  • When it comes to safety in India, it's always important to consider the safety ratings provided by the Global New Car Assessment Programme (GNCAP). GNCAP is an independent organization that conducts crash tests on vehicles and assigns safety ratings based on their performance.
    As per the GNCAP safety ratings for these three cars:
    Slavia: The Skoda Slavia has not been tested by GNCAP yet. However, it is based on MQB A0 IN platform that has scored 5 stars in the latest GNCAP Protocols in Taigun & Kushaq.
    Honda City: The Honda City has been tested by GNCAP and has received a 4-star safety rating. This indicates that the car provides excellent protection to both the driver and passengers in the event of a crash.
    Verna: The Hyundai Verna has not been tested by GNCAP yet so safety ratings are unknown.
    In summary, if safety is your primary concern, the Skoda Slavia and VW Virtus appear to be the best choice among the three cars mentioned, based on the GNCAP safety ratings. However, it's always a good idea to consider other factors such as price, features, and personal preferences when making a car purchase decision.

    Great analysis brother and I agree with every part, i don't know why but mostly so called big automobile youtubers never showed creta's and seltos plastic quality but when it comes to slavia/virtus then they always compare with something like Octavia or vento/rapid (discontinued)
    And when we had vento/rapid then as per them it lacked ambient lighting, push start, air purifier, sunroof and what not.
    Btw almost all your analysis are spot on and I really wish that this channel would get more recognition and love.

      You said it! When Rapid & Vento were there, they kept on promoting air purifier, push start and connect features and never promoted build, plastics, practical features. like one touch up down, anti pinch with build & dyanmics comparable to Audi A3.

      Absolutely loved your points.
      When car manufacturers provide sunroof then they say why sunroof (not okay for Indian summers, not ok for safety), why small sunroof (small size), why big panoramic sunroof (allows high heat load, body structural strength is reduced), why it doesn't fully open, why we can't have DJ dance and Masti party opening that sunroof and taking our heads out blah blah blah. Then when there is no sunroof they start complaining sunroof is the biggest essential feature that is missed!
      RUclipsrs do GNCAP testing just by blowing some punches on the car body and door and shut slamming the doors to checke out whether it matches with German "this".

    I wanted to express my sincere appreciation for the meticulous research and fact-finding you consistently put into your videos. Your dedication to verifying information and providing accurate, insightful content truly distinguishes your channel from others. Watching your videos is always an enjoyable and educational experience.
    As a fan of your content, I have a few suggestions for future videos that I believe would be of great interest to your audience:
    1. Detailed comparison of the latest models of other sedans in the same segment as the Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus, such as Honda City, Hyundai Verna, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. In this comparison, consider including the following points:
    a. Engine specifications and performance
    b. Fuel efficiency
    c. Ride and handling
    d. Exterior design and features
    e. Interior design, quality, and features
    f. Infotainment system and connectivity options
    g. Boot space and practicality, including actual usable boot space instead of mere numbers
    h. Pricing and value for money
    i. Headlight throw and visibility
    j. Active and passive safety features given as standard across variants
    k. Leg space for rear passengers
    l. Availability of headrests for all five passengers
    m. Suspension setup and comfort levels
    n. Noise dampening in the car cabin
    o. Service network and cost of ownership
    p. Ground clearance and manoeuvrability in different road conditions
    2. A separate video that specifically compares the features of the base variants of all these vehicles from their official sales brochures. Include a noteworthy point about the 2023 Hyundai Verna not offering Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with its base variant and discuss how Hyundai, Honda and Maruti manages to keep costs down by offering the older naturally aspirated engine technology, as opposed to the turbocharged petrol engines found in the Slavia and Virtus.
    3. Arrange the 2023 models of the Slavia and Virtus for your comparisons, to ascertain if there have been any further improvements made to the quality of the exterior and interior of these vehicles, ensuring that your audience gets the most up-to-date information possible.
    4. No other channel has compared the panel parts of each vehicle. If you can manage to arrange the panels to show the sheet metal quality used by each of such vehicles, that will be an interesting comparison and may tell us why Skoda and VW manufactured cars consistently achieve higher ratings in crash tests than others.
    These comprehensive comparisons could provide valuable insights for potential buyers and enthusiasts, helping them make informed decisions about their next vehicle purchase. Additionally, a thorough exploration of the unique features, performance, and pricing of these sedans will offer an in-depth understanding of the current sedan market.

    5% market share by 2025 seems very difficult as of now. What would be your suggestions to the brand to achieve this , personally I think the dimensions of Kushaq and Taigun are hurting them big time 😔

    • @SunderdeepSingh
      @SunderdeepSingh  Год назад +15

      I agree. They had all time of the world to come up with new SUVs and they came up with Taigun / Kushaq which literally sometimes give under 4m SUV vibes despite their many strengths. They clearly lost from day 1 itself with no pano sunroof and size advantage. This is why I consider 1700-1800 units of sedan as successful because they are bringing these numbers in a dead horse segment whereas with the same logic, mid size SUV sales should have been 3500+ monthly to be considered as successful.

    • @aniketsingh8313

      @@SunderdeepSingh tough times ahead unless they do radical changes to both the SUVs although I hear the plant is working at capacity, I think the idea was always to milk the platform for export and India was never in focus

    • @SunderdeepSingh
      @SunderdeepSingh  Год назад +10

      @@aniketsingh8313 It is not really like that. They somewhat expected a better responses for Taigun / Kushaq which they didn't get because of the onslaught from Indian car manufacturers that risk they overlooked. I do agree that they do need cars like T-Roc, Karoq, Kamiq, Polo, Fabia under 26 lacs to shine in the respective segments. They always play the catching game and fall behind.

    • @manashmahanta4984
      @manashmahanta4984 Год назад

      Even I have the same opinion. VW Taigun and Skoda kushaq are great crossovers but the dimension flaws are hurting them a lot. Look at Toyota Hyryder, creta, seltos, mg astor all of them looks a segment above kushaq and Taigun. This needs immediate improvement. No doubt VW/Skoda have their own plus points but to survive in a market like India they need to learn from Hyundai. If this was the case with Hyundai they would have changed the dimensions within 1 years. I feel while doing market research VW don't employ someone who really knows about cars in India. If the dimensions are not bang on why will someone go for a car that looks small. By the way VW troc at a price point of 19 to 25 lacs would have been cracker of a deal. I initially considered car Taigun, Jeep compass, troc and seltos. Finally I bought VW virtus gt. I cancelled Taigun only because the I felt it won't be worthy for a 20 lacs car as the road presence is missing. We need VW/ Skoda to grow in India. They should pull up socks and smash it. If build quality is improved Kia seltos is a perfect crossover at that price point. VW Taigun dimensions should be 1800 mm in width, 4300 mm in length and height is fine or else bring VW taos to India and compete directly with creta and seltos, price it little higher they will still sell. I don't know why they didn't consider the dimensions??

    • @manashmahanta4984
      @manashmahanta4984 Год назад +2

      @@SunderdeepSingh Exactly my point. They need to bring troc....there is a gap in 18 to 25 lacs segment. Jeep compass price is rising linearly, if they can launch VW troc in 18 to 25 lacs things will change. Market will be disrupted.

    Stable body shell in my view should be the base around which other features can built but without a strong shell they may not be able to help as much. Paint quality I would say Honda and Hyundai probably on par, i have a 4th gen but very difficult to maintain a new look. Vw and skoda by far leave others behind in paint quality, fit n finish, tyre sizes commensurate with the body etc. I just hope they promote and market what they excel in and stand behind the customers to ensure they earn the trust. It's mainly the hitch and fear with these cars that ends up converting into a deal with competition. I will definitely buy one of these two brands (VW / Skoda) in my next purchase. Infact I am all eyes for Tiagun for it's understated elegance yet tough build. Hope these brands keep the Indian market exciting

    VW’s biggest weakness in the Indian market is it’s biggest strength: i.e. the powerful German engine. A powerful engine will need more fuel, something that the average car buyer in India does not like to pay for. Indians want everything-German engines, high mileage and a sunroof so that they can stand in their cars. So everyone compromises and tries to get the best of everything and end up with a khichri car. That never works when you are buying a car. You should be very clear what you want and that’s why I like the conclusion of this video. Hope this educates young aspiring car buyers.

If Skoda/VW can work on increasing the dealer + service touch points across India at a faster pace, even reliability aspect will get sorted to a great extent. If that's achieved, then Maruti/Hyundai will definitely have tougher competition.

    I think the DSGs paired with 1.5 TSI and 1.2 TSI is extremely reliable even without wet clutch because I have seen many drag races on Pratham Shokeen and Daksh Ahlawat's Channel and they have launched their Virtus with DSG so many times from Neutral To Drive which a normal consumer would not even know or do with his/her car and still their DSGs never caused them trouble even though they keep pushing the car to it's limits almost everyday....
    Today , Daksh Ahlawat's Car has crossed 30k Kilometres on ODO and Pratham's Car has clocked around 21k kilometres as of writing this comment....

    2. Post some feedback to VAG by slavia users like you, have u noticed or come across any news of improving plastic quality? Like slowly merging the gap with the old German quality?
    3. Why do you think there's creaky noise in plastic? Due to lower grade of plastic? If yes, then wouldn't that fade away after sometime? ( As u said they wont fade away, i am assuming it's based on your past experience with VAG quality over the years)

    Paaji the issue of plastic creaking is there in all cars, don't know why it isn't been highlighted by many RUclipsrs... Honda City me window buttons se creaking ka sound aata hai, Creta me center console me, aur Seltos me AC controls me... Verna doesn't have any of these issues because it is made generally of single-piece plastic parts which don't make the 'rattling sound' and where multiple parts have been used, care has been taken to eliminate the sounds.
    Companies are now doing very serious cost-cutting to maximize their profits... parts we manufacture for 100 are being sold for 1000 in Hyundai service centers... isse andaaza laga lo...
    Verna's interior quality is impeccable, but it surely doesn't have the quality where it matters the most in a family car... I won't call it a luxury coffin yet, but it doesn't stand close to its rivals in terms of safety yet.

    Paaji....Aap bilkul sahi ho apne review me in all respect.
    But Indian buyers has more trust & confidence in Honda City for Reliability with Efficiency.
    Verna for Quality After-Sales Services & Service Stns Network.
    VW-Skoda Cars offers best Build & Safety. But lacks in Service Stn Network. And buyers fears their past history of High Maintenance Charges.
    As you are also aware of our Chaotic Indian Traffic, poor driving sense & bad roads. Unwanted Small collision do happen very often damaging front & rear bumpers, headlamp-taillamps.
    That's the time you require nearest Service Stn & immediate Spares replacements.
    And that where Hyundai & Maruti.... scores over competition.
    The above is possible because they have very strong portfolio from entry level affordable small hatch to Sedan alongwith big Sales nos.
    And thats what the VW-Skoda & many others are not able match.
    Aap sirf 4.3 Mts SUV & Sedan se logo ka trust, Confidence, Safety offer karke 2-3% (5 - 7,000) se jyada Sales nahi improve kar sakte ho.
    That's what I feel very strongly as I have Analysed from Car Owners from my friends & Relative groups from B, C - Cities & Rural areas.
    Jab tak Service Stn 20-30 kms range me nahi hoga, Indians will refrain from buying the best of the cars though many are capable buying ₹15-20 lac Cars.
    Co. keep on concentrating on Metros & A-City Only for big Sales nos. & forgetting others is a big mistake.

    • @SunderdeepSingh
      @SunderdeepSingh  Год назад +2

      I beg to disagree. If this was the thing then no Hyundai cars would ever score a good rating in Euro NCAP but they mostly do. Second, if this was the thing, they must have been exposed by someone now as GNCAP / Euro / ASEAN comes from developed countries where press freedom is top-ranked and investigative journalism exists. Last, VW Polo scored 3 stars in the latest Latin NCAP and have effected the sales as well. Passat has scored poorly in China. There are many examples. Renault fared poorly in many tests too in GNCAP. Polo first scored Zero in GNCAP because of missing airbags. Last, whichever cars are 5 stars in India, we generally notice that their on-road safety record is good too. You won't find them mangled like a piece of paper of getting into pieces.
