Im from CA, went to NY last year to visit family had my dad who is a native to NY take me to this truck. This was my 1st chopped cheese and it was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. I was mad i didnt buy 2 to eat one later. Definitely worth it!!!!!
Eight months ago I saw this video for the first time. It doesn't contain a detailed recipe, but it gave me a pathological desire to not just make this sandwich, but to make it perfect for my tastes. During the first three months, I delved into the study of different cheeses and their combinations, while selecting spices so that they would enrich the flavor without depriving it of its naturalness. It took me several months to choose the recipe for the bun (I was looking for the ideal ratio of moisture and airiness). And now I can say that I have achieved very good results. Thank you for not only showing the masters of cooking craft, but also for giving me inspiration. And the biggest thank you I would like to say to Bodega Truck!

The “super market they go to” is restaurant depot and it is open to the public, when you arrive check in at the front desk, write your name down and continue shopping then let the checkout know you signed in at the front and your name.
Yeah you just ask for a day pass and they let you in. You can also tell them you are buying alcohol and they have to let you in. NY has a weird law that prevents any business from putting alcohol sales behind a pay wall. You can get into Costco and other membership stores the same way without a membership. Pretty sure it works at country clubs as well but have never tried it.
I've known many people who have worked in or owned food trucks, he isn't lying when he says it's a hard job. I wouldn't want to do it, but I'm glad there are people out there who do.
Speaking from a standpoint of being born & raised in philly for 22 years but currently living in new york for 8 years..i gotta vote philly cheese steak over chopped cheese lol. After a while chopped cheeses can get boring because they all taste exactly alike no matter what place you visit in nyc. Certain philly cheesesteaks can taste different from place to place in philly. I came to see my dude in willamsburg because thats the closest thing to ozone park lol. Dude was such a cool laid back guy ordered el domincano over fries the og the regular smegular and the pizza chop cheese over fries for me my kids and wife. After we got our food dud3 put some candy in the bag for the kids. The food was 8.5 outta 10 for real. But the fact dude threw the candy in th3 bag for free made me feel like he really for the community.
