There used to be a Katz in Austin, TX back in the days I used to live there. I recall dining there and being entertained by the local, homeless, crossdresser, activist, and Austin icon, Leslie Cochran; as he posed outside a picture window wearing only a Hooters uniform. God rest his soul. Gotta love old school Austin. Keep Austin Weird!!🌼💖

The Katz deli in NYC was an institution that was their for over 30 years but they closed. I had eaten there many times, their sandwich’s were so big you couldn’t eat the whole thing ,so you had to carry half of it all around the city. Lol

A patty melt usually doesn’t have lettuce and tomato 🍅, the “melt” comes from the cheese on both sides of the bread, but his looks like a great cheeseburger club!!

Yeah, I feel ya' on this one. That Houston location doesn't remotely compare to their 30+ year old Austin location; which shut down years ago. I do not have a doubt that the original 100+ year old location far surpasses all others. Lucky!! Lol
