In 2015 I noticed a lump on my throat, my dr did a biopsy on my thyroid gland but a needle biopsy didn’t work . Went to a surgeon and was told one side had calcified and to be safe it needed to be removed but they would leave the left side . During surgery they biopsied the left side . They called me 3 days later to tell me I needed to come back for surgery again , I had thyroid cancer . Please don’t put off going to the doctor, get it checked out .
I have had a goiter for many years. There are no nodules and my lab work is WNL. My doctor and the surgeon who checked me for nodules just shrug. It’s obvious that something is wrong but as long as there is no drug that can be prescribed or something they can cut out they have absolutely no idea how to treat. Our healthcare system is USELESS when it comes to chronic disease. We are on our own to figure it out for ourselves. I have cut all soy out of my diet and it has shrunk a great deal. I recently started supplementing with iodine. Never once was I asked about my iodine intake. When I asked if it could be an iodine deficiency, my doctor said he has never heard of anyone being iodine deficient 🤦♀️.
I was told by my Dr that they don't test for iodine because of iodized salt
Table salt idione low sodium is the best daily value, it's also good for your mouth , it's okay to have some soy milk once in awhile , but there is coconut milk , I stopped drinking almond milk , if I have milk it's skim milk a little in coffee, but it does make a difference,
I sympathize. I had a goiter for over ten years. But the numbers were within range. I finally had it removed.
That's interesting, because when I was a child many years ago, we were given little white pills ( I believe iodine) at school, because we lived in an area where there was supposed to be an iodine insufficiency.
With non-iodized salts becoming more popular (e.g., pink Himalayan salt), more people are deficient in iodine. Be careful about supplementing, though, as it can sometimes trigger hypothyroidism if you’re not careful. Recommend finding another doctor who can help you with this.
And reject statins! They are contraindicated for thyroid patients.
Weird, how doctors seems to overlook that.
I was recently offered statins for my cholesterol. I have been on thyroxine for 4 years but doctor didn’t make a connection.
Statins? No problem! Start tomorrow. Thyroid underactive - let’s wait 3 months and see what happens!! Needless to say I insisted on Thyroxine and passed on Statins. Good job I knew the symptoms, having had an underactive thyroid years ago.
@@user-hg8bu7zn2s Good on you! Meanwhile, my doc just wrote 4 scrips for statins and glucose (two apiece) - DESPITE my numbers being in the normal ranges. And despite none of them being safe for thyroid patients.
They can write all they want, I'm not filling/taking those meds!
Statins are POISON. They killed my Aunt with Rabdomyelisis aka killed her previously healthy kidney.
Starts at 2:33.
Thanks.
Thanks👍. Far too much waffle!
Very informative, thank you so much!
I have all of these symptoms except the cold intolerance. I think menopause is why I'm hot most of the time. I'd rather be cold than hot.
Same
Thanks for your beautiful way of description of the important gland. The great Thyroid❤
great video, thank you for the important information.
Thank you for sharing....
I had trouble with my contacts. It took several visits with two eye specialists before one noticed ulcers on my corneas and suggested I get my thyroid tested
This was so helpful for me especially about how thyroid can be tested to see that it could be a problem with what's going on with my low energy.
Tysm!❤❤❤❤
I HAD CHRONIC CHEST PAINS CT SCAN SHOWED ATOPHIED THYROID I HAVE ALL THE SYMPTOM STATED HOWEVER MY LAB TESTS SHOW MY THYROID IS OKAY HOW CAN THAT BE.
This is exactly how I'm feeling! Always tired and sleepy 😭🥺 and I have gained so much weight
And no energy whatsoever 😔
Bromine toxicity can cause all these problems. Also cgerry angiomas the little red dots on your skin. Its in deli meats, Gatorade , clothing, mountain dew, peanut butter to name some
yep, took iodine out of bread, replaced it with that.

Ty. I think i need to change my dr.
Could Myalgic Encephalomyolitis Chronic Fatigue Syndrome MECFS be misdiagnosed and it really is a Thyroid disease????!!!
I was diagnosed with MECFS but I think I really need a good look at my thyroid...all the symptoms line up!!!!
Thanks again for the great information ℹ️!!!!ℹ️❗ℹ️❗ℹ️❗❗ℹ️❗❗
Miss Monique 🙂🙏🌷💗
Ask your practitioner to do a series of thyroid stimulating hormone or TSH. If your TSH shows a progressive rise, then your practicioner needs to reevaluate.
A blood test at Christmas shows nothing but another blood test a month later showed subclinical thyroidism. Great 😔
Only when men suffer from thyroid, will there ever be any attention paid to its cure
Chronic stress impairs the HPA axis.
When i was duagnosed at 25 i was only at docs winderimg why i couldn't weight on sp they thought overactive, turned out to be underactive, and i probably just under stress, but no details apart from , i didnt have the disease of the thyroid, my immune system just attacks my thyroxine as tho its a foreign body so i got thyroxin to take, and they said years ago there wouldn't be nothing to help. Stayed at that level for years, now i need more of it, and each time i was at thr doc i learned much more about it and quite serious stuff, wouldn't have known this
Chronic stress impairs the HPA axis.
Can you tell me the difference between hyperthyroidism and thyroid.
Thyroid is the actual gland in your throat . Hyperthyroidism is an over active thyroid that’s producing too much of the hormone and causing symptoms (google symptoms of hyperthyroidism). Then there’s Hypothyroidism is an under active thyroid that’s not producing enough of the hormone and causing other symptoms.
What is the problem with milk?
I use 2% lactose free milk. Mostly in my morning cup of coffee.
I actually don’t like non milk substitutes. Tried many.
What’s a person to do??? You stop all dairy.
Including cheeses. A small amount of Swiss cheese is “ok”. From information I have gathered.
Simple way to find out if you have a thyroid problem, blood test TSH 3 and TSG 4 levels will tell your G.P. what is going on. Have been over active and underactive. Had goiter going backward. I was nuked with iodine 125 even so it is a problem that even with no thyroid you find you are having blood tests fairly regularly.
Unfortunately they aren’t doing testing for all 3 anymore just TSH not T3 or T4
You’ve got to check both active & inactive forms of T3 and T4 so that you can see that conversion of the inactive to the active works as it should. Google it & find out how that entire loop works - it is quite complicated. I had a great dr & two female college who enlightened me and I eventually was fine. Stay on it!
Smash!

❤❤😮😮❤❤😊😊❤❤
As with many other anatomy issues …😂😂😂
Goats milk also??😮
I think so. 😢
No goat dairy is ok for most . The goat butter especially 😊 I have Hashimoto's. I stay very low carb, it helps me.
I’m allergic to animal milks
Oat and nut milks
I use soya but rarely use it as I’m not fond of cereal or the ones I can have
Gluten is completely out for me
Raw broccoli…🤢 the autistic part of me can’t deal with that
Don’t eat kale raw & rarely eat cabbage raw…
I don’t eat processed foods, I have too many allergies to do that, I can’t stand cakes, biscuits and cookies
My mine is still very low, I have levothyroxine, put in weight but rarely go over 1000 calories a day & often it can be 800. I don’t have much appet
appetite, I have to fast when MCAD decides my stomach won’t take anything including safe foods. I feel like crap, I have POTS & Dysautonomia and feel like cr** all the time, I also have EDS so chronic pain, subluxing and dislocating joints…life is so much fun (sarcasm)
I can’t have fish, seafood, eggs & many more
And stop drinking milk!
but why milk are healthiest drink for us 😮
I'm allergic to cow milk
Buy some goat milk or sheep milk me I like whole milk on blueberry shredded wheat cereal
Cows milk is for baby cows. It's filled with hormones for production of milk. Haven't had milk since 1980.
Please elaborate more of why???
Drinking milk is just fine. Don’t get your advice from RUclips
For a lot of people it isn't. Cow dairy gives me almost instant diahorrea. Goat dairy I can tolerate. Their is lots of good advice on you tube, but where your health is concerned you always need to do more research to confirm what is advised. You should do research before posting, your opinion about milk is not correct .
