Something important to remember is that a lot of these videos feature things that existed in these eras but weren’t necessarily used by everyone. For example the at home laser hair removal in the 2000’s. Although it was made available most women don’t use that product they were still shaving. These were more like trends that people of higher classes could indulge in or were just made available not necessarily commonplace.

I shave my underarms frequently and my legs maybe once or twice a month. I totally understand wanting to shave because it feels nice and ya skin is all smooth, I also totally agree with not wanting to shave.. It's time consuming and can irritate the skin. What I don't understand is the people that call women and girls gross and disgusting because they don't shave. Body hair is a natural thing and we shouldn't be ashamed of it. If you wanna shave because you like it, great! If you don't want to shave because you don't care or you don't like it, great! If you only shave because you feel pressured by society to do so, not so great.. Just accept yourself and do whatever makes you happy.

I shave my arms and legs,I know there's nothing wrong with hair on em,I just have very very thick and quick growing body hair (probably genes,I'm an Indian and Pakistani mix),and I don't like the way it looks. Strange thing tho,I only shave in winter so I can run my hand on my calf and feel how smooth it is 😂

I am actually glad that you did this video. Hair removal is something that still comes across as a mildly embarrassing topic. To have a video showing actual hair removal takes away the sense of embarrassment to some extent.

My grandmother (born in the 30's) used to remove her body hair with pumice stone and hot water, my mom (15 at the time) triad the same, she take a bath and started to remove the hair gently while she was still in the tub, she ended the depilation and do all the stuff after you take a bath. Minutes later her skin began to redden and to swell to such point that it secreted liquid. As if it not bad enough, this happened in winter so you should wear socks in the school, you can imagine the rest...

Selene because it is natural. Eyelashes are not there for mascaras and some beauty crap, they are there to prevent eye infections and bacteria. Same for armpit hair and especially pubic hair! That shouldn't be touched at all. Women started to get a breast cancer more often than before because we started shaving armpits..and don't get me started on the lower part lol.. But oh well...blame the society!!! :-)

I understand what you say and I don't think shaving should be imposed on anyone. But we have greatly deviated from what is natural in every aspect of our lives. Clothes, hygiene, technology, lifestyle have all dramatically changed. So I don't think that the shift in our view about body hair is out of place, as long as it doesn't go too far. Hair used to keep us warm but today its purpose is gone. And when it comes to armpit hair, I'd actually prefer if guys had a trim too. I actually wouldn't mind at all if my boyfriend shaved his body. Hairless skin is way more pleasant at touch.

Its also used as a type of security alarm for bacteria by letting off a smell and its used to detect anything that is on your body. I'm all for shaving for personal comfort. Sometimes i shave just to have a new look and that's PERFECTLY FINE! But to shave because you want to fit a beauty standard isn't and that's the same for anything else. I’m not well educated on the ancient history of body hair removal for women. I know they did at least in Egypt, but it was not all women. Let’s face it when it comes to the US, it was all about the almighty dollar. Let’s shame women into feeling like they are dirty or “manly” if they don’t shave. Then convince men it is not good for women to have body hair and you have a recipe for increased sales of razors and hair removal products. Women wore plenty of short sleeved dresses before the 20’s and women didn’t shave. I support any woman’s choice to remove her hair or not remove her body hair. I just wish there wasn’t still such a stigma around those that choose not to like myself. It shouldn’t matter. If you don’t like a woman with body hair then don’t date a woman with body hair. There is no need to socially shame them.

Am I the only person who shaves their legs for themselves and not for society. I've never been pressured to shave yet I shave anyways. I find shaving super satisfying and love the look of my clean shave legs
