  • Katz's Deli in NYC is one of the most famous restaurants in NYC, maybe one of the most famous restaurants in the world! It's beloved by tourists and locals alike, with many famous people having eaten there. The Katz's Deli Anthony Bourdain clip, the Katz's Deli Man Vs Food clip, Katz's Deli Mark Wiens clip, Katz's Deli Guy Fieri clip, are all very well known. The restaurant became famous due to the Katz Deli When Harry Met Sally scene, but even then Katz's Deli was the oldest deli in NYC and the oldest Jewish deli in New York City and it had beloved patrons dating back to 1888. Katz's Deli's pastrami on rye is one of the best pastrami on rye sandwiches in NYC. They have the best pastrami in New York City, and they also make some of the best corned beef in NYC. I would even go so far as to say Katz's Deli makes the best pastrami in the USA and the best pastrami in the world. However, due to their amazing reputation, they charge a whopping $26 per sandwich now. Some people decry that Katz's Deli is overrated and Katz's Deli is overpriced.
Is Katz's Deli overrated? That is our mission in today's episode, to find out if the famous Katz Deli pastrami sandwich is worth the price tag or not. We also try the famous NYC egg cream and talk a bit about the origin of the egg cream drink.
In either case, I hope you enjoy this video! It was fun to film a Katz's Deli mukbang video and to eat at a famous NYC Jewish restaurant. Even if it's not worth $26 I would suggest trying the oldest deli in NYC at least once in your life!

@@SamBrickell nobody is saying inflation is low so you're exaggerating. and u obviously have an agenda with the picture you're trying to paint which is typical of the 'conspiracy theorist' doom and gloom. truth is the stock market has continually risen for the most part which is a positive. employment rate has been at an all time high. inflation is sky high which is a negative. Tensions around the world and domestically are extremely high. It always makes me laugh though how many of you tout alternative media over mainstream, which has its issues, but alt media is far more untrustworthy which is why you're promised all of these smoking guns constantly by alt right media but can never win in court with any of the vast conspiracies you people believe in. It's also why your media outlets have been sued and had to settle out of court on multiples of occasions so far. It's just funny with some of the stuff a lot of you believe.

Great video, you are absolutely right about Katz's pastrami. I love seeing and hearing how much you appreciate good food. Just two things -- first, the brighter-green pickles are called "half-sours" because they aren't completely pickled, and I agree with you, to me they are a pale imitation of the yellower-green real thing, but some people prefer them, and they are made that way on purpose.
The other thing is, $26 doesn't seem quite so expensive when you figure in A) you are almost certainly going to take half of that monster-huge sandwich home for a whole 'nother meal, and B) you won't be hungry again for two days, so think of the money you're saving on food for tomorrow and the next day. . .

The bright green pickels are called half sours. They are a very different type pickel they are not fermented, the are not preserved with Vinager. Just salt water and a day or two on the fridge. So if your expecting a dill pickel yes they will taste like a cucumber. Now that you know what it is taste it again. You will find a very flavorful pickel that is super crunchy and refreshing and tasty. In fact they may become one of your favorite pickels. Taste them with different expectations. Lucky dog. BTW, the pickles are not hit or miss, they are actually two different types. Regular and half sour. The half sour is for those who like a fresher tasting pickle without the heavy brine.
Also, if you prefer more fat, you can ask the cutter for a fatty cut. I do that and it is SO tender, juicy and delicious!

That's insane $26. When The Times mentioned the Langer deli in Los Angeles in 1973, the price had risen to $1.75. In 2002, it was $8.50. In just 20 years, the price is now $26?????? Has pizza gone up 3 times????? From $2 to $6???? I don't think so. The all you can eat buffet at Casino Borgata is $24!!! I would rather feed some homeless people and eat at home. Living in luxury when our neighbor is in poverty makes no sense. But I would end it with a girl who bought one of these and didn't share it. At a place in Teaneck which is ten times worse it is $29. You have to be batshit crazy. Their other place closed. I'm going to start a food truck and feed people sandwiches for $5.

If you want cheap, go to your nearest Walmart or Aldi and buy cheap cold cuts and white bread and enjoy your $3 sandwich. I have no problem paying $20 for a corned beef or pastrami sandwich at Zingermans in Ann Arbor, MI either. When institutions like this close their doors, they will never reopen. Money does not enter into the equation when you speak about top quality items with no equal. It’s best that you take your money sensitive palate elsewhere. How about Papaya King?
