wrong, just different.

    Kahrs are awesome, accurate, flat, smooth and low recoil shooting guns that feel great in the hand and are built like tanks. Kahrs have tight tolerances and springs which is why they shoot so great and smooth. To put and end to the Kahr bashing myths this is what u do when u buy a Kahr and it should not malfunction: 1. Safety check and remove the magazine 2. Rack the slide back at least 250 times 3. Rack the slide back and leave it in the racked back position for 72 hours 3. Take the gun and clean it thoroughly, and then the gun should function flawlessly. This is what I did with all my Kahrs and I didn't have to waste 250 rounds of ammo to break them in and they all have functioned flawlessly with never any malfunctions. I don't know why Kahr doesn't put this in the instruction manual. I learned this from a law enforcement guy who loves and owns several Kahrs. I also do it on other guns that have tight tolerances like Steyrs and this method has worked flawlessly for me. Thanks for the great review on the Kahr and whatever u do never sell your Kahr unless its to buy another Kahr. I own several guns of many brands and I just keep going back to my Kahrs for conceal carry cus they are so light and comfortable to conceal.

    I have a PM9 that has been stone to the bone reliable since day one.
    Good! More Kahrs for you and me! I plan on getting a CW9 real soon!

    Never had a problem with my Kahr cw9 and I've fed lots of range ammo through it, no jams. But for serious social intercourse I load Hornady Luger XTP, only range fire that a few times, saving the rounds for when I REALLY NEED them, but still no stoppage no issues. Great little backup or hide out piece, does what it was built to do perfectly.

    Out of all the hardware I own, I keep coming back to this one. It was the first firearm I owned, and after all these years of having Rugers, Taurus', S&Ws, and Sigs, etc.. This CW9 still feels so good, shoots like a tack driver, and is so simple to operate and take down to clean. I am never getting rid of it!

    I own one, and it has never failed to feed, extract, or eject at all. I added talon grips, and put the 2 dot rear sight on it. I prefer them. Also added a Stainless striker guide.
    The deal I found at the time was awesome also. 2 magazines, and hard case for under $300 in my hands. Highly recommend it it

    It's a real thing for people to buy a tiny gun to carry but rarely practice with it because it's difficult to shoot well (therefore frustrating) and sometimes even hurts your hand to shoot.
    The CW-9 has a 3.6" barrel which puts in in the category of many compact service pistols. Superior ballistics aside, the fact that it's really, really concealable but ALSO very accurate and fun to practice with is a big, big deal.

    I have one of these and like it very well. My wife wanted a semi auto, so we bought her one too. Unfortunately, that recoil spring is so strong, and she is so frail with limited upper body strength, she really can't rack that slide. We almost didn't get out of the gun store with it, because in our state, you have to pass a handling test AFTER the waiting period, and it took many tries before she was able to do it. So, she sticks with her revolver, until maybe I can persuade her to get a Sig P238, which she can rack with no problem. Other than that, I think the CW9 is an excellent value, and a solid choice for concealed carry, for someone willing to develop proficiency with it.

    The only real weakness in design on this gun I have found is the tiny round spring on the left side of the frame around the cross bolt hole. If you don’t engage the cross bolt/spring correctly when replacing the cross pin it will make the gun a single shot pistol and the springs do break or get distorted, it’s happened twice on mine, fortunately Kahr will send you replacements for free…

    I've had a cw9 for a few years now and as much as I do enjoy it there is an issue I face that despite a lot of range time (1500+ rounds) and research I've yet to discover a solution for. I am unable to perform tac reloads with this weapon without experiencing a malfunction 50% of the time. The same issue persists if I try and load one in the chamber and then top off the mag. For example, if I fire four or five shots and go to reload with a round still in the chamber, I can put a fresh mag in there, fire the first round, and the weapon will jam. This is disconcerting because I do not want to have to rely on an empty gun and locked back slide in order to properly perform a reload, especially with such limited capacity. Have you had any experience reloading this weapon before it's empty and actually had success getting it to cycle? If so, any suggestions on how to fix my issue? Thanks a bunch!

    • @stepgun8444
      @stepgun8444  4 года назад +4

      Honestly, I have never had that issue. I am not quite sure what would cause that issue. Does it happen with different magazines? Sounds like something weird with the extractor in the slide. I would dissassemble the top of the slide and make sure everything is in tact.

    • @johnorenick9026
      @johnorenick9026 4 года назад +5

      Just a thought: try leaving your magazines one round down. Most auto pistol feeding malfs, in my experience, occur with the first or second round in full-to-the-top magazines; the pressure put on the spring trying to cram the last round in there makes it harder for that first round to feed correctly, and the CW9 has ridiculously powerful magazine springs.
      I've had a CW9 for a while, but I haven't had much chance to shoot it. These are less expensive because the shooter is expected to break them in, and mine wouldn't go into battery, at first. Less than a box of ammo cured that, but I'm hoping that with more shooting it will become more accurate.
      I wish some genius would figure out how to make Kahr triggers "stage," so that you could take up that long pull, hit a stop, and give it that last couple of ounces when the sights are just right. I'm never quite sure when it's going to fire, and that's not how I shoot the best.
      My only other real complaint is the magazines. They have by far the stiffest spring of any handgun mag I've ever encountered, and there's no thumb button out the side to help you retract that spring. It's very difficult to load the last couple of rounds into a magazine, and a smaller person or one without strong hands will not be able to do so. That is too bad, because the grip should fit small hands nicely (and a Hogue grip sleeve makes it fit my size 9s perfectly) and despite being quite light, this is the softest-recoiling 9mm I've ever fired. It would make a good woman's gun, except for the difficulty of loading the magazines. And something between the magazine angle and the feed lip angle make the magazines really not want to hold onto the top round; I think that trying to fix that problem the wrong way is the reason for the ridiculous magazine springs. It's a good idea to thumb the top round back into the magazine before inserting mag in gun; it will probably have crept forward an eighth of an inch or so. And having to remember that, and take time to do it, in a firefight could get me killed. Kahr knows it's a problem and hasn't fixed it. It may yet be a deal breaker on an otherwise good gun.

      Hey thanks for your reply, I will try your suggestions next range trip but as you stated, there are a few issues with the cw9 and for me they're starting to become a deal breaker. I already almost always prefer to carry my g17 despite the bulk, and think I will pick up a g19 and sell my cw9. I'll give it a few more months of training before deciding to let it go but I pretty much only trust it to run through the first 7 rounds.

      Just because you don’t know how to shoot anything but a Glock style trigger doesn’t mean they suck! These are arguably the best and smoothest triggers on the market. But everyone is a “tacticool operator” now. These triggers are like a finely tuned double action revolver trigger and the exact kind of trigger you want as a defense trigger. Don’t say they suck when it’s a YOU problem and you don’t know how to shoot it.
