Andres Laborde you have to buy a seperate mic 🎙 I’ve been rippin my hair out trying to figure out how to get it to work only to realize it is impossible to do with out extreme interference I just ordered mine from wish it’s gonna arrive on may 5th
me too dude
@@gabpsy1683 im kinda stupid (Andres btw) i had the splitter and I had to really push it in there (3.5 mm into splitter), since it wasn't plugged in fully the mic wouldn't work, at a certain push i'd hear only from the left, a little harder, both sides, a little harder and it would go in all the way and the mic would work, i tried looking everywhere thinking it was a software issue but it wasn't

I do have a mute button on my headset, and I'm convinced that it's on mute.. forever...
You just saved my day! I didn't think of the mute button on the headset!
The Realtek Console... that damn thing. You are a life saver, man. Thank you!
Turns out my headset mic was actually functioning well, I'm just mute
This guy just solved my problem .. i looked onto sooo many other videos but this is the best video. thank you soo much. keep up the good work
I forgot to hook up the jack that! That's all it took. JUST A JACK!
my laptop doesnt have realtek audio console, where do i install it?
i have the same problem
download latest driver from realtek site
try looking for the realtek hd audio control console in your c drive/ program files/realtek/audio/hd and click the RAVcpl app it will open the hd audio console. and just make sure it is set correctly
You should download it from website of main board if it is a PC or on website of brand if it is a laptop. The end of my guide video talk about that.
OMG I FEEL LIKE A DUMBASS I MUTED MY MIC
Thank you man. Just bought some new headphones and my friends couldn't hear me but now its alr. tysm
headset mic stopped working after i unplugged it, its really stupid and i'm about to pull my hair out
Dr Dank x2 I have the same problem
Did everything I could, but when it got to the 'Listen' tab & turned on the button to test it out & whatever, it gave me a static interference, no audio was coming into it like my voice, I did a cough & the mic levels didn't even go up, I still have the static interference & one thing to note, I use a headphone splitter which has the right color for my mic & headphones. My headphones have no drivers for Windows & it is a 3.5m on headphones & the splitter.
I have the same exact issue.
i just found out a way after searching for hours. Open windows and search for HD Audio Manager, then on the right part under the word 'Analog' click on the circle button and set it into 'headset'. My earphones mic can finally be used now. See if it works for u guys :)
justin j I use Realtek Audio, original driver was NVIDIA High Def Driver.
Bruh I Was Getting So Frustrated Cause I Had Everything Right And All I Had To Do Was Plug The Mic In More 😤😤
thank you, dude, you fixed a 4-year problem I can't believe it hahaha my front panels did not work correctly my mic-in plug recognized itself as a sound and if I changed it to the mic-in the whole headset stop working so I used the back panel to plug in the 2 plugs and it worked
OMG THE REALTEK WORKED IM SOOO HAPPY I SPENDED 3HOURS ON THIS INSTEAD DOING HOMEWORK THANK YOU SOO MUCHHH
u need to be doing hw as ur spelling spelt as spended
Jokez huh??
Dang im doing this while im supposed to be doing school 😂🤣🤣
Kill me. All I have to do was press the unmute button. -500 IQ move right here...
Thank you so much.
The "Microphone" thing for the Sounds tab in the control panel shows my built in microphone, but it says its unplugged, and the microphone only picks up my friend's voices, my in-game sounds, and pc sounds but not my actual voice, regardless how loud I talk.
this is happening to me too. the only input it takes for audio is the Stereo Mix which takes in sounds coming from thr PC itself
Same problem. Any luck guys?
@@joshma2404 went into realtek audio console and went into advanced settings and changed the settings until a new device was added
@@joshma2404 I found this out about my headset with disappointed me. If you are plugging in a headset with 3 rings (of any color) on the pin, it won't work, you will get only audio. Those type of pins are meant for some laptops and mobile devices.
Check to see if you have the same pin.
@@awesomemindboyd9930 Thank you for the explanation!!! I've gone and bought a proper gaming headset instead in that case. Cheers

THANK YOU YOU HELP ME A LOT I WAS SO CONFUSED BUT THIS REALLY HELPED
what headset you use ?
Was trying to figure out my headseat problem for HOURS!!! This video fixed it in 1 min lol thanks man!!!
I've tried everything and nothing works! I got the audio adapter, have tinkered with all of the settings, and have admittedly been struggling to update my drivers but idk if that's the problem. I hear audio just fine but my mic won't work, it works on my phone but not my pc, and the weirdest thing is I can hear an echo through my mic and whenever I plug the audio output into the input I can see my mic working, problem being now I can't hear anything.
Thanks so much, the bar in microsoft sound settings didn't show any movement when I talked, I simply had to turn my mic louder in its own settings (I think it was called levels) I'm so happy rn THANKS
Got my problem solved...man ur genius
Hi, I’m trying to talk (I can hear everything) in an Xbox party chat within a pc. I have a usb headset with a microphone on it. Nothing seems to work. I use the Xbox companion app.

This has happened with two headsets now and im pretty confident in saying i’ve checked everything on my computer, is there some sort of issue with my pc or the type of headphones i use?

How did realtek mute your mic I'm still having trouble with it
Thanks for the help! I found my solution at 7:20!
Oh man, do I feel stupid. RealTek Console had my headset muted, thus making everything else like Discord not recognize my mic, however I could hear anyone speaking, even music. I tried everything and was ready to return it, lol. Thank you for posting this video, seriously, no other articles I read mentioned the Manager.
