My solution was a tiny bit different than the one in this video but it worked. For me, the "allow apps to access mic" button was ON, but still no mic. Then just for a test, under "choose which apps can access your mic", I turned ON every option listed. Now the mic on my headset is working. Might be worth a try. Good luck.

I know this is over a year old and that this update has been patched over by now BUT it still works. Spent 2 hours uninstalling my drivers and re-installing and trying different USB ports. This fixed my issue in 30 seconds.

@cuhz i bought one and it works perfectly, just choose headphones speakers pin as headphones(which will be still showed as speakers in audio devices) and mic's pin as mic in realtek sound pannel

Jesus christ thanks I even ordered a new mic after trying for days to get it to work, the mic blocking setting apparently also blocks for the control panel (stupidly), so when testing it appears that my mic just doesn't give any sound, thanks windows (not). I tried the solutions you mentioned before I reviewed yours and mic input is nonexistent. Mic switch is turned on and still no input from the mic (and yes, I am speaking into it while testing). As you experienced, these issues started right after the last windows update. Let's hope Microsoft comes up with a fix...soon.

Can someone help me. I have the Turtle Beach Stealth 400 headset. Headset itself works just fine but not the mic. Everything was already on in the microphone settings. My mic volume is all the way up on my headset and in the sound settings on my pc. My pc does detect that I have a mic on my headset but no sound is coming out. It says everything is working properly so idk why its not working. And my mic is not muted..
it looks like the Stealth 400 is designed to work with PS3 and PS4 only... however I did a quick Google search and if I'm reading this correctly you can update the firmware which may get it to work on the PC. I say may because on the page Turtle Beach says, "The Stealth 400 was designed for PS3 and PS4 consoles only. We are unable to guarantee universal PC compatibility with the Stealth 400." here's a link to Turtle Beach's support page with the article I found. support.turtlebeach.com/hc/en-us/articles/219760427-Stealth-400-PC-Compatibility there's a link on this page that takes to you where you can download the firmware update and how to install it and everything. I hope this helps. :)

Nope. Didn't work. My apps know I'm using a microphone, and the testing/audio check ("listen to this device") sounds FINE and perfectly good volume, but none of the apps are picking up my voice. I have to YELL into it to get any sound to register. I am so upset.

That's a bummer, sorry to hear it man. By now you may have already got it fixed and working but if not here's a couple suggestions I hope will help. If it were me the next things I'd start looking at are the Windows Sounds settings, the Discord settings, and if you have software for your headset from the manufacturer (my Corsair headset uses Corsairs iCUE for the lighting and mic volume and stuff) I'd check those settings too. Between all of those hopefully you'll be able to find a fix.

Not working on my system as my headset does not come with software. My TeamSpeak app is allowed to use my mic, but no transmission of my voice is going through my headset mic and into TeamSpeak, and as a result, no one can hear me.

Wish it worked for me... My problem is that everything is fine and enabled, but suddenly my mic just does a screech sound(for who is listening to me) and then stops working, tried everything already but it just dont come back unless i unplug the USB and plug it back in again, then it starts working, but sometimes it works for hours even days without this issue and sometimes it doesn't last a single minute before it stops again, im really going crazy about this.

Did you really just show a screen recording of your levels tab... and the mute button is active...? You might have wanted to address that first.

My problem is that everything is fine and enabled, but suddenly my mic just does a screech sound(for who is listening to me) and then stops working, tried everything already but it just dont come back unless i unplug the USB and plug it back in again, then it starts working, but sometimes it works for hours even days without this issue and sometimes it doesn't last a single minute before it stops again, im really going crazy about this.
My problem is that my headset doesnt show up in the list of devices
