On a recent test drive of a brand new Land Rover, the salesman explained to me for 30 minutes about all the tech and how, with Bluetooth, he could change the temperature of the passenger seat while on the other side of the country. In what world is this a usable feature? He did not, however, know if the engine was supercharged.
The new Defender may do off road well when new and all sensors are working, but treat it like this for 20 years and see if it still is on the road.

@@rvtech101 here in the States we only got Land rovers for a few years back in the 1990s, The d90 and 110 were 1993 to 1997 (all gas 3.5 liters no diesels), I could never afford one and now a US spec landie 110 is well over 100 grand. The earlier rovers we got I think were imported here through 1974 but in the 50s and '60s there were so many good American 4x4s that were comparable You don't hardly ever see a Rover I can't imagine too many were imported here. Especially when you had the Ford bronco, The Jeep commando, The Jeep CJ5, The International scout and all the solid axle full size SUVs and pickups. That definitely was the golden age of 4x4s But I'm getting off subject.
15ish years ago I used to buy Range Rover classics which were imported here (from 1987 to 1995) for pretty reasonable price And they were an absolutely excellent solid axle 4x4's, extremely capable off-road for a stock truck and they rode nice for a 4x4. My only complaint was that 3.5 liter was a bit gutless in that heavy truck but all and all They were good trucks.
