      I had someone tighten up one side of my torsion bar, all the way, to try to adjust perceived sag on my S10.
      It developed a bad knock on that side. I could feel it in the floor board. The suspension was not even working. It was solid. Ended up damaging the ball joints.
      I backed it off, problem solved.

    Father in law has a 2013 2500 HD reg cab long bed 4x4 6.0 gasser. He bought new keys and it is the absolute worst ride I've ever been in. Constantly spilling my pop down the front of me, and with a ton of wood pellets in the bed and 2 more tons on a car hauler this thing actually did 3 wheel motion up my driveway. The front driver's tire was 10-12" in the air because of the bump stops limiting the downward movement. Funny thing though, it rides like a Cadillac in the winter time with about 1,000# in the bed and his 8 foot plow on the front. Truck looks great but he couldn't give me that lumber wagon!!!

  • @EmeraldEnchantments
    @EmeraldEnchantments 4 года назад +5

    The droop stops aren't for the shocks they are to protect the c joints from extreme angles. Cut them off and lift the truck at your own risk. You need to drop the differential. 10s of millions of dollars went into the engineering for ifs gm truck suspensions these small companies modifying things mean well but they don't have the training to understand the complexity of what's going on. I was a gm tech for years and took several classes about modifying stock vehicles and the consequences of doing so. That being said, I still modify my stuff I just know that I am causing damage. Cost of playing the game.

      @@danieleusebio7384 hi I never contacted them. I did however crank up my stock torsion bars with the stock adjusters. There is tons of inches to be had there. I just brought it up to level, and put on new shocks. What I learned is that when you look at things with the front end jacked up the angles look really bad. You must adjust both sides equal put truck back down, check it, then back and forth to get it just right height. When it’s level and put back on the ground the angles are just fine. Really nice angles. Now I’m talking about just leveling, not lifting. If you keep turning the stock adjusters ohhhh it will go up but then your front suspension is hard as a rock. So what I learned is just adjust the stock system, replace shocks, check pitman arm, check idler arm, check tie rods, check ball joints, checksway bar and bushings, replace any of these as necessary. Final step for me was an alignment. Now truck rides well and is tight. It’s to bad my bed is completely rusting away now. ugh

    I just purchased sway-away heavy duty torsion bars for my 2008 2500HD and they are supposed to be 25% more increase in load. They are splined for infinite adjustment and having a Ranchhand front bumper, I blew out my cv's. I lifted my truck this same way as here in this video and the ride was much better,,, but the bump stops are still resting on top of upper control arm and there is not enough travel. Even if I lifted the truck and dropped the differential, it will help, but will not compensate for the heavy bumper, so the spring rate needs to be addressed. I will see how the truck rides with new T-bars and then, I will add a 4 in lift by Tough Country if there is still bump stop angle issues.... Man, why couldn't GM put coil overs on their HD's??
