    • @Swiftyswift
      @Swiftyswift 29 дней назад +2

      You can clearly see the driver swung wide to the left and used all the room available, he clearly did not hit any curbs.. If he would’ve hit that small curve it still wouldn’t be enough to flip a heavy load. This is clearly shipper error as the load was lined up single file down the center of the truck with no bracing and slid to the left. I called the company that used cranes to lift the trailer up. They had to unload it before they could pick it up and all the skids were on the left of the trailer single file. No bracing. Driver picked it up and got his bills at the guard shack, drop and hook, pre loaded by the shipper and sealed.

    • @BrutusHeartthrob
      @BrutusHeartthrob 29 дней назад +1

      @@SwiftyswiftOk but still U of all ppl should know that swift tells drivers to take right turns at 5mph and left turns at 8mph, as well as take exit ramps at 1/2 posted speed, it;s to prevent this regardless of Load securement.. Plus if U look at the 2nd turn notice how the lane divide line is about centered with the passenger seat, which means his passenger side trailer tires are cutting it close due to lack of proper swing (he really only swung the tractor) that is not enough room to swing that meaning its likely the trailer jumped the curb and shifted it.. driver error regardless of whatever stupid shipper loaded it..

    Sometimes the load doesnt have to have a high COG. Ive pulled steel coils that weighed 46k and only had 4 coils on the floor, they were only about 4 ft high off the floor. The OO that pickdd up ahead of me had them shift toward the driver side making the trailer lean to the left real bad. He had to take right turns in granny low and swing wide to keep the trailer tires on the pavement. We made it to the consignee and he got unloaded but had to wait a long time because the reciever needed to get a tow truck to pull the coils to the rear of the trailer befoee putting the forks under them. 6:16 the roof of that trailer looks like it was hit hard from the inside too.

    OMG That's the Loves Truck Stop in Dublin GA. I used to go there whenever I do a Savannah route, but the problem is that it's one of the worst Loves, because of holding up the stations, very few parking and some of the staff members in Loves and Subway are mean as hell.

    Agreed. Slow down and swing wide. A shift in your load can happen at any time.

    I had a bad experience with flooring myself. They load the 3 ft pallets side by side down the middle of the trailer. I took a turn a little too sharp and the whole load shifted against 1 wall. When I opened the doors, the floor was slick from a previous load for whatever reason, but from then on I always chocked that stuff. Had to get some guys with airbags to push the pallets back to center.

    My guess driving like a cowboy taking turns that fast shifted the load the first fast hard turn. My years of driving the old school days pulling bull rack, lowboys, dry vans and grain hoppers I always took my turns with ease and swung wide because it's a friken semi-trailer!

    I think that his load might have shifted on the first turn he made... I was watching the marking on the pavement, the yellow arrow on the second turn to where his truck started to go over... He was barely into the turn when it started to go over and his tractor really didn't even get to the arrow... That's my two cents worth... If he has twenty years experience, it's all in his head... When I drove I always carried " swinging go-go girls " on the hook... If your an ole time trucker you will know exactly what I mean... From Texas to Farmer's Market in NYC... Now, those were top heavy loads....

    I don't feel myself he is going to fast. You are right on loads. I have drove many loads that have load shifts. You can tell on the sidewalls because of bulging. The driver swinged wide. I would say which has happened to me as I said and the previous driver shifted the load. Most tile loads ain't loaded like this but if down the middle can go to the side. One thing from the video is grateful the car on the second turn it didn't flip. And the drivers are alright.

    Back in the day our trailers had a peek-a-boo window on the door so we could check out the load. One time I had been given paperwork for a sealed trailer that the shipper forgot to actually load. When I went back to the office to discuss what I discovered they got all pissy because they thought I broke the seal.
