I commented below but I forgot to say it was the Rainbow that I just bought and it sounds fantastic. I love it. I got it in Soprano, though usually I buy concert, but I love having this little colorful soprano just to make my collection pretty.

Hey, I just wanted to pop up here real quick. When I was first buying a ukulele, I knew absolutely nothing about ukuleles. I bought a Stagg US-RED ukulele and I wanted to recommend it for all the confused people out there. I have seen plenty of cheap ukuleles in my life, but this one is the bet one yet. It's really cheap, you can get it for as little as 35 euro in lots of places. It is well-made, definitely does not look like it would break when playing a little harder. It looks clean, sounds amazing, it has pretty soft strings, so it's perfect for people that have never played a string instrument before. It's tiny and handy. I have it for 2 years now, no defects, looks almost like new. This is my full honest opinion, and it is not biased or influenced in any way. I highly recommend this ukulele and i hope I helped :)
Thanks my daughter has always wanted a ukulele to play at the beach during the sunset, she likes to play soft songs on her electric guitar at the beach and she’s always wanted to try a ukulele so I thought one from Amazon would be better.

So I have been thinking about putting low g strings on my ukulele, do u know if daddario makes low g strings for concert size?
Thank you! I 100% agree about affordable ukes and that they can sound just as good as the more expensive ones. I don’t think they make concert sized ukulele low g strings but I actually just put the tenor low g strings on my concert uke and it sounds amazing. Might have to make a little adjust to but and bridge a lot to widen it a bit for the thicker g string. But totally doable.

I just bought a fifty five dollars and five cents Uke. I'm retiring my anything near full time work, not my choice, and I sit alone day and night. I bought three kalimbas, 21,17, and 8 keys and the uke here. Can you please give me any tips on music to start with that will teach me the most to learn and memorize? I'm going to try low g strings when I understand better what options I want to choose from 😃
Hello! I‘m probably wrong, but didn’t I heard some intonation problem in G string, on the last one?
Looking back the g string did make a little weird sound but that was on my part. The ukulele sounds amazing i didn’t catch the slight mess up from my form when playing the uke. Good catch!
Honestly, the Makala would be my top choice out of those options! It had the fullest and most pleasant “bell” sound to me. I probably would buy it if it didn’t have the shark on it lol. This helped me pick a birthday gift for a friend wanting to learn! Thanks for the helpful review!!
On a side note:
Do you usually look up tabs to learn songs or do you figure out the chords by ear?
Pretty sure they have without the shark or any animals if that’s what you want. I also did see a dolphin as well. As far as chords, I do both. Sometimes there won’t be chords for a song yet (if it’s super new) then I will figure it out. Other times I see what’s out there as far as chords for songs and usually always change them to make the song use the easiest chords possible and also sound as close to the original song as possible. 😁

Hi, I just discovered your channel and it is awesome, thank you for all those tutorials and reviews! I started playing the ukulele a year ago with a 23 euros concert Harley Benton ukulele from the website thomann.de and... well, it's 100% playable and still works after a year! I can't compare it to any other uke since I only own this one but I can recommend it for a beginner like me with a really tiny budget!
I love this. Expensive ukes don’t always mean best ukes. There are some great affordable ukuleles that sound just as good. 😊

You should review the Kala Colo Chord beginner soprano uke on Amazon! It’s cheap and it’s 20 dollars, so I would love to see if it’s worth the price and if it would be worth it to snag one!

We lefties have a few options. Many will restring and flip the uke to strum/pick with left hand. Sometimes the nut will need to be fixed for that. I'm learning right handed, because it irks me to not be able to just pick up and play what I want I a store, or for side fret markers and pick-ups to be on the wrong side for me. And a few of us will just flip the uke without restringing and learn the chord shapes that way. XD
I met a left handed ukulele player a few days ago and when she told me the struggles of lefty uke players it really made me think how spoiled us right handed uke players are. I wonder if there is a video I can make that is just for lefties. I would love to hear your thoughts. 😁
@@rickysomborn - I think that would be great! It's definitely more confusing starting out as a lefty, because the first thing we have to consider is something most players never have to think about... and there is no single answer. We all have different ways of coping with things that weren't designed for us. Some players have to play left handed because their brain is wired pretty hard that way. Then we have to flip chord charts in our heads when learning new chords.
I can do some things with my right hand, but it's not as dexterous, fast, or strong as my left. It means that strumming and picking patterns can take me more time to master, but once I have them down, I'm good to go. I like to do warm ups and exercises to build up muscle memory, and that's helping me develop more fine control and comfort.
Funny thing is that when I do air guitar or air uke, I still naturally play left handed. Lol

The Balnna is a great uke! I think if you want to learn to switch that’s great but not necessary you can still be a left handed uke player.

I think it could be a hilarious video if you tried one of those DIY ukulele kits where you basically build your own uke! I think they're super cheap but mostly think it would be a funny video lol ALSO, what kind of strings are on that kala soprano uke? I haven't seen white strings or atleast mine doesn't have white strings. Is there a difference or is it just a color thing?
So you read my mind!! I just got a DIY kit sent today and I'm going to work on that video this week! Also the strings on the Kala are Aquila Nylgut strings. I'm not sure if color really means a lot. But another brand of strings that I love are D'Addario strings.

I really want the Balnna, but I'm left handed so the strap peg would be at the top of the neck. Does anyone know if those pegs can be taken out and what happens if you do? I have a uke, so I'm not a total beginner, but I just have no experience with strap pegs.
You can definitely remove them with a skrewdriver pretty easily. You will just be left with a hole. Could cover it up with something though.

I got my beginner uke for 29 bucks it works really well and I’ve been playing for 1 year I hoping to get a more professional one but I’m sure you can find a cheap uke that is good. Never give up uke is supper fun to play ! Good luck!
