My headset has a microphone, whenever i plug in the headset, the sound comes through the headset but the microphone isn't working, also whenever i go to sound settings the output device doesn't show my headset it only has 'Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio), same goes for my microphone, i only see 'Microphone (Realtek(R) Audio).
I was going crazy trying to figure out why my mic wouldn’t work properly! I spent hours on it lol! Kind of pisses me off that it was a simple fix! I really appreciate this vid, wish I would of found it many moons ago lol!

THANK YOU! All of a sudden my mic stopped working and an update caused it to hear my voice feedback. I was so confused. This video showed me that the "Listen" under the mic properties was checkmarked. Unchecked it fixed the problem! 🎉 Thank you again!

If you have an xbox controller with an aux port, plug your headset into the controller. Make sure the controller is switched on, and connected to the pc - the headset and mic should connect straight to the pc :) This worked for me. God bless!
I got a blue yeti mic, When I change the input for the microphone nothing the mic doesn't work EDIT: nvm i just didn't finish the video make sure to subscribe to him cuz it helped me and it probably helped u... Plz!

GUYS I've fixed it. Go to sound settings which is in control panel and then go to the record section and reduce the speaker level to 50 %. I fixed mine like this.

When I go to output device it only shows speakers Realtek but in my input it shows microphone Realtek and when I talk it’s not that loud
Just realized I can boost it which basically solved my problem lol
this worked for me still, safe. microphone privacy is what I needed to switch on.
