  • Answering some frequently asked questions about the audition process. If you guys want me to elaborate on anything below in the comments, please let me know. Or if you have different questions for another video in the future, please let me know. :)
    Love you guys and I wish you the best!
    xoxo
    ----
    Here's one acting school I suggest in Orlando if you'd like to better prepare for you audition:
    www.sakcomedyl...
    You start with the entry level improv acting class and then move up from there. I have taken level 1 (wasn't able to finish level 2 due do pregnancy) but I WISH I could go on taking more (My daughter takes up all my time these days, hehe)
    You guys will love it and tons of Disney and other theme park entertainers have trained here, including comedian Wayne Brady. :)
    If you don't live in Orlando, a great resource to start looking for acting classes is in the links below:
    www.sagaftra.org/ (Click on the "Locals" tab, then click on the city closest to yours, then click on "Local Resources" to find "SAG franchised agents" in your area which can tell you which acting schools are the best in your area, or if you click on "Casting Directors" and sometimes they might be able to let you know when they're hosting any seminars, or else their office can also let you know about the best acting schools in the area).
    Another GREAT resource is:
    www.backstage.c...
    Can't say enough great things about the above link!
    Lastly, one of my other favorite acting resource links is:
    www.castingfron...
    ANOTHER great resource if you're interested in performance art. I wish you guys all the very best!

    This summer I'm auditioning for a small company that does disney face characters for parties and I can't wait. I've been doing theater my entire life and I adore Disney. The plan is to be a part of the Disney College Program and be a part time face character as Snow White or Belle. You channel is really helping me better prepare so I can make my dream a reality within the next couple years.

    I would love to audition as belle when I'm a little older! She is the one I look most like, and relate to most personality wise. I've been planning on taking dance classes again for a while as I love to dance and I think this video might be the final push for me to do it! This was such a great video, thank you!

    I'm planning on majoring in musical theatre and I'm going to audition for a character right after I graduate high school next year. I'm so excited to audition. I work princess parties right now to try and get as much experience as possible. I'm definitely going for Snow White cause she is my favorite princess and I look so much like her. It's been my dream to work at Disney ever since I was little. So thank you so much for all your advice it has given me so much more confidence.

    How important do you think hair color/ eye color are when auditioning? My sister in law recently got cast as Elsa in Disney World, and looking at her you wouldn't think she could play Elsa. She went in thinking she had the best shot at Belle. She has natural brown eyes and brown hair, but with contacts, full makeup and the wig she really does look like her. Do you think they focus more on eye color/hair color or overall face shape and features?

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад +13

      Alexia Nolte GREAT POINT! as you mentioned, I think they are able to see beyond the color of ones hair and eyes (to a certain extent!) someone like me is not going to be considered for Cinderella no matter what! lol.. my look is definitely Latina/ethnic.. the "dark/stern latin eyes", my rounded nose, my thick eyebrows.. the tint in my skin.. unless I get a nose job and wax down my brows.. even then... lol. I still get messages from dark skinned Latina girls wanting to be Ariel or Cinderella.. it's not going to happen for us. lol. My guess is this---your sister in law has a certain stance about her, a demeanor.. I'm willing to bet she has killer posture. Elsa is a Queen.. I'm willing to bet she has a bit of height to her, is she at least 5'6" to 5'8"?? .. with Belle, the height isn't so important, but with Elsa, it might make more of a difference, giving guests a feeling of an imposing figure. It might've been the look in her eye.. there had to have been something they were looking for.. I'm also willing to bet they need Elsa right now more than they need Belle.. there's a chance she'll get a approved as Belle in the future maybe?! never know.. I'd say overall face and features----when girls have some sort of "ethnic" look, like Pocahontas though.. they are usually quick to cast her in that role.. with Pocahontas, my features weren't a perfect match, but in the USA, finding girls who look like Pocahontas isn't super easy.. I personally think girls with a Philippino background, or a Hawaiian background look most like her, however, girls who look Hawaiian aren't plentiful in Orlando.. and if they don't show up to audition, then they aren't going to be cast.. instead, it'll go to the girls who have the dark hair and dark eyes, since we're the closest resemblance.. though I did see a girl with green eyes portraying Pocahontas recently, but she also does Jasmine, so.. that's another thing, when you're Jasmine, you often double as Pocahontas, lol. It's complicated. lol. Generally, for overall features trumps eye color. lol. Also, for the girls wanting to be Tiana, they tend to prefer darker skinned girls.. there are often girls who are half white, half black who get upset because they aren't cast as Tiana.. they might have her features, but they aren't "dark enough," so that's something to be considered. Hope this helps! Often times, you won't know unless you just audition. xo

      I've heard of friends of Mulan doubling as Pocahontas. Did other Mulans ever play Pocahontas while you were doubling as Jasmine and Pocahontas? I find that interesting because the three of them look quite different (I'm sorry if this has been asked before)!

    i'm planning to move down to orlando with my two good friends when i turn 18 to audition for the disney face character cast. my friends are both older than me by 2 and 3 years, but we've made a pact to stay with the others when we turn 18 and audition as many times as we can!
    i'm very excited for the opportunity because i already love disney. last year, i performed at disney with my choir and had a fairly long solo. it was fun, but torturous because it was mid-may and we had to wear all black layered clothing :(

I can't wait!!! Jennifer, I love love love ALL your videos!! (Btw did you get a new camera? I've taken dance for 12 years, theatre when I can, and have natural singing and acting talents! Most of my friends say I resemble Ariel, belle and snow white but I can do any character! Hi Jennifer! Any advice for a Disney audition veteran? I've been to 9 Disney auditions and have made it through to the final round for most of them! I've been called back to sing for Jasmine in the Aladdin show twice and would really like to play the part! Maybe the 3rd time's the charm? :) Anyways, just wondering if you have any thoughts on what I might be missing. Being a Disney princess has always been one of my hopes, and I'm a big believer in "dreams do come true," but after 9 auditions, I'm wondering if it will ever happen!

    A lot of people say that I resemble Cinderella naturally but I perform as Anna on a regular basis (hence my current picture). I am an experienced dancer, I've taken acting classes for around 4 years and I'm intending on auditioning over spring break. What are some things that you can recommend for someone who resembles Cinderella but has lots of experience as Anna? I love both princesses.

    Hi Jennifer! I found your videos a few ago. I loved watching your princess confessions and your love store. I've been devouring your videos they are so fun to watch. :) I was wondering if you could do a video on Florida? What it's like to live there. I would really like to move to florida one day. Maybe when I'm done with college. I want to to closer to Disney World ;) I'm just curious what florida is like for people who live there. Do you like it? What do you not like about it?
    Thanks so much! Also I love learning about you and your little family. Any videos where you take about life. Would be fun to watch :) Or more vlogs those are great.

      It went fine, though I didn't make it past the first part ( the face look over) of the audition process. I suppose I wasn't what they were looking for at that audition. That by no means indicates that you shouldn't go for it and audition. You could very well be what they are looking for you :)

    Hi lovely! I am going in my sophomore year of high school and I wanted to ask you a quick question! Would you recommend wearing fake lashes to the audition? I am 5'7 and I know I am still going to grow since I'm only 14 going on 15 lol! I have pale skin, very light brown eyes, and dark black hair! I am thinking I resemble very closely to the Evil Queen and maybe Cruella. I often go to Disneyland since I live in LA and visit these characters often and I notice the villain friends have very long accentuated lashes! So because of this would you recommend for me to wear them to the audition in around two years? I have been watching your videos since I was 11 and you inspire me to continue training for this dream job! Thanks for all you do!

    Hi! I've heard it said that you never get to pick which character you are? Is this true? I know they have wigs and everything so that you will look like the princess and not your natural self. Do you have a better shot at getting a certain princess if you look like them?
    Thanks,
    Agglitterstudios
    Edit: I was just a bit confused, because based on what I've read, the princess situation is strange. For example, I have long, wavy brown hair and bright blue eyes. I know Belle has brown eyes, but I think that I resemble her the most. Could I still become a princess (if I get castes) that looks totally different than my natural features?

    • @nobody-og5tl
      @nobody-og5tl 7 лет назад +1

      No you do not get to choose what Princess or Princesses you'll portray. (They can make you 2 or 3) Even if you resemble a certain princess, you can be cast as a different princess that you don't even look like.

    Hi Jennifer I could use your help please:
    Which princess would I fit the best as I have:
    Blue eyes
    Blonde/light brown hair
    Pale skin with faint freckles
    I am 5'7
    Thanks

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад +2

      Olivia Allen It's hard to say without seeing your physical features, because many girls have these physical traits as well, but they don't necessarily resemble the cartoon character. It's important to remember that just because someone doesn't look like the cartoon doesn't mean they're not beautiful. There's soo many types of girls who are beautiful, not just ones that resemble a cartoon. But with what you listed, those are most closely associated with Aurora, Ariel, Merida, Cinderella, Anna, Elsa, and perhaps another one or two I may be forgetting.. I've seen girls who look nothing like the princess outside of costume, but when you get them in full makeup, and wig, costume, it's a complete transformation. They go more based off of shapes of eyes and nose, bone structure, that sort of thing. Because hair color is easily changed.. and light freckles are totally fine. The last Ariel I met had a ton of freckles.. as did Anna and Merida and I've met many Cinderellas with faint freckles too. Best wishes!

    I have a tattoo on my hip that goes above my belly button just below my rib cage. I'm a very pale girl with dark hair so I feel like the most chance I'd have with a princess would be Snow White, Belle, or Elsa. Would it impact my chance of getting the job because of how high my tattoo goes?

      Most of the time you just carry your bag around. Before you do the actual audition they'll tell you to either put it to the side or out of the way. I always have to bring a bag with me to have my medical supplies and I've never had an issue.

    my biggest question is whether or not the wigs are uncomfortable... i've always wondered this and i don't know if anyone has thought to ask it before :)

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад +1

      Tilly Lewis lol! wow! Neck problems?! the Princess Jasmine wig was the heaviest of all the girls I knew.. (it was two wigs in one!) and I never had neck problems.. but I did have a hard time keeping it on sometimes during the crazy sweaty summer heat when I used to be outside at Epcot and MK. LOL! I can see people getting neck problems from the fur character costumes super, super easily though! I used to have stiff neck after Pluto, it really requires some good upper body strength, I always felt guys had it easier in the fur outfits than the girls because they usually had good upper body strength, also each morning we were required to do a mini workout to help get rid of those types of problems for that very reason (some of the costumes are indeed heavy!).. I believe the exercises helped a great deal.

    • @OakesPrincess

      zoë dodson Hey Zoe! I can only speak for myself, but the wigs were never uncomfortable for me. :) We all used wig caps underneath to protect our real hair and then simply pinned the wigs on.. Jasmine usually required 4-6 high quality pins.. 2-3 of those pins were especially long towards the base of the wig and at the top of my wig I used some special double sided tape.. It was wonderful stuff and worked super well to keep it in place.. only during the super sweaty heat of summer did keeping that wig on become a challenge, but that was only during July/August.. the rest of the year I was pretty good. :) It wasn't too heavy at all, though it did feel long.. between the Jasmine and the Pocahontas wig, it gave me a wonderful sense of what it must feel like to have super long hair that goes down to your waist.. If only it was my reality!!! xoxoxo

    Hi Jennifer! I'm a huge fan to start off with, I think you are so pretty and tell your daughter hi for me! I was curious as to If they ever need Disney princesses to sing, Ive been told multiple times that when I sing I sound like rapunzel, Anna, Ariel, and belle (depending upon the song) and that I resemble Anna, rapunzel and Ariel (as long as I have a red wig of course). Thanks!

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад +3

      Allison Duck Hey Allison! I was always told never to sing when I was doing meet n greets (in lines with guests).. some people who did have vocal talent disregarded this rule though and sang anyway, haha, I can think of one Aladdin I worked with in particular who had a great Aladdin singing voice and he used it ALLL the time regardless of what management thought, haha, he did it when managers weren't around. :) Guests always LOOOVED it... this made it awkward for me though because then the guests would look to me next to him, expecting me to sing, but I always had to make up an excuse like, "Oh, Jafar cast a spell on my voice!" I didn't want to ruin my Aladdin's beautiful song and ruin the magic with a terrible singing voice! haha, and that's why they have the rule of no singing.. because then if they meet Belle and she sings, but then they see her the next day at another park (different girl) and she can't sing, then there is no consistency.. and not all singing voices are the same.. so they reserve the singing characters for the stage shows, and that's a separate audition for singing roles.. they pay MUCH higher than what the average princess gets and you would be on a stage singing for guests instead of meeting them and signing autographs. You can check the Disney website to see when they hold auditions for vocal talent. I hope you're cast in those roles! They are much more prestigious! Best wishes and hugs!

    I am half Arab and half Celtic, so I can get a good tan, have dark eyes, but I have freckles. Do you think this could go against me getting picked for anyone? Because I know I'm too dark for any of the freckled characters :P. Also, I have always felt that my style and personality is more Snow White, like I love bows and lipstick, and I love the fact that she's so kind and happy. However, I know that I'm not white enough for her and my obvious option would be Jasmine because Arab :(. Is there any chance they may still take me on despite this?

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад +1

      Sumaya Mozumder PLEASE TELL management you want to be considered as Jasmine... from what I hear, and this could all be just a rumor, but they tend to prefer to cast girls who are Caucasian and not very dark.. it depends on who is in management and what their vision for Jasmine is, in my opinion, it's difficult for casting to find girls who are "dark enough" but also who speak with an American accent.. the American accent is key. If a girl who looks a lot like Jasmine comes in with a thick ethnic accent but a lighter skinned girl who might be able to portray Jasmine comes in and speaks with the American accent, they will give it to the girl with the American accent. It's something to keep in mind.

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад +2

      EmmP3 LOL! ay yi yi! this is a very REAL possibility. That's when I would "try to find a new dream." I do believe there is a time to let go.. and that would be a time. There are dozens of beautiful and successful movie stars out there who do not look like any of the princesses.. Kiera Knighly for example.. she's gorgeous, but is she Cinderella? Anna? or even Belle? Perhaps Belle, but her face shape seems a tad off.. does she let the fact she might not be cast as a Disney princess stop her? absolutely not! she still went out and made a name for herself. I would then have other aspirations and dreams outside of the Disney princess dream.. it's important to have other career goals anyway, even if you are cast, because the job only lasts as long as you look young.. once you begin to look "more mature" than the average girls working there, then.. they cut you out of those roles and you're relegated to fur characters.. and if that's not what you want to do for a living, is be a fur character, then you need to have a backup plan. xo hope this helps! xo

    Really quick question, every time I go to Disney World...I never see the Princes, just the princesses for Meet-and-greets...when is the best time to meet the princes? Or do they even do Meet-and-greet. I know Aladdin and Gaston (even though he isn't a prince) does them, but that's all I can recall. I always see on Instagram people meeting princes, could that be because it's Disneyland perhaps?

      Lana Small agreed! I was going to say the same as you! I actually never met a prince Phillip the entire time I worked there.. haha, five years! I only ever saw Prince Eric once!! (One of my Aladdins doubled as him) I also saw Prince Charming but only during the parades when we'd be getting ready .. really the only time I ever saw princes was getting ready in the cosmetology room for parades or shows.. :( total bummer, they sooo need them more often!

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад

      Leydi Morales Hey Leydi! I pretty much had the same answer as Lana, I mentioned to her how the only time I really ever saw the other characters were getting ready in the cosmetology room for parades/shows... they never ever went out for sets.. only on like she said, Valentine's day.. one of my Aladdins was in the tunnels dressed as Prince Eric (he did both characters) and it was exciting for me to see him that way (he was great as both characters) but I wish I could've seen him with Ariel on set.. they really need to do that more often! It might've been in Disneyland or even Tokyo Disney.. or even Paris. It's a good question! xo

    Is Disney more willing to hire someone if they know that they have dancing or acting experience? Also, does figure skating count with all of that? I'm a competitive figure skater, and I also take some ballet classes specifically designed for skaters.... Also, would it hurt or help me if my twin sister also auditions? (Sorry for so many questions in one comment. but thank you so much for your wonderful videos!)

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад +1

      BBskatertwins thanks for commenting! I believe Disney is more willing to hire people with dance experience (even more so than acting, however, I think acting is very helpful!!!!) with the dance experience, I think figure skating would probably still count, especially if you have that ballet background, because what it comes down to is being able to learn the choreography.. so many times they would check to see if my coordination had improved, lol.. (I should've been taking dance while I was there but with school and work I felt like I never had time, but girls who had the background of dance didn't have to worry, because it was like second nature to them to learn the dance routines they taught)... but if you can be taught choreographed dance routines---that is the key!!! I would see the instructor do ten moves super fast and then be expected to repeat that routine.. I couldn't do it! I could barely remember how they did the first couple steps.. it wasn't just a move of the leg, they used their whole body, hands, arms.. it's a lot of coordination involved.. so that's something I imagine you learn with figure skating.. hand placement, all that stuff. Being confident. Having that control over your body.. it truly is an art/skill. it wouldn't hurt to have a twin sister also audition at all! if you're both cast it's a win win! I knew 2 Snow Whites who were cousins and they looked sooo much alike.. they were both great! Hope this comment helps! xo

    I know that working as a Disney princess is difficult for me, because I do speak English but I have a Spanish accent. But my dream is to work as a costume designer for Disney, I am currently a fashion design student so that would be possible :)

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад +1

      Silvia Snow that's amazing! yes, costume design is a HUGE part of the Disney magic, HUGE! They are coming out with a new "Latina Princess" from what I heard, but I'm not aware of her accent, it's hard I know! I knew a girl who wanted to be cast as Pocahontas soo bad, she was Latina and looked a lot like her! however she had a very thick accent and I remember how upset she was for not getting cast even though she looked more like Pocahontas than any of the girls working there at the time, including me! She could have worked to learn how Pocahontas spoke, as most of the best actors in Hollywood like Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman, have learned to speak with an American accent, but I guess she didn't think she had the ability to learn the American accent. I believe if we work hard to achieve something then we can eventually reach our goal! but maybe not everyone wants to learn to speak with a different dialect/accent. It's something to consider though! xo

    hey Jennifer! I was just wondering... i know the earrings are clip-on so it doesn't matter if you have your ears pierced. but what if I was cast for someone like wendy alice or tinkerbell? they don't wear earrings. did you know any girls that had their ears pierced and were tinkerbell, alice, etc? thanks!

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад +1

      lost girl ♡ yeah, they had them pierced but nobody said anything, you just keep your earrings out.. if I'm not mistaken the wigs hide a lot, and the characters are so engaging that the guests don't focus on ear piercings, you just have to really engage the guests when you're performing. It all works out. :)

    Thanks again for the video Jennifer! I have a question about the audition...sorta. I know you have to bring a head shot and resume. Can you have a head shot of you with blue contacts and got into the audition with brown eyes? That way they don't only see you as a character with brown eyes and can consider you for more options....or would that kinda be cheating?

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад

      DisneyDiva93 Hey! quick question, where did you hear you needed to have a headshot and resume??? the only time you need a headshot to my knowledge is for equity type roles at Disney.. such as the ones who are auditioning for stage shows, the Ariel who sings, for example.. when I auditioned we didn't use headshots.. is this something new?? the only time I've ever used headshots/resumes are for when I've auditioned for television or film... but if this is new that Disney requires headshots, then I'd suggest bringing two headshots.. one as yourself with brown eyes and the other with yourself as blue eyes.. let them decide which version of you they prefer from there.. one of the pet peeves a lot of casting directors have is that their actors don't look like their headshots, but again, I just can't imagine Disney asking girls to bring headshots.. they are very into seeing you up close and personal.. they always inspected me even after I was cast.. every 6 months I used to have to go to a special office and speak with the casting directors.. they wanted to be sure I had no gained weight, that I didn't get tattoos or piercings.. and that I still was up to the Disney standard. And in between those six month visits with the casting directors, I would regularly be looked at by management for the same exact reasons.. they would come visit me on set to make sure I was performing up to a Disney standard.. they would come unannounced and often I never saw or knew that they were watching until after my shift was over and they would come to the dressing room with a clipboard full of notes that they took and they would lecture the Aladdin and I.. lol.. "Jasmine make sure you're not bending at the waist.. be sure to act more princess like.." or "You did wonderful! We loved how you handled the little girl who was too afraid to meet you! You and Aladdin looked so in love! Keep up the good work!" things like that.. it's hard for me to imagine that they'd place any weight on a headshot.. that's more something for television or film or Disney stage shows for equity.. but again, they might've changed things??! let me know!

    • @DisneyDiva93
      @DisneyDiva93 9 лет назад +1

      Oh, well I've seen many videos from girls who auditioned at Disney to be princesses and my aunt(who works at Disney) sent me a full packet of tips and the audition experience that she got from one of the cast members and they all talk about a head shot with a resume on the back. I guess whether they want one or not, I might as well bring one just in case, better safe than sorry. But I would ask around and see if they say the same things I said. Also, I wanted to let you know that I recently got to perform my first dance routine to Frozen's Let It Go! If you'd like I can send you the video? PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION, I have tried finding the answer on google but nothing relative came up. I'm 18 years old and really considering auditioning in 2017. However, my skin tone is a caramel/olive colour, I have a natural tan, not as dark skinned as Princess Tiana, but not as fair as Snow white. I'm wondering whether not having fair skin, means I won't be considering for playing roles like sleeping beauty or Cinderella. I feel like the only princess I could pull of is Tiana but I'm no where near as dark skinned. Does this mean my chances of resembling a princess are slim? I would really appreciate it if you could answer thanks so much :)

      +Kelsey♡dancer ooooo.. that's a great question! I'd have to see the mole to give you a better answer.. casting can be picky about that sort of thing, especially if it's very noticeable, because they won't want guests to say, "Hey, Cinderella didn't have that mole there.." but if it's easy to hide with makeup, then they might not care. They don't care about singing unless you're specifically auditioning to be a character who sings, such as Ariel at the Hollywood Studios show, however, most of the Ariels that guests meet and take photos with do not sing at all. Hope this helps! xo

The queue gets pretty long from about 9.30, last time just under 200 people showed up for that one audition day! 1st you fill in a few forms, they then measure you and then they do a presentation about the Disney job and contracts and housing and stuff. Then it's the animation round where you have to show what you can do as a fur character (cowboy, pirate, dwarf, villain, princess, yourself) then if you pass that theres a dance round, but there's some contracts that don't involve dance so dont worry if dance isn't your thing, Then you either get a dance contract, go get into wig and make up or are cut. If you are cut they're nice about it and say to try again. Sorry, I know that's really long, but hope it helps somewhat :) x

      Carys Stubbs Thank you! no its fine the more the better so thank you for letting me know :) I watched the other girl's videos like you suggested, and although she is super helpful I cant help feeling like she's quite negative (maybe a case of sour grapes??) have you noticed? haha! I was most worried about the dancing round and had visions of competing against like 500 people so thank you thats made me alot more confident knowing everyones lovely and its nice and relaxed :) I'm most worried about the dancing round but Im just gonna smile and enjoy myself, I cant do any better than that :) Xxx

      Glad you found it useful. I hadn't really noticed she was negative tbh, I think she's just trying to be matter of fact and informative :) dance round is also the one I'm most nervous about but you don't have to be a dancer for all the contracts. I think so long as you keep smiling and you put alot of energy into everything you should be fine :) I'm completely buzzing for the audition now though and getting on prepping my animation routine (pays to be prepared) What day you going? xx

      As long as you've applied for the program, you can audition!! You must attend one of the auditions specifically for CPs. Good luck!!

    Hello, I'd like to do the auditions for face character in Disneyland Paris, but I think I have three things that will immediately rule me out: some moles on my face and body, a tattoo on the forearm (many princesses have gloves, but could exclude me regardless ) and I'm 28 years old ... I know that the biggest princesses are 26 or 27 years old ... do you think it's useless to try? Thanks in advance :)

    Thanks so much for all the tips and advices! If I look like a character enough and I have a considerable background in performing, but my height isn't exactly what was preferred, would that hurt me much or at all? Thanks! Much love and more power to your channel! 💋

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  8 лет назад +2

      +Yasmin Marcelo I think it would depend on how off the person's height was. For example, if someone wanted to be Cinderella and had everything going for them, but they were 5'2", it would probably be a deal breaker because the dresses they have in costuming aren't made for someone with that height. Also, the other girls portraying that character are of similar height to help maintain a look of similarity, keeping things "the same, " so if you see Cinderella Saturday and she's tall, then Sunday, she's short? They don't really like that, it sort of screams, "this is a different girl".. so they hire girls with similar height in a certain role too. Hope that helps.

      +Jennifer Oakes thanks for answering! And sorry for a follow up question, I may be getting too chatty/curious 🙈). Because I have Filipino features, I got numerous comments about looking like Jasmine or Mulan. I have read the preferred height in the Disney parks' website, but many say that there are exceptions. Would you say that 5'0 is a deal breaker to be Jasmine or Mulan? I realize that my height might still work for a pixie character, but as for the other two princesses, I have my doubts.
      Thanks again for taking the time!!!

    Hi! I read somewhere that when you work at disney you have to live with 1 or 2 other disney workers in an apartment owned by disney or something? Is this true, or is it perhaps just a certain group? And if it is true, what does their policy say about pets? Sorry, lots of questions, but I don't find the answers anywhere!

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад

      raisethesoprano OOOOoooh, great question.. when you work at Disney you can live off property.. I was married and lived with my husband.... I think it's only the College Program/International program who this applies to.. they do have to live in a Disney apartment. I don't know what their policy says about pets, I don't think people really have any.. I'm not sure though. Have you watched any RUclips videos on college program? I'm hoping to do a collab this summer with someone about Disney's college program. :) You can also search about it on the official Disney website. :)

      That's really helpful! I didn't find anything about it on their site.. I'll check out the college program as well, thanks! And if you do a collab, could you please ask them if they know about the living/pet situation? :)

    I have a quick question, I plan on going to an audition where they are looking for female character look-alikes from the movies: "Aladdin, Princess and the Frog, Moana, (and) Elena of Avalor." It is sort of a long shot or "waste of time" for me to go to this because I'm very pale? Thanks for the help 😊

    • @elliexbh9584
      @elliexbh9584 7 лет назад +1

      There's such thing as spray tan! 😉 don't let that get you down, Disney hire all sorts of people from black to white and I'm sure if you're like me and very pale like you said then you can always soak up the Rays whilst you're there if you're not so happy with spray tan and wait to see if you can get a real one!

    When auditioning for Disneyland Paris they say to refrain from wearing any makeup? would you still say to go in looking like the character or not?

    • @OakesPrincess
      @OakesPrincess  9 лет назад

      Emma Gardner oh wow----that is soo different from what auditions are like in the USA. Did you hear that somewhere or did they actually tell you this? If that's their rule then I would wear concealer at the very least, to cover my under eyes.. haha, I can tend to have darker under eyes and I would feel so unattractive going in without that. I'd also wear a little lip balm to moisten my lips, it would probably be tinted slightly to enhance the color. I think they just don't want to see people totally transforming their face?? not sure why they would ask that, especially if the job is going to require you in makeup every single day. haha, oh well. but yeah, I'd do something like that, the absolute minimum in cosmetics.. if for example you die going out in public without mascara, perhaps try a shade of mascara that matches your eyelash color, so instead of black, perhaps try a regular old brown color so it's much less noticeable, then maybe a lip balm and no concealer...It would vary face to face, person to person. I'd do my best to go very fresh faced. hope that helps!

    what about scars? I'm about to be 17 and I just got bit in the face by a dog. It's by my lip and I can't fully cover it up but I can make it not as noticeable as it would be with makeup.

    • @AbigailJoyyy
      @AbigailJoyyy 9 лет назад +1

      I know this question is old, and that I'm not Jennifer, but I do have an answer! Unfortunately no identifiable marks are acceptable on princesses. Just like a scar or a mole, if a little girl met Belle one day and met her again the next (with a different girl) and one of those girls had a scar and the other didn't, it would be confusing and remove the magic. Try scar removers and continue to work on covering it up! That is a bummer!
