Yeah, another thing to add is that you can add a perch and fill it with nesting material for the birds to take.
LOL! I'm not paying even $35 for a bird house, but this is a GREAT idea if I ever find one at the Goodwill or somewhere else cheap. LOVE this idea!

When you said you put new strings on, you said “low G string”. So does that mean that each string was a G? Sorry. New-ish uke player
@@vivatorria the ukulele is still tuned at G-C-E-A standard tuning but the Low G string that I replaced is just making the G string sound a little deeper. The rest of strings are the exact same.

@@vivatorria when you order Low G strings they come with all for 4 strings. You can choose to either just switch out the G string and leave the rest as is or switch out all 4. I usually just change all 4 strings to the new strings.

I started playing uke on a mahalo soprano uke that was about £25-ish that we had in house but I decided to pick up one day. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. It got me playing basic chords and starting to learn songs. A couple of months after that I saved up my birthday money and bought myself a flight Elise concert uke. I've now been playing for over a year now. To any beginners who want to learn, use any ukulele that is at least £25 pounds that should get you something playable. If possible get a budget of around 40/50 as that will get you a better product that will last longer. I don't use that first uke anymore but it still got me started on an amazing journey!

This actually helped a lot with deciding what uke I should buy! I do personally think though that the Luna Concert Tattoo ukulele deserves a spot on this list as it’s $75 and plays extremely well :)

Honestly, this ukulele is very popular, but the Luna ukes aren’t very professional ukuleles. Their QC isn’t very good, and they aren’t listed on professional ukulele dealer sites. Also, they’re 90 dollars where I am.

Lunas are extremely hit or miss. They have really bad QC. If you get a good one, they're solid. If not, they need a lot of work.
ernestryles hi, this comment was about 6 months ago, and since then I’ve realised somethings about the uke, I realised the body warped after a tiny bit of heat, and I live in the U.K, and the neck warped at 10° Celsius, so I can agree with you on that

Still using my 14 year old ukulele.. with major repairs after accidentally stepping on it then repaired it myself. Got it for ₱350 or a little under $7. Got through hell and back with it lol

I just started my ukulele lessons last week. I bought a kala concert uke and I was getting discouraged thinking my hands were too big as I fat finger the strings, especially with my middle finger but you played these so elegantly! I'm a hefty guy so you've given me some hope.

I am proud to announce that today I bought a seafoam green Fender California coast ukulele. She's a beaut. And 100% worth the $200 I spent on her. I literally walked into guitar center and we looked each other in the eyes and I knew I couldn't leave without bringing home Janice "Fender" Joplin.
Its easter... my parents said I can pick something off Amazon under $20 to get and I want a uke

I saw you at last year's LA International ukulele festival.
I have puchased several Vorsons. I agree, stock they sound okay but not great. After lubricating the tuners, adding a side sound port and changing the strings they sounf quite nice.😊 They sound good with pickups installed too. 😁

I bought a concert Fazley uke to start with for about 35 dollars and I'm very happy with it. Not the best, but surely playable with a pleasant sound!

Thank you! If the Flight Tenor Ukulele NUT 310 is not offered on Amazon or anywhere else right now - which other Flight would you recommend? I love the clear bright sound - but it also has a depth - so pretty to hear. Not muffled like some others in the beginner category.
If you were to make another, if you already haven’t, I suggest the Makala dolphin or shark soprano ukuleles. It’s what I started on. 🤗

The Vorson ukulele seems pretty sturdy and water resistant that’s for sure.
Try the Aklot ukuleles. Sounds warm and rich for a $70-$110 budget uke.

If you are ordering from Flight from the U.S. you have to order from Musicroom. The U.S. (at this time) can't order directly from Flight -- unless something recently changed-- sometimes that is a big bummer. Musicroom some times takes time to get your order because they ship from all over Europe. They also don't communicate a lot, but you will eventually get your "stuff" and they pack things well. Flight's travel ukes are great for a lower price. They don't sound a rich as a wood uke, but they project well and stay in tune fairly quickly. They are also durable and easy to travel with. Also, when you order from Musicroom, they use Euros so It is almost the same as U.S. dollars, if you bought in Pounds Sterling you would pay a lot more in U.S. dollars. They appear to be in England, so I was surprised that they were not charging cost with Pounds. Flight is a company started by a husband and wife, Flight's line of ukes are gradually expanding. Baz from Got A Ukulele seems to really like the quality of Flight. They (Flight) have expanded their line to solid wood ukes.

Hricane ukuleles are pretty affordable and you can find them on Amazon. flight ukuleles are a little better quality but are also a little bit more money but not too bad :) Hope it helps

I bought an octopus uke for my first one and that was about £20-25 and yes it wasn't the best quality, but it got me started. Once I actually had formed a proper interest I bought one that was about £75 and I've had it for about 3 years, best purchase I ever made, it sounds nicer than the one that my friend bought that was more expensive XD.

What size do you normally or moat comfortably play? I find on soprano especially on B flat my fingers can barely all fit to play it. most of the time when im pushing straight down a part of one finger touches another string ...the margin or error is like 1mm ..if im 1mm off i touch another string..i m wondering if a bigger uke will give my fingers more space.
Not a whole lot of difference in tone between the $66 and $25 ukes, is there?
Slight difference but in general not too much. I think investing in good strings can make almost any ukulele sound good.

I have a small soprano right now, but it’s hard to play as I’m an adult and my fingers are not small.. how wide would you say the spaces between the strings are on the tenor flight in comparison to a soprano. Thanks for any information.

I think putting a small bluetooth speaker in the nonplayable Ukes might be add a bit of cool factor to them.
Or maybe clock hardware, especially in the coconut one.

Hey Ricky! What do you think of Ashton ukes and Washburn ukes?
I've never played Ashton ukuleles but I have actually played a Washburn uke. I really like the sound of the concert ukulele I played but I know some of them are pretty pricey. I highly recommend the flight ukulele which has amazing sound and the price is great as well.
My first ukulele was a 25$ one and it was actually good it works fine lol but I’m getting a new one soon

I actually have the Hricane concert ukulele, and I never realized that strings could be softer and easier to play until 1) this video, and 2) my little sister got a cheaper soprano uke and I played it, and the strings were softer and easier to play. I might have to take ur suggestion and change my strings now 😳

I got my uke from Amazon and it was around $45 I think... Not bad at all, I think the brand is Aquila? I'm a beginner so it's good for now, but I'd definitely love a kala in the future

I'm getting a tenor Hricane uke with those same strings (Aquila). This would be my first uke. Would you recommend changing the strings or you reckon they're something I can get used to?
The strings are good I just prefer other ones. I would leave them on and see if you like them and then if you want to switch strings down the road that works

My ukulele is around 10-15$ and to be honest it's far more better and actually more playable than the ukulele's you reviewed ranging from the 8$-25$
Well. Other from the fact that i live in a third world country that has cities well known for their best luthiers, i'm pretty proud of my 12$ (estimate) ukulele. It's a caramel colored wood ukulele made of basswood body and spruce neck that's a soprano size. My uncle has a 50-70$ concert ukulele and my 12$ ukulele definitely competes with it. Pretty cool and has lots of freebies despite the already cheap price. (Yeah it literally includes a padded gig bag, tuner, two picks (thick and thin), a cheap strap and an extra set of ukulele strings from aquila.)
