I ignored this gun for a while. I have carried the Glock 19 for a while. Then I had the chance to compare this 48 with the 19 in person. Man numbers on paper don't tell the whole story. The silhouette of the G19 wasn't the problem. But it's a chunky boy. This is nice and thin. I personally am okay with just the OEM mags and 10 rounds. This is a summer carry for me and the G19 will serve well in fall and winter in my OWB setup. I stand corrected on the 48.
Just excellent the Glock 48 came out not too long ago same size as the Glock 19 but much slimmer fits everybody's hand perfect also magazines are easy to get on eBay or any place much cheaper too this is a great CCW gun a lot of police are starting to carry them also very easy to use and handle I give this gun five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💯👍
The only complaint that I initially had with my Glock 48, other than the factory sights which I replaced with Truglo tritium, was the puny grip texture in which I remedied with Talon Pro Grips.
I got a 48 today, I have not shot it yet. I find the 40sw a bit too snappy for me, but the 9mm a bit smoother and more controllable. I have a 17 also, and the size difference between the 17 and 48 is amazing. These really are thin and 1911 like as you said.
I run my Glock 48 stock like my other Glock calibers. No trigger swaps, no light, no optics either it a conceal carry pistol. I do have a steel magazine catch to use shield S15 9mm magazines that’s it and it runs flawlessly with those magazines all day.
The 48 is great for EDC… should be, it was made just for that. I run mine with pen mag in the gun and psa micro dagger as a backup. I also run it stock except sights.., ameriglo combat sights, and I polished the trigger…
Yo Canadian here. I walked into my local Cabelas, wanting to purchase a new hand gun. Went through a few that had the appeal but holding this gun is without a doubt a good feel. Weight distribution is perfect feels right. That’s for sure will send it down range this coming weekend. Nice made video dude, good work.
Even in the US this is a good carry option. I don’t feel undergunned with 10+1 rounds and a backup mag. I can’t think of a single problem that would be solved by 15 shots, but not 10. It’s an objectively good gun by any metric. Even if other options do specific things better, this overall package is just great. It fits my hand like it was custom sized for me. When I shoot a Glock 19 now, it feels unnecessarily bulky by comparison. With the 15 round Shield mags now available, this is the new standard to beat. Thank you Canadian gun laws (that’s a rare thing to ever say) for inadvertently creating a market demand for an improved G19.
Excellent Review - In my world, out the box the Glock 48 is an excellent conceal carry EDC firearm. With gen-2 Shield Arms S15 magazines (with a steel magazine release to match!) the Glock 48 is the Ultimate Conceal Carry firearm. My 48 has AmeriGlo Hackathor to the trigger, various springs, guide rod, etc..
If you suffer any reliability its cause yours is made in the USA. Austria marked glocks never have issues....just kidding I actually live in Georgia and have been to the Smyrna factory a glock is a glock is a glock no matter which plant assembles it. afterall all the parts are made in Austria I am pretty sure. Just the ones made in Georgia should more be called assembled in Georgia. Love my Glock 48 though its pretty bad ass for carry specially for guys with a tactical mid section with tactical love handles. It conceals like a smaller gun and it shoots like a larger gun. It really feels like a G19 Slim.
Finally a review on the 48 not done by some “tacticool” paintball wannabe military nerd. I own many glocks but looking for something to use during my suit and tie details. Thank you
Note: The Shield Arms 15 round magazines are constructed of metal, it is recommended by the manufacturer to change out the magazine catch to a metal one, which is also available from Shield Arms. Running the Metal magazines with the plastic catch will wear down and damage the catch and your stock mags eventually won't drop free. Also once the metal mag release is installed in your gun, you cannot use the Glock mags as they can be damaged by the metal mag catch and you'll have problems with them. Shield recommends either polymer to polymer or metal to metal. I recently bought 3 of the Shield mags and a catch, and I may not install it. I have a few OEM 10 round mags already for the gun, I'd like to maintain the option of using them along with the 15 round mags and I'm a bit hesitant to modify the gun (except the sights of course). I really like the pistol just as it is, it's very comfortable to carry and shoot to where I really don't mind the 10+1 all that much. I did get a Pro-Mag 15 round magazine that's made for the G48. It's metal, but has a polymer ring around it where the mag catch grabs it. I'll see how that works this week at the range...
People buy Glocks then make a bunch of changes/mods to it like sights, undercut the trigger guard, stippling grips and slide etc… why not just buy a gun that is to your liking or needs no mods straight out the box and is of equal if not even better quality: like H&K VP9, FN509, or even Whalter PDP 🤷🏽♂️
I have a Glock 48 MOS. This pistol has been a nightmare for me. First of all I put the drop in the bucket and shoot a five shot group at 10 yards, they're together but low of the center of the target. I got the group up by holding the front sight a little higher than the rear sight but I didn't want to have to keep doing that so I ordered an adjustable rear sight for it and guess what the shot group was low again. I adjusted the elevation as high as it would go and the shot group was still low. I was thinking of trying to order a higher rear sight and my other option is to just sell it. Also I have a Glock 43 and it shoots really good all of it's shot groups are dead on. I have no idea what's wrong with the Glock 48.
I like my G48 - nice fit, nice feel, carries well with IWB holster. But do not care for the factory serrated trigger. What is the factory trigger pull on your G48? How many rounds till it smoothed out? Been testing different weight rounds, 124 gr provide better accuracy, better groups over 115 gr. For future review: do a video on the CZ-75 D PCR, please.
You know owning a gun is as American as Baseball, Hotdogs, Apple pie and Chevrolet. Buying a legal firearm with no paperwork, priceless. By no paperwork I mean, uninfringed. Anything needed more than a handshake and cash is unconstitutional. In my humble opinion. Thomas Quick aka old skool and I'm just saying.
We abandoned the "uninfringed" part after Sam Giancana and the CIA killed Kennedy. I remember when my neighbor's dad got the surplus M1 Carbine he ordered from the Sears Catalog for $40 delivered to his front door by US Mail in 1964.
I just picked up a 48 last week. Love the way it feels in my hand. My only issue was the OEM magazines would consistently get hung up in the mag-well while inserting the mags. As a result the front of the mag lips started to mushroom out, which made matters worse. The Glock associate told me I was not inserting them at the “proper angle” and try using a Dremel to shave the mags down to get their product to work right. If your in a SD situation the last thing you want to worry about is inserting mags at the “proper angle”. Other than that great gun.
It’s the msg release button cause the clip is plastic and the other is metal I have g48 myself and personally I like 10 no need to change it around but I did change my sights as well to night same as my 19x😁
dude, stop.take a deep breath.exhale ....now proceed a little slower in your presentation. you are not getting paid for the number of words you can get out
I've been carrying this about a year. Feels perfect, shoot's smooth. The Trigger gets crisp, once it's broke in.

Best concealed pistol for bodyguard duty ever.
Absolutely

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐💯👍
I bought my 48 in March of 19, haven't not carried it since! I could carry it butt naked!
Outstanding Colton
I just got G48 yesterday can't wait to hit the range and get a feel for her 😁

I installed a rubber Hogue Grip on my G48 & absolutely love it

Same here, I prefer my guns in their stock configuration.
The only thing I change is the sights
the 100% thing n this world and wife joke was classic nice vid fam 💪🏾
Thanks for the info. Just bought my first Glock. I bought the 48 and this was the best explanation of the firearm.
Thank you Jeffrey hope you enjoy your new Glock!
Thank you for this review. I got this baby yesterday!
I have a 48, plus 43X & 19. My 48 is accurate & I love the thiness vs the 19. Light for my old bones
I don’t compliment often but great review, I like tidbits like the gen differences. Nice work!
PSA 15 round mags give you a "skinny" G19. Then add in a Johnny Glock "modified and improved" OEM trigger shoe, and you're good.
The 48 is great for EDC… should be, it was made just for that. I run mine with pen mag in the gun and psa micro dagger as a backup.
I also run it stock except sights.., ameriglo combat sights, and I polished the trigger…
Interesting, my Glock 48 is made in Austria. I have a Glock 42 that's made in Georgia.
I like my G48 Gen5 over my G19 Gen4. Love the feel of the slim frame!
Absolutely
Para mi estoy encantado con mi glock 48 soy muy preciso en el campo de tiro y facil de portar

My hands are definitely not big, but they ain’t baby girl hands. It’s a great feel. Peace
What is the application process like to purchase handguns in Canada?

A flat faced trigger upgrade and good night sights and the 48 becomes perfect indeed.
Exactly what I did and love it!

Outstanding Patrick good move.

What’s the difference between the Glock 48 USA and the Glock 46 Austria ??
Best thing about a glock is you can change everything and its still a glock lol.
I have a small Glock collection
G42, G19, G26, G34, G48 if I had to pick just one, I would keep my G48 best of some of all
Id keep the 19
G19 for sure.

Congrats !
How much was it if you don’t mind me asking? I found one today for $579 but I feel that comes with a Covid tax 🤣 from what I’ve read anyway 🤷🏻♂️
@@G__Mason mine was maybe ten dollars more after taxes
@@Relly2689 thanks, just wanted some confirmation I wasn’t getting ripped off
@@G__Mason wow. 489 where im at.
Just picked up a used Glock 48 with night sights and so far, l really like this pistol. By the way, my Glock 48 is made in Australia.

I have this version. Wtf can i do if i want to put on an optic and light? Can a mos 43/48slide fit the first gen Glock 48 wirh no rail?
What Ameriglo sights are those? They look just like standard white? Are they green?
Easy to rack and would you recommend it?.
The heavy metal is for…atmosphere?
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder,
whats your issue with it
Wheres the link for the mags and or accessories?

I’m left handed do anyone know to switch the Meg release to the right side of the gun ???
