What was your first ever ukulele?
A very, very cheap Mahalo.
@@timothyking8650 me too! Ha
This ukulele was actually my first ukulele! Technically my first ukulele was the uke that I played in 5th grade for music class at school, but this was actually the first uke I bought for myself!
This one actually xD bought it 2018.
I have this one and it is really really good. But after a few years the pricetag went up on it quite much higher almost 50 percent more expensive than when it came out. Love your aussie accent it sounds very exotic!
How lucky to get in early! Even with the price rise, Kmise make such affordable ukuleles with great quality for the price you pay.
Thank you for the kind compliment! I get a little self conscious about my accent on a global platform, so this is lovely to hear.
The ukulele is a great instrument i played guitar before switching to ukulele and i will say this, no other instrument put a smile on my face like the soprano ukulele i just love it.Congrats on your new uke.
It really is! It really does spread joy. Our family pulled out ukuleles at Christmas and even those who didn’t play lit up!
How long have you been playing uke now?
Thank you ☺️
@@YouandBreeMusicTutorials I’ve been playing for 2 years now and i played the uke this Christmas as well with my brother who play the saxophone. Both instrument mix very well together.
@@joeylabranche1014 Music at Christmas is just the best. Sax and uke, what a combo! Two very heart warming instruments. ❤️
Thank you this video helped so much, you have no idea!
:)
You are very welcome. I am so glad to hear this. If you get one of these ukuleles, I'd love to hear about your experience too. :)
Nice looking uke. Looks like you have your hands full with adorable Poppy. 😃
Oh I really do! She is such a sweet and good girl, but still keeps me busy. ☺️
I look forward to her joining us a little more peacefully in future. 😂
Which link goes to this ukulele?
Kind of backwards that I had already order this Uke last week and while waiting for it to arrive, I'm researching it.
I really enjoyed your review, but I do wonder if mine will come with the picks, and the finger shaker. These items aren't listed in the Amazon listings. Maybe you got lucky?
Thanks for the great review! can't Having never even held a Uke before, I can't wait to see your follow up review on this Uke.
Oh.. and the new pup.. Need more pup on the next video!
I’m glad to hear you have one of these on the way! It is a lovely uke, and I will certainly post more videos with it soon. It is really beautiful to play. I especially love the strings. They are D’addario strings and really nice on the fingers.
I was surprised by the picks and finger shaker too! I hope you get these also.
Little Poppy will certainly feature in future videos. She is a little sweet heart.
@@YouandBreeMusicTutorials Mine showed up today but with out the picks or the finger shaker. It also didn't come with a battery for the tuner. Stupid me was thinking should I just buy a battery or exchange it? Then it hit me I can just use a phone app. LOL.
So far, about the only thing I've been able to do it tune it. I've been checking it about once an hour and every time I've checked, it needed to be tweaked to get it back in tune. I did figure out how to play do-re-me.... LOL.. Got me excited.
There is one thing I noticed about this right away, the strings don't hurt my finger tips when I press them against a fret. This is a huge win for me since when I tried guitar about 10 years ago, I gave up within a week because of the pain...
Can't wait for some more vids!
@@crabjoe that is a shame yours didn’t come with the finger shaker or picks. Are you in Australia? Perhaps it is an Amazon Au thing.
My battery was loose in the tuner box and I almost missed it. Could be worth checking if it is stuck in the instruction pamphlet. Phone apps are great for tuning, but your tuner will be handy if you decide to join a group of other musicians as it tunes off the vibrations of the wood rather than a microphone.
It will need some tweaking while the strings settle.
I have a playlist of tutorials for beginners on my channel that you may find useful. ☺️
The strings are lovely. Out of all of my ukuleles, these strings have been the softest and sweetest. 🎶
@@YouandBreeMusicTutorials I was thinking maybe it was missing because I'm in the US, but when I looked up the listing on Amazon's Aussie site, it looked the same. I think you got lucky or someone really likes you. ;-)
As for the missing battery, I'm not too worried. I've got a violin I ordered on the way and that's supposed to come with a tuner too. I'll probably never be able to play the violin, but I've always wanted to, so I bought one.
I'm no musician, but I did look for a Ukulele club. There is one in Baltimore, but they stopped meeting. I'm guessing it's because of Corona. I can't wait for this pandemic to be over so I can just get out. Go boating, fishing, skiing and of course, get to a few Uke club meetings to get some pointers since they said they welcome complete beginners!
I'll be sure to check out your beginner tutorials because I need all the help I can get!
Thank you, and I hope you're having a wonderful New Year!
@@crabjoe Perhaps I did get lucky then!
Oh I am glad you have another tuner on the way. The violin is such a beautiful instrument. I hope your learning experience with it goes well.
Sadly, so many ukulele clubs have had to stop due to the pandemic. I feel very grateful to be in Australia where our restrictions have eased again due to low case numbers. Hopefully, things start to improve over there for you too. I think you'll find ukulele clubs to be very supportive and motivating.
My mom just ordered one for me!!!
How great! Has it arrived? How is it?
@@YouandBreeMusicTutorials I love it! I've learned a couple songs and several notes. Gives me really bad blisters on my thumb and hurts my other fingers but I LOVE playing it!!
@@SummerLyne This is great! The blisters and pain will ease with time. You'll end up feeling like you have wax-covered fingers and they will be super strong with practice. What songs have you learned?
@@YouandBreeMusicTutorials "I lava you" "Riptide"(still trying to remember it completely) and "This is home" by Cavetown:)
@@SummerLyne what gorgeous songs! I got so emotional the first time I watched The Lava Song. It is so very sweet.
Sorry, that's not a flat back. There is a slight arch. Arches can very. In this one, it narrows toward the neck and is thicker at the lower bout on the side view. You can test it by holding the back of the body against a wall. If it were flat, the entire back would be touching the wall with no rocking. Most ukuleles do NOT seem to be flat backed (with the exception of sopranos) gauging from my experience.
Thanks for the correction
is it battery powered (i know it sounds stupid but in the description it says it takes batteries)
I think that’s a reasonable question.
Many ukuleles have a battery if they have a pick up (plug into an amplifier).
However, this one does not.
It will say that it comes with a battery because this model comes with a clip on tuner which does require a battery.
I hope this helps.
@@YouandBreeMusicTutorials Oh okay thank you so much, that’s cleared everything up. You’ve earned my sub and lovely dog
Theo my tenor
👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻🤠💯
What a great name for a tenor.
Time waster. Thirteen minutes it took before you plucked a note. Did you name the brand?
Sorry that you found this a waste of time. The name is in the video. Everyone’s interests are unique, so it is impossible to please everyone. You’ll find all of my videos have chapters. This particular video I made 24 chapters that are all titled. The one titled ‘sound’ is for people who want to hear it straight away.
When I used to create, I did my best, but I understand my style isn’t for everyone. If you’ve created your own reviews that you feel are more helpful for people like yourself, feel free to reply with a link.
