    I like how, as time goes on, bans become less about controlling women/"protecting" men, and more about actual health an environmental concerns. Small victories, ladies.

    For the 1920's, they should have mentioned the infamous "Radium Girls" and how they were told to put radium on their teeth, hair, and skin to give off a glow in the dark effect.
    Of course it being radium you probably know what happened.....

      They licked the end of a paint brush to get it to a point then dipped it into paint mixed with radium to pain over watch faces so they glowed. They'd relive the brush over and over and the radium stayed on their teeth which would glow after a while. Years later they developed cancer, jaw rot or both. The men who made the radium paint were in full containment suits but the girls handled it with no protection at all.

Most lipstick is considered safe (not all, mind you, but most. particularly western brands). My apologies for coming off blunt but I tend to have that nature. Ive learned about the CFS in biology that come from aerosol. (They can be find in spray bottles, air conditioners and even the air of the old fridges in that time.) Its the major problem that made the ozon hole. It is illegal now to be used and it has to pass around 100 years for the damage to pass and recreate the O3 molechule in air. I learned this in 7th grade on a Biology lesson. Hope you could find this informative! :D

    • @mollysheehan6829
      @mollysheehan6829 4 года назад

      "out of necessity" when is makeup ever necessary? Why is it that somehow only girls and women think expensive and as this video points out often dangerous products are "necessary" but never boys or men? Do female babies pop out if the womb wanting to put on makeup but somehow not male babies or is maybe something else at play here making you think makeup could ever possibly be "necessary" 🤔

    • @PinkApocalypse
      @PinkApocalypse 4 года назад +4

      Molly Sheehan ...no? I just mean that I, personally, sometimes put foundation on to cover up pimples, or bags under my eyes, to make me feel better, and that’s all. • @mollysheehan6829
      @mollysheehan6829 4 года назад

      @@PinkApocalypse fair point, and I get that and respect that, but maybe think about how many boys or men you know who feel compelled to put concealer on if they have pimples or bags under their eyes just to make themselves feel better, and compare that to how many girls and women you know who do. I used to feel compelled to put on concealer if I had pimples or bags under my eyes and felt better, but then one day I stopped and realized I knew maybe only one guy who did but more girls and women than I could name who did and questioned why that was and questioned why I felt compelled but guys don't.

    I remember the whole silicone debacle in the 90s. I'm naturally well endowed, didn't care for them to be that large, and I couldn't understand why women wanted to be so big.

    • @aghollywood5342
      @aghollywood5342 4 года назад +1

      Look... Some women want them because they don't feel okay about themselves being flat or not feeling feminine... If they wanna change something about themselves it is their right and no one has the right to judge them. It's their body.

    Funny how the actual harmful things like the hair removing cream, ppl were like "lol we cant do anything bout it" But when it came to "women cant wear make up under 44" Or "no red lipstick cause it might poison the dudes" They were like, "yep, thats the law right there"

    4:03 When I wasin TurkeyI went to a Spa and they had those fishes.
    I was there with my mom.
    We put our feet in the tanks.
    Which were on the floor.
    The water was green..
    My mom had over 20 dead fishes.
    When we askedif they feed the fishes they said no and that they eat dead skin. (Which is so wrong..)
    After that me and my mom never returned to that spa.

      Make your beauty products yourself if you want to be sure. I mean people finally understood that processed food with many chemical ingredients is questionable. Same applies to beauty peoducts. Basic and natural = better.
