    Where can I find that exact front windshield visor?
    That one looks really nice.

    I wish you would have mentioned to adjust the head lights when these kits are installed. People (who raise the front) don't care because they are not on the receiving end of the headlights, (now in the windshield or mirror of the poor bastards around them at night). Just saying!

    How does it keep the factory ride? It seems like putting torque on the torsion bars is the same thing no matter how it gets there

    I drove a few Tahoes that rode rough, but one with Z71 rides nice. A 2500 HD with Z78 package rides rough, but others ride smooth. Adjusting the 2500 with the Z78 to leveling as in the video did not improve the ride, but it is not in contact with the limiting rubber block as when stock. Some people say it's the shocks that make the Chevys ride rough, but I did not change mine.

    And in 40k miles, the whole front end will need replacing, at around 2k

    thank you so much Larry, I'm just assuming and we all know what happens haha but i just thought with the original 1/2 bar it would ride better.i found a set at a salvage yard for 125.00 so not too bad,but if i can save money and not buy it,better,yes i am definitely going to call you,it might be on the 3rd though when i get paid ok,I'm restoring my old truck and already tapped out for this month ok.but leveling it will be the next project so i will give you a call at the end of this month talk to you then.take care

    Why are you measuring from the fender flares. Some trucks have a higher front wheel cut out.

  • @YankeeSoutherner1945

    Sounds like it needs new torsion bars and leaf springs too.

    What about lowering the differential? Shouldn't that be lowered about an inch to keep the CVC joints at the correct level?

    • @Icutmetal
      @Icutmetal 5 лет назад

      James Flinn Don’t think that really starts to become an issue until 2.5”-3”+; and at that point, you’d probably need upper control arms as well.

      Your cv axles arent at a critical angle at 1.5/ 2 inch lift. It becomes more critical as it gets into the 3 inch plus.

    I have a 2001 Sliverado 1500HD 2WD. My father bought it of the showroom floor and put 265/75r16 on the factory rims. I just bought the truck and put the factoey 245/75R16 back on it the truck to see my gas consumption might improve since im not driving across prairies and back roads. this is great news to me,i have a 1995 K1500 Z71 with a Fabteck 6 inch suspension lift and a 3 inch body lift,ok no big deal yet,but long time ago,my friend said hey you can get a lift with 1 ton torsion bars cranked up,ugh it rode terrible,then i went down to a 3/4 ton so thats what is on it now,its got the rake in front,do i need to first obtain OEM half ton bars original for truck and then buy your products? I'm on a tight budget,but disabled with blown dic's i really can't even drive the truck its so rough,i need help sir.whats the best route for me.i do plan on calling y'all .

    I've owned them all and they ride so rough is this system any better?

    • @suspensionmaxxman
      @suspensionmaxxman  8 лет назад +4

      +WWT Its all about what ride height / amount of lift you are looking for. Yes in general the maximum lift gives the firmest ride. But if the kit is over elevated by not checking upper control arm gap, the suspension will have No Downward Travel. This will result in a very harsh ride. Lets say you want 3" you can have your 3" at a firmer ride than set at a 2" or 2.5" of lift. When properly installed and adjusted the ride may feel 10-25% firmer, but depending on personal preference. Some customers do not like a truck from the factory that has soft sloppy ride and handling characteristics of the 99-07 1500 GM, others expect a Cadillac ride form a lifted 3/4.. So ride is completely subjective.

      My '97 K1500 Silverado most definitely rides better than factory with the maxx cam system. I also swapped out the stamped lower a arms with the forged ones which also allowed me to use the bolt on shock extender bracket shown in this video. On the upper arms I mounted the ball joint underneath instead of on top to lessen the angle and maintain that quarter inch air gap. If only they offered a front diff kit to reduce cv angles a bit. Larry is very helpful and a joy to deal with. Thank you Suspension Maxx!
