HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 18 фев 2020
- In this video I will go over how to make a simple adjustment to your stock , leveled, or lifted truck. It does not matter what type of torsion keys you have. As long as you have a silverado or sierra 2500 / 3500 truck.
Tools you will need:
- Floor jack to lift up your front end
- 21mm socket with wrench
- Measuring tape
My setup (provided by suspension superstore):
-Full Throttle Suspension UCAs
-Traxda Keys
-Fox 2.0 Shocks
Wheels:
Arkon Offroad 22x12 Crown Series Triumphs -51 offset
www.arkonoffroad.com/?ambassa...
Tires:
35x12.5r22 Atturo Trail Blade M/Ts
HIGHTLIGHTS:
at 2minutes and at 10minutes - I talk about what I did to clear my setup (trimming & modifications)
This video goes into detail on what you should look for when you are adjusting ( tire clearance, CV axle angles, ball joints, etc ) to make sure when you do make adjustments that you are doing it correctly. Авто/Мото
Mad props dude ! I just adjusted my 2020 GMC was one inch higher in front followed your instructions worked great! Thx
Thank for explain I think everyone who wants to level or lift their trucks should watch this beforehand
Really appreciate this. Turned it into a 5min job instead of a half hour.
Thank you. You did an excellent job explaining and showing how to do this.
By far the best video that helped me with my 2017 2500hd! Thanks brother.
Great to hear!
Thanks bro! Super simple explanation. I just lowered my Yukon XL with a Bell tech 2/3 kit w/shocks. The front still sat a little bit higher than expected once I lowered the truck off of the lift. Six turns got 'er done! Now I'm off to the alignment shop tomorrow to make sure she's rolling true and straight. Merry Christmas, homie. Kudos...
Lol my 2013 Duramax has the typewriter tick too. I love how GM’s response was basically “our engine is so perfect that it ticks sometimes.”
Very good explanation, thanks!
Thank you for mentioning that the measurement would be the same even after adjusting. I was scratching my head wondering why I loosened each side 4 times yet they were the same height afterwards!
Awesome video… and nice rig!
great video thanks for taking the time to document
Great video, just leveled out my truck, thanks for the help!
youre welcome!
How does it drive after leveling it? & how many turns did you do?
super helpful 👍👍
I never knew this could be done . I always thought you had to get a leveling kit.
Bro ur Duramax looks so cool man
thank you!
Sick truck
Beautiful truck
Thankyou!
Can you tell a ride difference by going loser on the keys? (Less speed bump jab) ? I have a 3 inch lift on my 20 2500- it’s one inch lower in the rear - debating on putting a 2.5inch block in the rear instead of 1.5 to make up the difference or just loosen the key to lower the front? Thanks! Love the truck
will this work on a stock set up? will it ruined ride comfort? this will not ruin the cv joint or anything suspension related up front?
nice truck by the way
I was wondering if you painted trim pieces white to match or did you order them. I have stock black fender flares but I wanted white like yours.
Ok question boss. I bought a 2008 reg cab 4x4 and it has a huge lift but idk how much. It's a ruff country X. I looked on there site but anyway it's to high for me and has 35in tires that rub a bit when you turn all the way. I think they rub though bc they have spacers on wheels and makes wheels stick out fender I'd say 2 inches. So the truck is to high and it does that dropping gears bc of the tires. I would like to do this and cut or put new blocks in the back and be able to run a 33inch tire and not have a huge gap. The front axles sit perfect level now so would dropping it like this cause a problem?
Top of tire to fender is easier, and is the same as to ground minus the tire on both sides.
hello I have a 2016 crew cab silverado LTZ I have a rear suspension problem appreciably its also affects the front I have my bed box which leans enormously on the left side at least 2 inch with a large gap on the suspension blades that do I have to ??
Do you have to put it on a jack to do it, or can you just do it on the ground too?
I’m running 22x12s 33x12.50s and the guy had mine the whole way up. Rides so bad due to hitting that bump stop. Hopefully I can lower it some and do some trimming.
i’m about to do a leveling kit on my 2015 gmc 2500hd duramax. new keys. any advice on removal? it’s a new england truck i’m worried it may be a battle despite no rust. ALSO. anyone got a reference point from all the way out for how many turns on the keys for height alittle above stock??
Hi .. if I do this .. do I need to adjust Them again after a while ? Or stay in the same position always ? I’m a girl and I want to do this on my h3 ...
Once you adjust you won’t need to later on
So have to change the torsion bar/cross member bushings on both sides. I bought new block and bolts for keys.
When I install back, where do I start the bolt turn count? How many should I turn? 3 once I make contact with key? I am not running anything aftermarket. Normal 245 17 wheels.
3 or 4 from barely touching key?
From distance of bump stop? Not resting on bump stop?
I have unloading tool. And school bus jack stands.
Lowering it will cause it to be spongey. So replace your shocks with some fox shocks. Just FYI I lowered my rc lift
Love the truck bro .
What should the stock height be from
From bottom fender to ground .?
Ill have to look into this again I forget!
Great video, thank for the share! Very helpful. Do you rub when turning on or off uneven surfaces? Into/out of driveways etc.?
no sir no rub!
How wide is your tires? What is the offset of those rims. The truck looks awesome. I just bought some 20 x 10 with -24 offset with 35s. Not sure if I have to do some trimming.
I have switched to nitto recons and theyre awesome
My truck is sitting on my bump stops what do I need to do? Note I have a lift kit on it and I want to replace bump stops
Would you know about how far each turn raises the front end? I have a stock truck with stock keys. I tow often so I do need to keep some sort of a rake. I’m thinking 3 turns for my truck… any suggestion or advise is appreciated.
Just add a 2 inch block in rear it'll keep the ride better vs cranking your torsion bars
i want info on the full color match!!!!!
will this technique work to level the front rake on my 2019 chevy trailboss? it has a 1 1/2 difference from front to back.
2” drop shackles in rear would level it
Do 2020 Silverado 1500 have them
YOU SAVED ME! I just bought a new GMC and noticed it leaning to the left. Wheel well fender measured one full inch lower on both front and and back left side! Found the left side torsion bar adjuster bolt about 5 turns too far out. (The left bolt was sticking out visibly uneven with the right.) Jacked up the front, ran it in 5 turns. Presto, even! Thank you so much. But what's up with GMC!?!? Selling it like that ?
Good stuff!! I’m trying to fit my 24x14 -90 wheels on with 33x14.5 fury’s
Definitely possible with leveling keys!
You’ll rub like hell with only a leveling kit.
I got 24x14s concave American forces on a superlift leveling kit minor trimming get a kelderman cap and trim that and your good
Wheel n tires setup?
NICE vid man. Can I do this on a GMC AT4 as well?
yes!
@@duramax2020 thanks!
Did you have somebody paint your fender flares or they sell body color flares
auto body shop!
I need to lower my front as it sits high (2.5inch)from previous owner . I have a 21 GMC Sierra 2500 at4. Do u know how inches one full turn is ?
He mentioned in the video that 4 turns lowered it 3 quarters of an inch.
So raising the truck up by tightening the torsion keys will make it ride worse?
This is correct
Can you level the back of the truck the same way ?
no see my drop shackle video
Will this affect the rear height too?
No it will not affect it at all. Only the front
Is your truck pearl white or summit white?
My truck is iridescent Pearl tricoat! It’s a tricky color. Looks almost white in little to no light, and changes a little in direct sunlight.
What's max turns down and up?
as much as the bolt allows
Will this work on a 2021 2500hd custom silverado
itll work on pretty much every silverado 2001+ thats 2500 or 3500
@@duramax2020 thank you apriciate the fast response.
What size wheel and tires do you have on here?
35x12.5r22 -51 offseton Im on 325/50r22 now (34.8x13.2r22)
Hey bro can you adjust your keys using the ramps only, no jack?
you need to take the weight of the front end, you need a jack
Don't touch your vehicle. Peoples lives are at risk.
@@privilegedwhitemale306 lmao
What lift you running?
stock height my friend but I have Full throttle UCAs and fox shocks
You gotta take it for a hell ride after adjusting. Then measure
sorry 2017 z71 silverado 1500
what's the difference on a 2017?
2017's are smaller
Half tons do not have the same suspension setup!
Does the 2020 1500 have torsion bars?
Half tons do not have the same suspension setup
Why r u lowering it
Now back up full locked. It will rub
sounds like u just changed ur oil before this vid. type writer
I am more worried about the wood block you used and the fact that you have no blocks behind the rear tires!!! Give a shit about those oil leaks!
Why are your lights flickering
Frame rate with the camera
Frame rate not matching up with the LEDs
clearing on flat ground at stand still is misleading isn't it......what about driving and hitting bumps with wheel turned, when suspension compresses the tires may still rub so wouldn't you want to make sure you have clearance for when suspension is compressed as well?
All good here man. And if you over adjust and start rubbing it only takes about 15 min to hit the torsion keys again. Not a big deal. Not sure if youre playing troll. But I have been running this height with little to no rubbing for over a year now and all good : )
Nice oil leak 😁.
It’s my heavy duty diesel shop… which stated in the video. There is oil all over the floor in there
Haha nice oil leak bro
Ive got a shop with 10+ dump trucks and 20+ heavy machines that get serviced and worked on here. Oil is everywhere
@@duramax2020 I just did it because you told me not too 😂 nice truck I have a 2016 duramax maybe one day I can upgrade.
@@adenseay7406 haha all good
@@duramax2020 ...😂
Get an adjustable square already lol
If you’re turning and hit a bump you’re going to hit. You need more clearance than that.
Been driving like this for several months now. I get the occasional rub once in awhile but not enough to harm or change anything. Thanks for the input though
