I swear this is the most realistic install ive ever seen in my freakin life. people make this crap out to be so simple and taking 5 minutes, but we all know the most simple stuff tends to be the biggest headache
Just don't use ya torque wrench to take it all apart too :D
13:54 i love how he’s using fire and you can see the gas tank in view and the flammable warning sign
Lmao I was staring at that for a while
@Joel Roberto yeah, no one gives a shit.
There is no problem with the gas tank unless you have a leak and then only the fumes are combustible.
Your supposed to jack the front end up before you crank the keys. By doing it on the ground you just twist the torsion bars. So it wont show as much lift until you go drive it around and let the torsion bars settle
16:02 I laughed so hard every time you put in the clip of it catching fire 😂
Armando Gonzalez Same
Armando Gonzalez Same
Lol me too
Omg me too!
I thought I was tripping haha
I gotta tell ya, the purple over sprayed frame just adds another level of custom that you don’t see too often.
Hehehehehehehehe!
30 minute vid on a 2 minute subject. Never learned why I shouldn’t crank the keys
He did it wrong and got poor results.
Richard Martin Ah, thanks
I changed both of mine in about ten minutes .
Who is he? And why?
Cause cowboy boots and basketball shorts.......that's why.
It looks soo good already good job!! Getting me hyped to to mine
I ran a set of 31×10.5 couragia on my Silverado many trucks ago. They were awesome!! Very affordable, great tread, worked flawlessly off-road, tread wear was on par with everyone else. They are not near as loud as the Nitto mud graps i had on a truck. Just stay on top of tire rotations😅, i was young and didn't know you were supposed to rotate MTs. Truck started shaking like crazy then someone told me to get a rotation, i did....rode like new.
“Gets creative idea”....”starts truck on fire” 😂😂
I love the old back er too the channel 😂one of the reason I watch your channel! Keep up the great work
Probably my favorite part was that angle that shows all the warnings on the bottom of the gas tank as he blow torches them 🤣🤣
Good work love the old truck content ... I must have gotten lucky with my 95 Dakota ... sprayed them with pb blaster the night before and tapped them out with a hammer ... did both in about an hour ... dual battery cables adds amperage not voltage
"this little part right here has no purpose" the gas tank staring at the camera like.....O.O...
I ran the same tires on my 2002 Silverado single cab long wheel base with some 20x12 dwg dw13 and I loved em
Thanks for the vid ..helpful and entertaining. Enjoy how you can roll with the punches and stay positive!..👍
Lmao! The look on your face when it started on fire! ...Priceless!
I'm so glad when I did my leveling kit on my 04 Ram the keys came right out. Took less than 30 minutes. I ended up putting longer front shocks on it for ride quality. Don't forget to get an alignment too
So did you no crank the keys? What did you do for the leveling kit?
@@day2daylogic802 I put larger keys in it there was minimal cranking on them. I think it was rough country leveling kit
Can you crank 2 inch keys
Ryan just for future reference when you heat something up to expand it don’t instantly spray it with PB blaster, your cooling the piece you just heated up and shrank it back to where it was!
And change the steels properties as the bars are made from spring / tool steel.
Awesome video bro. Just found your channel and loving it. Keep it up 👍🏻
The laugh when you got it off😂😂😂. So much joy lol
Such great content man 🔥🔥 keep grinding bro 🦾🦾
Love the vids but you are killin me by using your torque wrench as a breaker bar/ratchet.
ryan0714 yes!!!!! The calibration is for sure off LoL.
I'd hate to see u guys watch someone tighten a left handed threated fastener
Mr. Ryan I loved your build on the Ram. Great working 👍 to create a super truck. Being a lift installation man I figured you knew hands on labor work? Your Mopar vehicles are nice. This Chevy has kicked lots of will power out of you! Hang on Ryan...
Nothing like the daily power stroke roulette lol
Trucks looking good brother thanks for the great content
I highly recommend picking up a M12 compact ½" drive Milwaukee impact. I have the high torque M18 and scoffed at the little M12s. Until I bought one. Now I use it 90% of the time. It fits in so many places the M18 can't...
You’ll be fine bro I have a 2.5 on my Sierra with 33x12.50 and I just needed to NorCal the back and a bit of plastic on the front. Truck looking super good brother!
I have 2 sets of those tires love them. Have them on a 88 jeep wrangler and my 79 ford f150
Ryan the part where you kept replaying the bar on fire and blowing it out had me rolling man! Keep it up ole son! 🤣🤣🤣 shout out from Oklahoma 💪🏻
I run the Federal Xplora XTs and I love them! So I’d bet those are great also!!
Thanks for the great content. Your videos and content are Inspirational bro bro.
I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a 3” lift and I run 33x12.50r17 nitto mud grapplers with no trimming needed!!
I run those tires on my ram. Smooth ride and after year tread still looks somewhat brand new!
Hilarious video bro! Had me laughing for a long minute 🤣🤣.
This guy has a ford , dodge and a Chevy. I love it
Gah, brings back flashbacks when I lifted my 98 F150...it's the same kind of torsion bar setup. So much rust, so many issues. I'm a solid-axle guy for life now lol.
Blowing on fire edit had me rolling 😂 thank you
Get a 6.4 power stroke starter for the 6.0. Direct bolt on and spins at least twice as fast. I put one on my 03 and love it.
When you repaint the undercarriage where the suspension is and stuff don’t touch it up in Black you should do it in the same green color that your Dodge is because you’ll be really cool to see undercarriage green opposite of your Dodge
You need to get square tires to fit the wheel wells on the Chevy
Not this year's model bud
Not sure why you'd be watching this video
Courteous Analyzer The wheel wells look pretty square to me bud. Also I’m watching because this is America and I want to see because I cranked the torsion bars on my ford
🤣
🤣🤣. Lighten up "bud"
Depending on your jump cable size will allow more amps to pass through
I always had to plug in my 6.0 when it got down to 40 degrees and it would fire up no problem
What are your thoughts on the AEV lift for the Ram? Do you have any experience installing one at your previous job?
I like how it’s coming out, are you going to paint the bumpers?
Great Video! Keep up the great work!
that thing has really turned around from last year look good yo!
You are awesome man another great video 💯💯💯
When he said "doing any work like that in your lower control arms and stuff just isn't fun" I felt that lmao
Take a drop cord and keep it plugged in helps with ours over night to start in morning on colder mornings.
The next torsion bar lift if you pre soak the lower arms and torson keys a day prior that will help loosen up and let it slide easier. the usless bracket in front of the fuel tank is for the evap canaster that looks like its missing. might be why check engine lite is on.
Two cables is pushing twice the amps same voltage. Great vids
Good video bro..love the cowboy boots and shorts.lol. ctackn up bro...
great vid will you ever do ram paint matched mirrors
Was watching bed body work a this vid popped up *NOTIFICATION GANG*
You were hammering on the tool... it’s threaded lol I enjoyed the content regardless keep it up! Can’t wait to see this done!
Thats a hard worker right there, I once has simlar issue just taking old rotors off lol
I'm running the Couragias right now, they are awesome, especially for their price
I feel your pain I spent about 3 hours on my 3500 and finally gave up torched it and torched it some more never tried using the torsion tool to push bar out maybe I'll try it again soon.
Always makes the day better when I see one of your vids in the subs!
When you gonna take care of the trucks underside
I have a 2006 chevy silverado 1500 extended cab and we cranked the torsion keys just so the front is pretty much leveled out and i dont have a problem
Some good rims cuhh 🤘🏽💨
That bracket on the driver’s side you rearranged a bit is a bracket for a fuel heater for diesels. With a long pry bar on the end of the torsion bar zip tied to the the left of that bracket so it won’t move, you can smack the the end of the pry with a hammer and it should come out fairly easy. We deal with terrible rot and rust here in Buffalo so I feel you on that 😂
What is that crossmember for if u don't mind me asking does it really affect anything
Headlight looks nice. Where did you get that? Lmk
I got my torsion keys out in 10 seconds without any flames or special tools - and that's on a '93 K5 with 265k miles! Can't believe you used heat, its not necessary at all. Mine were just as stuck as yours, too.
Anytime you crank your torsion keys you drive it around a few minutes then measure it. I did to my z71 02 avalanche few years ago and I benefitted 3 inch lift on the front
Did you have any problems afterwards?
@@danielgordon4215 nope
22:15 and I just giggled it😂😂😂😂
I took the Red Neck Lift Out (cranked out tight stock keys) 15 turns loosen it removed 3.5" to 4" from front end
I just bought a 2020 silverado custom any advice on tires and wheels and possibly lift I see your in Columbus I live in Springfield world love y’all advice on this
Had a similar problem I wanted to give up on a steering link but I cut out the nut and and hammered it. Wanted to give up too lol
air hammer with a punch bit works really good, with a little heat and PB blaster.....
ran those same federals on my old truck. 3 out of the 4 tires split after 8k miles
What headlight bulbs do you use, i have the same headlights but since they are projectors they only let me fit a fog light led bulb in there so its pretty dim at night
Hey how you like that Milwaukee impact driver? You seem to use the heck outa that thing. I'm gonna invest it one but wanted to hear your input. Thanks👍
My bucket truck is a 6.0L. Put 120,000 miles on her. We’ve definitely shared our fair amount of break downs and won’t starts. Most of the time the engine light doesn’t come on, but I plug the tuner in and it’s usually got a code or two. May be worth seeing if their are some “invisible codes”
I used to have to pop the hood and hit the fuel pressure regulator (kinda looks like a bulky O2 sensor back behind the turbo) just about every time to get it to start. I believe the tuner always said fuel pressure regulator open loop. Just some food for thought!
I ended up taking my torsion bars off with the cross member and a arms. With some judicious use of heat and hammers was able get the out of the a arms. Had to use my 20 ton hydraulic press to get them out of the keys.
Flute clip on repeat was amazing
Loved the video. I've watched a few of these now since I'm considering doing that on my truck. After watching your video, it almost makes me want to bring it to a shop to have it done, lol. Isn't that how it goes sometimes? What should be a simple job, slid the key off the torsion bar, turns out to be more work than a motor swap.
were you able to have it done in a shop at all ?
@@SHORTYCITY84 I still haven't done it. I think I'd rather do a lift, if I end up doing something, to keep all the angles good.
I'd like to see the angle of the CV axles after the Belltech kit was installed
You dont give up, job well done. Good video!
2:17 the third brake light is out also
I would definitely get new front shocks for a leveling kit
I put 305/65r18s on 18x10s with a -13 offset with 2” leveling coil overs on a 14 silverado. Did a fair amount of metal trimming but I think I’d still like a hair more stance, turned out relatively modest. I know these are really different trucks but I’d like to encourage you bite the bullet and trim that pretty purple hard work there for a wider stance. I think you’ll like it better once you finish. The trucks lookin sweeet
Definitely lifting my 6.0 cateye 2500 hd 6 inches never realized how much taller stock hight mine is compared to a 1500hd cateye
Man I felt that sequence of events at 14:44 on a personal level haha
Harbor Freight Pneumatic Air Hammer was super useful on my 03 Tahoe
Hahaha holy kramoley, Man I subbed ONLY because of the little edit - "i only heated the key and not the bar" *everything on fire clip*- had me just dying. However thats not to say this whole video wasn't good because It was 100% worth watching.
You must check your upper controlarm may be touch the chassis, that will be a problem. i have hd 2011 the upper controlarm touch the chassis and so i change my cntrols to aftermarket because they have different angle.
When you cranked the stock keys up you should have taken the truck around the block and let the suspension raise up because it's going to sit higher after a drive.
I had same issue, put jack under front tire and released pressure on key and bar and it came right out.
I learned that since PB blaster is super flammable when i use it after 15 minutes and I’m using heat I set it on fire and it makes everything go by so quickly when i do it like that
Wow the Silverado looks so great
There's a video out there where the torsion key was cut and released so easily. You do have to cut into one of the supports, but it does not compromise a thing.
2 sets of jumper cables falls into better condiction and easier transfer of current its doubling the gauge our wire to pass current helping flow
Hey man I did the same thing to my truck take it for a drive bc I did the same thing as you did and it rides really bad bc there is no movement in the front end you mor less have to fine tune it the lift it’s a heads up I learned the hard way it’s so bouncy in the front
Could be the glow plug module. I had a parasitic draw on my ‘04 power stroke. Started after my top alternator went out (had a dual Alternator setup). still didn’t fix it replaced both alts and batteries like 3 times, ended up being the glow plug module had failed and fried the harness.
Upper Control arms are a must also.
The front lower control arms in my experience are usually the bigger cause. Should have hit them with penetrating oil and heat
My 2nd gen doesn’t need two battery’s to start try swapping the on to the side u had it hooked up I believe where it needs more power. Just try it if not I think it may something diffeent
Also get the interstate batteries the trucks like the extra power they put out
