The load shifted slightly on the 1st turn and fully shifted on that 2nd turn
That's what Im thinking. That 1st turn look pretty fast..lol
Exactly!
@dustingamboa5494 how fast is a turn ?
@@jonathangalvan9199 anything faster than a tortoise is too fast for swift drivers, imo.
Either way he caused the shift. Way too fast on the first. He paid for it on the second still going too fast. See a pattern here?
Doing this anywhere would be embarrassing enough, but to do it in a truck stop would simply be downright humiliating.
You just know those guys sitting up ahead (the ones that were awake, that is) instantly grabbed their mikes and started saying something like…”good Lord, ol’ Swifty Swift just rolled his truck right here at the entrance, haha!”
It's been done before.seenit done on i84 in Oregon leaving the truck scale to get back into i84 west bound ramp 50yrds from scales house..that's more impressive .it was Farwell bend Oregon scales..talk about carma....😅the on ramp is angled to the left to allow drainage already an accident waiting to happen 😳
Yes
Slow down
It scares me watching the video
His load went from drop and hook to hook and lift!
😂😂😂
I keep telling people to slow down, but MFERS think it's Nascar in the parking lot🤷♂️
Well Some Just Don't Listen , But Thanks For The Reminder 👍✌️
I particularly used to love the idiots who would try to be cool by cruising through the truck stop lots with their jake on. I called one fool out on it one day, and he told me that his boss and the head mechanic at their shop told him to never shut the jake off. I then told him that he was working for an idiot who hires idiots.
Cmon driver,it's called doin the 500 for a reason
Certain class of drivers do that, they also like to camp at the fuel pumps for their 30 min breaks too. IYKYK
@@HrdcoreSupra 💯👍👍✌️🚚
Yeah his load might have shifted but I'm leaning more towards stupid here. We all know Swift drivers can destroy a steel ball with a rubber hammer.
exactly - no where near impossible
yep load shift on first turn 2nd turn done
Mega shippers know what they can get away with mega carriers 😅ive seen many brand new trailers collapsed on the anhiserher Busch lots st.louis., Busch gardens. Va. Ft.collins Co. Columbus Ohio a small town off interstate 80 in California. On my way to Otay Mesa CA. Just to name a few 😂
Shippers love mega carriers they have free range 😂 no repercussions for destroying trailers 😅mega carriers just write it off....cost of doing business 👍anh.busch is not the only ones don't get me started on paper mills. And many othrrs
Swift trailer. Lease driver?
I was always taught, if you got the room, whether you need it or not, USE IT!
That is exactly what I tell my trainees. If you have the room, use ALL of it!
You can clearly see the driver swung wide to the left and used all the room available, he clearly did not hit any curbs.. If he would’ve hit that small curve it still wouldn’t be enough to flip a heavy load. This is clearly shipper error as the load was lined up single file down the center of the truck with no bracing and slid to the left. I called the company that used cranes to lift the trailer up. They had to unload it before they could pick it up and all the skids were on the left of the trailer single file. No bracing. Driver picked it up and got his bills at the guard shack, drop and hook, pre loaded by the shipper and sealed.
@@SwiftyswiftOk but still U of all ppl should know that swift tells drivers to take right turns at 5mph and left turns at 8mph, as well as take exit ramps at 1/2 posted speed, it;s to prevent this regardless of Load securement.. Plus if U look at the 2nd turn notice how the lane divide line is about centered with the passenger seat, which means his passenger side trailer tires are cutting it close due to lack of proper swing (he really only swung the tractor) that is not enough room to swing that meaning its likely the trailer jumped the curb and shifted it.. driver error regardless of whatever stupid shipper loaded it..
@Swiftyswift no he simply turned too fast
20+ years experience and still leasing in a mega carrier.... That explains everything right there
prisoner
LOL in the early 2000`s I started with swift in Laredo Tx. Their safety officer was a safety officer because he had totaled his own truck and lost his CDL, so swift thought he would make a great safety officer. True story.
Yea . I drove 4 cfi in early 2000s we had a terminal there. My safety officer told me the same story he said to give swift all kinds of room and stay away from all swift trucks. Jut try to help them when you can especially when they're trying to park 😢
This was the way trucking used to be help your fellow driver he may have the tampons on his trailer your wife and daughter needs .or the bathroom tissue you need.😮
That's how most safety officers are selected regardless of industry.
@@johncothren8861 failing upward?
@@jackrabbit4383yeah, like Kamala Harris!
He had to hurry and get into the fuel island to block other drivers out!!!!!!!!
😂😂😂
Yea he did...he only had 1 minute left before his 30
He just blocked half of the truckstop instead 😂
OMG you guys are funny!😊
That is one heck of a trainer. Went above and beyond to show what not to do.
Really??? 😂😂😂
Since the evolution of the new automatic trucks, people started driving like they’re in cars on a Sunday stroll
Absolutely, correct.
Yea what he said
i think u should learn on a manual because you about the gears and how to slow down by down shifting and trying to be in the right gear, u can do this in a auto if u understand the concepts ,
100%
@@harryknutts8428I was about to say the same thing, I can still go down the mountain without hitting the brakes in an automatic. You just have to know how to use your brake and make it shift
Sounds more like 20 days instead of 20 years experience
Evidently he was going to fast or just don't know how to drive. There's no reason to be going over 10 mph into a parking lot. Even that's too fast. He screwed up. Don't blame it on Love's. They don't want you driving on the grass or jumping curbs.
@Bone_Thug Lmao, were you the driver in the clip? What a lame ass excuse. Do you also drive into other stationary objects and blame people for the objects being there?
There’s a reason he has 20 years (if that’s even true) and still driving for a mega carrier.
I watch my trailer tandems in the mirrors around every turn I make without fail. On both sides. Don't plan to ever not watch them. It's a habit I've ingrained into my subconscious.
Me too! I can't go slow enough on a ramp!😊
If I was the Swifty Dfriver, I would not say anything to my boss, maybe he won’t notice!
To be perfectly honest He probably wonders how he flipped it also😂😂
I think he caught the guard rail with the trailer.
My thought too
First thing I thought too.
I did as well.
I thought so too. Didn't look like he swung wide enough when he made the corner plus the guard rail was curved making it easier for the trailer to climb it. Coupled with speed and other factors, we have mayhem
My thoughts! Was trying to watch side Mirror but I can’t really make it out!
😂 THEY CAN ONLY GO FAST IN TRUCK STOPS NOT ON THE HIGHWAY
And construction zones.
The truck needed a 10 hour break 😂😂
It got broken alright.
Lol
Ol Swifty swift was tired, he pulled in to take a nap. A horizontal 😴 nap, 😀.
The impossible was caught on camera 🤯🤯🤣🤣
It looks to me like it was probably standing roles of flooring that shifted. The way the roof was buckled was a clue. He didn't really look to be going too fast for a normal load, but standing roles are almost as dangerous as swing meat.
Yeah I'm not faulting the driver
He was having a "Super Trucker " Moment and it bit him in the Ass !😂🤣🤣👌
In a hurry for a SODY WATER AND A CHEEZEBURGRRR!
So-deee water😂
Thought He was still in his Prius😂
slow down BEFORE the curve
Driving too fast is the cause. I think the drivers 20 years of experience gave him a certain level of cockiness in his ability that ended in this best in crash.
The drivers company had a camera that showed the speed of the truck and totally exonerated the driver. The video you saw was from a drive cam he bought off Amazon and looks faster than it actually is.
My Uncle went to apply at Swift, aced the driving test, medical called him in, and told him with the medications he took and they couldn't let him drive for them. The next day they called him and asked him when could he start.
They had their chance, he shouldn't work there. 😂
@@chris76-01 He's not. He told him what happened and asked why he wasn't good yesterday but now he is....he hung up as soon as they started talking again. I love my Uncle, but he is so far away😢
My bet is that he caught that guard rail with his trailer tire .
Maybe he was in 'Georgia Overdrive'.....ha ha
He’s taking 10hr brake at the entrance 🤣
Yes he was a swiftly swift driver and the flooring was lined up down the center of the trailer single file and was not braced. He didn’t hit the curb as Ike suggested, you can tell he swung wide to the left lane and even though his drive cam footage looked like he might have been going fast the company camera exhilarated him totally and this went down in the books as shipper error and the driver did not lose his job.
Swifty swift must of been wearing flip flops....
I think the trailer was on the guardrail and that’s wat made it flip over
No, you can see by all the footage that the driver swung wide and where the trailer ended up is a clear indication of that!
You know what annoys me is when I pick up a preloaded/presealed trailer and you have no clue if they used load locks
Or in this case floor bracing as it was loaded down the center of the trailer with no floor bracing.
@@Swiftyswift honestly I don’t think I’ve had a load yet that used floor bracing. I work for MAY TRUCKING
Most times you can ask or figure it out
@@jasonavitable7024I have. Nails were too short and pulled out of the floor. Load out of Mexico
Definitely do more of these analysis videos I think this might help some people
If you are loaded, drive like it is going to shift period. No Excuses
At least he was swingin wide 😂
"See What I f---ed up Today" LMAO
He looked like he was pretty well out of the turn and straight when it flipped, must have been going fast with some sort of a load shift.
The driver just went to get his flip flops while the truck took a nap... A normal day in a swifty world.
Dublin Ga Loves, I-16 x49. And that's the only truck entrance / exit. When I ran hotshot, I would fuel at the car pumps as the truck pumps were a mess to get in and out of. (Shyte Show!) I'm sure there were plenty of PO'd drivers stuck in there!
😂 OOO SHUCKS!!, HE PLAYING DEAD 😂
RIP 💀💀💀
😂😂😂
I worked at a Service Merchandise back in the 80s and 90s. We loaded a trailer maybe just a little heavy on one side. Well, you know the outcome.
Sometimes the load doesnt have to have a high COG. Ive pulled steel coils that weighed 46k and only had 4 coils on the floor, they were only about 4 ft high off the floor. The OO that pickdd up ahead of me had them shift toward the driver side making the trailer lean to the left real bad. He had to take right turns in granny low and swing wide to keep the trailer tires on the pavement. We made it to the consignee and he got unloaded but had to wait a long time because the reciever needed to get a tow truck to pull the coils to the rear of the trailer befoee putting the forks under them. 6:16 the roof of that trailer looks like it was hit hard from the inside too.
You’re 100 percent right. Marble floor tiles on skids lined up single file down the center of the trailer with no bracing. Pre sealed drop and hook at the shipper, bills at guard shack. Both shipper and carrier have a do not break seal policy.
You know the old saying, if life gives you lemons make lemonade. Well, if he was hauling apples he could make apple turnovers 😀
Funny!😊
He’s just living up to the “best in crash” that Swifty swift is
AND ITS THE NEW T680 MY EYES THAT POOR BEAUTIFUL TRUCK
Wow. There it is. He is going way to fast😂❤
He wasn't going fast , was something wrong with a cargo? A slight curb hop wouldn't normally flip the whole rig.
You are 100 percent right.
OMG That's the Loves Truck Stop in Dublin GA. I used to go there whenever I do a Savannah route, but the problem is that it's one of the worst Loves, because of holding up the stations, very few parking and some of the staff members in Loves and Subway are mean as hell.
Yup, used to stop there all the time
Not too mention the truck entrance is on a downhill slope too, video doesn’t show elevation changes very well either
Agreed. Slow down and swing wide. A shift in your load can happen at any time.
I had a bad experience with flooring myself. They load the 3 ft pallets side by side down the middle of the trailer. I took a turn a little too sharp and the whole load shifted against 1 wall. When I opened the doors, the floor was slick from a previous load for whatever reason, but from then on I always chocked that stuff. Had to get some guys with airbags to push the pallets back to center.
Heck ya take that turn as fast as possible. Tokyo Drift style! never slow down for a turn seconds matter get less cpm. count them pennies.
I don't think that Swift driver fully grasps the concept of laying down to take a nap...
I’m 30 years on a flatbed and since day one I have changed my driving with what was on my trailer. Know your load period.
Stuff like this is why I've always called them "notso" trucking!
If he was going faster and watched the Dukes of hazzard more he should of kept it on 9 wheels and went though the fuel island backwards 😂😂😂😂
It must be part of the requirements of the mentoring to teach the rookies how to lay it over😂
I spent 3 days at Cheyenne flying j waiting for 80 to open west bound got to almost Laramie Wyoming Wyoming and guess what I seen on the West side of Elk Mountain,a set of swift doubles all over both lanes of travel to the west lanes.I slept right there until Wyoming troopers finished their hot chocolate and decided to go to work WHAT A WINTER TIME JOKE FOR SURE LOL
Yup Total load Shift and going like Cole Trickle in Days of Thunder
If you don’t mind, I’m going to use this in my training.
But did the seal break?😂😂Ike for President and Johnnie Mack for vice president ❤❤
He was hurrying to beat the ELD, but didn't make it. The ELD said, "It's time to lay down."
Hilarious
Damn° Must Have A REAL BAD CROSS WIND at the entrance!... 😅😅😂😅😂!...
this is why you sweep the trailer out. plastic pellets act like ball bearings under pallets. makes it easy for load to shift
My guess driving like a cowboy taking turns that fast shifted the load the first fast hard turn. My years of driving the old school days pulling bull rack, lowboys, dry vans and grain hoppers I always took my turns with ease and swung wide because it's a friken semi-trailer!
Like you say Ya can kinda feel it!
we have all had those loads ya cant look at ya Kinda feel it!!
I had one shift but i didn't roll the the truck
Loaded Formica MT. Bethel Pennsylvania.
sheets of Formica 4 X 12 SKIDS were that size too "not pallets"
one side the wooden leg collapsed on one side the whole load was leaning
on the trailer wall Load was going to Maine I made it to Mass & brought it back to pa
I agree with you 💯.
Two things happened.
Going too fast, and the load shifted
his rolls of flooring rolled and ......FIRST IN CRASH!
I think that his load might have shifted on the first turn he made... I was watching the marking on the pavement, the yellow arrow on the second turn to where his truck started to go over... He was barely into the turn when it started to go over and his tractor really didn't even get to the arrow... That's my two cents worth... If he has twenty years experience, it's all in his head... When I drove I always carried " swinging go-go girls " on the hook... If your an ole time trucker you will know exactly what I mean... From Texas to Farmer's Market in NYC... Now, those were top heavy loads....
I pulled a load of agrigate in bags to Laredo tx. From just look at the box I could tell it was tipped. It took me more time to get it from houston to Laredo. I was VERY careful around corners.
He swung wide and really wasn't going that fast.
Must have been gravity failure.
He “swung too wide”! Lol
I don't feel myself he is going to fast. You are right on loads. I have drove many loads that have load shifts. You can tell on the sidewalls because of bulging. The driver swinged wide. I would say which has happened to me as I said and the previous driver shifted the load. Most tile loads ain't loaded like this but if down the middle can go to the side. One thing from the video is grateful the car on the second turn it didn't flip. And the drivers are alright.
looks like the truck was tried and didn't want to go any further and wanted to take a nap right there
Hauled bananas before and they're extremely top heavy aka high loaded. Scared the crap out of me when I went around that first corner.
Back in the day our trailers had a peek-a-boo window on the door so we could check out the load. One time I had been given paperwork for a sealed trailer that the shipper forgot to actually load. When I went back to the office to discuss what I discovered they got all pissy because they thought I broke the seal.
New t-shirt for the steering wheel holders- SPEED KILLS U OR UR TRUCK.
Careless , is the word i would use
Wimd, he swung it enough. It's loaded wrong I'd say
He just wanted to see what that flooring would look like on the ceiling!
😂😂😂
Roofing 😂
That at the love on I -16 in Dublin Ga
Yeah , That's The Love's Dublin Ga I-16 4 Sure , Yikes !!! 😱
Damn he was going to fast and the load shifted and was top heavy
That sir is the Loves in Dublin Ga and yes there is only one way in and out for trucks there. Exit 49 on I-16.
Great video and commentary
Yes I agree, I wouldn't call carpet..flooring...but if it is carpet....rolls , stacked high.... yep
He had more fuel in the left tank than the right😂😂😂
IKE FOR PREZ!!! OH YEAH!
Seen tile flooring loaded right down the middle
I remember going to the swift terminal in Pueblo Colorado. They had a training school there but it was long since closed. The story was that students that trained there had a higher number of accidents.
Loves Dublin Ga. I live right up the street.
Speed and hooked the guard rail!!!!!!!
That takes talent.
Everyone knows Swifty is Best in Crash, but this "veteran driver" really outdid it this time😂😂😂😂😂😂
YES IT IS!! SPEED!!!
There is rubber flooring (looks like runner-type stuff) on really tall pallets.
Heavy carpet loaded top heavy, laminate flooring not packed in tight or strapped down, or near straight lined ceramic tiles. When made turn onto lot he caught curb. Once trailer started laying over there was no stopping it.
Ike for President!
I think he rode his tandems up onto that guard rail, and just launched the trailer.
