I noticed my eyeliner started melting in this video. So embarrassing! Why me?! But I'm not about to go re-film. So there you have it. Let us know what other Q&A's we should do! Thanks so much everyone for watching! xo
I didn't even notice lol You both look great. No worries. :)
I can promise u I didnt even notice until I scrolled through the comments at the end! Great video! Its so interesting to get not only princess and fur perspective. I hope to be more aware of my next trip the physical strain some of these fur costumes are!
I didn't notice it either. Awesome video as usual. Love when you and Rachel can do one together, so entertaining. Love your story about the dinos would of loved to see the dancing dino.
Jennifer Oakes 😊No problem, you always look gorgeous!💙
I feel you! I have another YT channel and I filmed like 10 short videos and didn't realize the pen I had been writing with leaked all over my fingers. I must have scratched under my eye at some point because when I finished I realized I had a line of ink under my eye. I thought, "Great! Everyone's going to think I'm prematurely aging with this huge line under my eye!" lol Luckily the lighting was pretty strong so it didn't show up much, but I was like, "Forget it! I'm not refilming!"
As an awkward teenager i was really scared I was gonna be embarrassing when meeting characters, but i’m glad to know that they’ve probably experienced way worse than someone who is just shy lol
Rachel mentioned being friends with Mr. Smee in this video, and you also mentioned that the emotion of "anger" doesn't exist for the characters. How are the rules different when you're playing a villian? For example, it would be out of character for Jafar to be as friendly as Pluto or Aladdin. How do the guest interactions change when you're a "bad guy"? (Related- how do the kids interact with you when you're a villian?) Do you keep in touch with any cast members who primarily played villians? Really enjoy your videos, especially the collaborations!
That kid that said "I hate you" I can't get over that, I'm still in shock after hearing that story
I met you as princess Jasmine the first time I went to Disney
Did you ever get spontaneous hugs from kids as a princess? Those are always my favorite
always! xo!
When we were kids my grandma usually took us to Disney World and told us not to pull on the characters, things like that. As I got older I always felt bad for the fur characters in that FL heat. I can't handle the heat in shorts and a t-shirt, I can't imagine having to wear that thing through the park with kids jumping on you and stuff. Had anyone ever passed out working as a fur character? Was that a rare or common thing if it did happen?
Also, if you could do a "tips for planning a disney trip", what attractions to skip, what to bring, etc. :-)
Omg in all the years I've been to disney, I've never seen those dinosaurs in dino land that Rachel mentioned lol
I love the story that you guys tell. Doing fur characters in the heat is hard work. You guys suffer a lot to bring joy to the guest. They appreciate it I’m sure.
You two are such fabulous role models!
I love the videos of you two & knowing that you still have such a great friendship & mutual understanding of the craziness.
I do have a question for Rachel.
I grew up there & worked there. But as a kid, back in the days when there was only 1 Snow, only 1 Cindy, it was an anniversary for the Snow White movie. And to honor this they had a float in the 3 O'clock parade that was filled with all the former Snow Whites. It was an amazing tribute. So my question is, has this ever been done since???
This was a awesome video Jennifer of you & Rachel together reflecting on your time with Disney. I bet there was a lot of times where you had good / not so good moments with meet and greets the, but it is also good that you can look back and have a bit of a laugh also experience on the outside what your kids enjoy cannot wait to see more awesome videos with you too.
lol 14:13 I thought of that scene from Home Alone where he goes outside and yells "I'm not afraid anymore". Great video! I'd love to see you do some "rank" videos. Like your rank of Disney princesses from best to worst and why. I'd assume Jasmine would be number 1?? but maybe not... :-)
I had sooo much fun watching Brian Hull's videos in Disneyland that I ended up here. I never expected such experiences could actually happen, I'm so sorry.
Great video, as always. I have a question: I know you played both Jasmine and Pocahontas at the parks, but you enjoyed Jasmine more. Do you think you still would’ve had a great experience if you had only been Pocahontas? Thanks!! :)
Be expecting a video on this topic by October! 😆🤞🙌💖💖
Jennifer Oakes Amazing, thanks!
Jennifer I LOVE your videos! Not only because of the topic but also because you are so well-spoken and down-to-earth ❤❤❤❤
wow. you made my year. lol. love you, thank you so much for being so encouraging! xo
Great video! As always, love seeing you both reflect on your time at WDW! It's really wonderful that neither of you can recall any negative experiences now that time has passed. The same with me at Disneyland. If you had've asked me then, I would have had a list for you, but as time has passed I only remember the good times... with a few small exceptions, courtesy the management. lol
Girls! I’d love to see more of these lol I’m interested in bad experiences you guys may have had! Or just experiences that annoyed you... or memorable experiences that you’ll never forget
Very interesting to hear these! I'm glad it's not ALL about handsy fathers, lol. As a solo male guest, I always made it very clear where my hands were when I dealt with Princesses, and never touched anybody! I often wonder if the more subpar character interactions were from an overworked Princess, and how the cast rotation was- I went to five different "Frozen" interactions over a week, and found a different pair every single time!
Love videos with both u and Rachel!! You guys have such good energy together ☺️
thank you!
i guess its good to if you have worst experiences because you will learn
Exactly
Can you guys do a video discussing how to separate yourself from the character? When people are rude and mean - is it difficult to not get down on yourself about it? Do people comment on the way you look - because in the end we are humans - you may get lipstick on your teeth or maybe have an eyebrow or facial hair you forgot to pluck (lol!!!!!) or a pimple/texture to our skin or maybe you drank coffee and your teeth are not the whitest (sorry for the Random things)!! Lmao but you know... we are not perfect cartoons! And I would assume that kids and even teenagers and adults kind of expect you too look perfect like the characters - even though as adults we know it’s not realistic but people just get weird when it comes to Disney and Disney characters because at Disney we feel like we are actually transported into this other world and these characters are real. Do people comment on any of those things? Do you feel bad because I would feel bad about myself lol - you can’t blame it on the character in those instances like you can with being called a savage or not wanting to take a photo with Snow White because he likes belle - this time it has to do with you as a person.
Forgot to add I watch another youtuber who used to be friends with belle and she told a story about how she had a pimple one day and had to work and put makeup (but even with makeup - it can cover things up but it doesn’t photoshop - we still can see a raised bump) and she said a kid pointed out and said if you’re belle why do you have a pimple? and she was mortified lol!
I've been wanting to ask a former princess this: have you ever seen a solo adult male in a Princess dining? What would you think if you see a solo male sitting alone in Akershus or CRT?
As someone who was a solo adult male, who did a lot of character dining, and meet and greets at WDW a couple years ago, I would be very interested in hearing an answer to this question!
The Friar Tuck story made me cry
you feel me! I never forgot! lol
Enjoyed this video, been watching it in parts throughout the day when I found the time!😄 I love it being long though, so many great stories and information💕 Love y’all❤️❤️
I feel like if I was called a savage as Pokahontes I would have started singing the begining of colors of the wind ,but I feel like that would cause more problems, but at the same time they say reply the way the character would, and she replied like that lol.
there you go!
Rachel reminds me of Roxanne in A Goofy Movie
Love Roxanne!
Girl you thought you were slow? Omg I was so slow that I would get in trouble lol.
At the end of your Pocahontas story, you mentioned it was probably teenagers doing it to be funny. To me, that is absolutely no excuse. People don't act appropriately anymore. Teenager or adult, people need to start acting appropriately and understand that actions have consequences.
Very interesting stories Rachel and Jennifer!
Love these videos !
I always assumed that most of the fur characters were males...Jen maybe the parents thought only kids can meet the characters so possibly thats why the dragged him along ans or if he wasn't close by he might run off on them? I don't know
Savage is a compliment.
lol. Yes, TODAY Savage can be used as a compliment, lol, but in the early 2000s it wasn't. They were trying to be smart but I dunno. Not w/Pocahontas... Not with Pocahontas. lol..
Hi. Wanted to ask your opinion on something as a former character performer. I last went to WDW in Orlando during May of 2016. During that trip I met a lot of characters, including princesses. I wanted to try and make most, if not all of my character experiences as memorable as possible, so, particularly with some of the princesses, I asked them if they would do a quick dance (waltz) with me. Each one I asked happily agreed. There was one day when Cinderella seemed a little hesitant at first, but ultimately did dance with me. I hear stories of some guests, particularly male guests, sometimes saying or doing creepy things when meeting with princesses. So I'm wondering, is making requests like that taking it a little too far? I of course was as polite, and respectful as I possibly could be, and the last thing I would ever want to do is creep anyone out! I was 28 at the time, and by myself. If it ever turned out that I disturbed any of them, even if they wouldn't say so out loud in that moment, I would feel terrible as that was not my intention at all! I just wanted to make some neat memories for myself. What do you think?
friar tuck deserves some justice. There are other disney characters that need to be loved not just the main ones like mickey and minnie. If i was there when you were friar tuck Jennifer I would've gave friar tuck and hug. it's awful you guys had those worst experiences.
That kid saying i hate you sounds absolutely awful. I'm so sorry that happened to you. As a mom who has not been to Disney yet (next year i hope) i feel that making a kid meet a character would just ruin the experience for the whole family maybe the whole day. If there's a character my kid doesn't want to meet he can stand near us and just not be involved.
These princesses have aged really well since the confessions video.
Wow. You made my year. 💕
Lol I know you have to be a fur character first before becoming a face character, but imagine auditioning for Disney and the character they give you is Friar Tuck 💀💀💀
