Excellent video! Very comprehensive. Sadly my usb mic still isn't working, despite the computer recognising it, knowing it's got sound being input, but when I try to record the sound it refuses. However it's fine recording from my on board mic!
Thank you. Took me 5 minutes to fix the problem following your video. Most other web sites wanted to download soiftware/charge me for IT services. You were quick, clear and free. Can't ask for more than that. Like many things once you know how to do it it becomes relatively easy!
I'm having the same issue with my mic as well. One day it just stopped recording my voice and instead recording voice of youtube videos for some strange reason. I think it's the windows update doing that and forcing that 'Get help' Tab instead of the usual troubleshooters. And I have no idea how to change that back.

I felt like an idiot, I spent days to check what the hell is wrong with my microphone and it turns out the volume was zero :D Thank you tho, this was helpful
1:05 into the video. No it doesn't. When I click troubleshoot, window help comes on. It goes through the motion of testing and it asks if I heard a beep. Of course I do. So it says that everything is good. What is a circus.
What garbage everything that should be on IS on yet...the voice recorder on WIn 10 keeps saying mic not working, well the fucking mic works to record my podcast.

when i go to the microphone part and click trouble shoot it just takes me to this lady and trouble shoots my AUDIO not mic
