      Sometimes at shippers they don’t have a certain product available to load yet. I don’t agree with that, since they ordered a truck, but it’s fact. Driver thinks the other driver is picking up the same item, but may not be. Other times scheduling of delivery date and drive time to make the appointment dictates on the shippers end. Shippers even have staff rotations on different days the incoming staff might not be aware trucks are waiting. It’s up to the shipper to sort it out, not the driver. Driver should have went to dock personnel or shipping office, with a good attitude

    • @MikeDCWeld
      @MikeDCWeld Год назад +1

      some areas simply don't have much truck parking available and the parking locations tend to stay full. In those cases, drivers pretty much have to choose between arriving a day early, if the customer allows it, or driving an extra hour or more just to wait around to get loaded and on their way. Their clocks are rolling that whole time too, unless they have a sleeper berth and the wait passes 2 hours.
      2 days early is a bit much unless they're almost out of hours. The one's that showed up that early were almost certainly looking to start the trip with full clocks. I'll bet that they were all very long trips with no more than a week to complete.

Just to be told the load I was there to pick up left 4 days ago.. then had to sit for 2hrs until my planners dispatchers and customer service figured out what to do. • @MikeDCWeld
      @MikeDCWeld Год назад +3

      He may well have been instructed to dock there. Most places I've gone, you are told to park and wait for a call or text with your dock assignment, but occasionally they tell you to go ahead and back into a specific door. I suspect that's what happened with the driver from Canada. The other two drivers were either way early or there was some sort of issue with their loads that wasn't affecting the Canadian driver's load. It could be that the Canadian driver's load was being prioritized by the shipper for some reason and that was holding up the other two drivers' loads. Only someone in that shipping department could tell us for sure.

    not understanding the first guy's issue. kind of reminds me when some random driver got all butthurt because my appointment was before his. parked on the street blocking me from being able to get into the dock, refused to move like half a tractor length because he was mad i showed up after him and got into the dock first? like idk dude, i had an appointment and went where receiving told me to go. sucks to suck. a few pull ups later and i shoved the trailer where i wanted it. i hate backing in from the street. gave me the one finger salute as i left and to this day i still don't know if he was just on meth or what.
