- In this episode, we comment on some recent interviews and other Reylo related news that hint strongly that The Rise of Skywalker will have a satisfying conclusion for Rey and Kylo's arc.
We start by commenting on Empire Mag's exclusive, beautiful cover and its symbolism. We comment on a German poster for Episode IX, where Kylo is strategically placed near Rey's... Anyway.
We analyze recent TV spots. We also comment how related material is hinting very strongly at Bendemption, and what so much effort into comvincing people of Kylo's redeemability means for TROS.
We also comment on Star Wars and the Mandalorian, and what the Star Wars overload might mean in terms of strategy.
We conclude with some final thoughts about the fandom and our very happy predictions for the conclusion of the Sequel Trilogy.

The idea of Rey taking the Skywalker name without marrying into the family really irritates me. She’s not a Skywalker. And after the Treatment of Luke and the hesitance to even mention Anakin in the ST I feel like it wouldn’t be honoring their legacy, it would be erasing them for Rey’s sake.
This just can't end tragic, it would make no sense. I think we get an epic kiss between Ben and Rey. Also, congrats Lee. 👸💞🤴

So let me take this moment to say That today I want to commend Adam Driver for today's interview piece for simply telling the entire world that you do not get to be a judge and jury on a piece of fiction let alone a make believe character on what his fate ought to be , get to know him, understand and learn about the truth before making such preconceived judgments, statements or opinions, give him the chance to tell his story from his fall and deconstruction and eventual rise. This is from none other than the actor himself saying what many of us have been stressing so much for a long time to hundreds of individuals that don't want to step out of their bubble, wake up and have an open mind. Well if after today some still don't get it....don't stress it anymore, don't argue...STOP WORRYING it’s unproductive we've done a lot and did the best we could now we just let them be , leave them be they’re not ready. And furthermore one more thing I want to get off my chest and then I’ll Come back ... This is the exact reason why I avoid reading interviews Or a bypass the majority of them at least and magazines because holy cricket Are these journalists and writers so annoying and such a festival of cringe The questions that get asked half the time and how the actors and the directors and Kennedy must feel half the time you know I commend them And someone should give them a 🎖 for handling and putting up with such a hoopla of cringe.
Yes, that was an awesome interview! It came after we recorded it. Like I said. Advent Calendar. Every day there's something... I think the cringe questions are to make sure they talk about stuff that people have been wondering, even if it's to deny it.

Ben between Rey's legs in the German poster could also be symbolic for a rebirth scenario. Like Rey is "the mother" who is one of the reasons that Ben Solo will be reborn.

I was thinking about how each movie the end has Kylo proposing to her in some manner to be with him it would make sense to end the 3rd movie the same way but this time she accepts. It would be weird it doesn't end with a 3rd proposal. However all the footage I've seen of Rey she goes proper dark and almost seems toxic to him. Interesting change and hopefully people won't defend her actions and see she is a flawed character and not all righteous

23.39 I wonder in the hangar bay scene with the two leads, Ben is letting Rey go because he's walking calmly towards her (standing on the edge of the precipice) and he can see (and sense, probably) the arriving Millennium Falcon. She's leaving him but he's not stopping her.

I became a Reylo shipper in the moment I saw Rey's interrogation scene.... I just want these two kids to be happy. I think their romance is not going to be explicit but I hope they'll give us the certainty they would. I read in twiter Daisy said the movie has moments of hope. I want to believe this hope is about Ben's redemption and our space babies implying they love each other. Please Disney. Thank you ladies for this awesome episode.

I'm leaning more and more towards Kylo taking the Skywalker name. Even if he's redeemed he has to have guilt for what he did to Han right? Why would he take that (fake) name? He's always been obsessed with his grandfather anyway. Maybe Anakin makes a brief appearance to urge him to take the Skywalker mantle and redeem the entire family once and for all. Happy to see Rey along for the ride but do not like the idea of her adopting the name and Kylo no where to be found. Horrible.

So many great thoughts - I’m crazy pumped about TROS 🤩 My ONLY concern is that they’d HAVE to create different clothes for Adam Driver as a light side character. He looks misplaced with the padawan outfit. It really doesn’t look good on him! 😂
I can see Ben being bullied all the way through his childhood because he was different, misunderstood & feared by his parents & then betrayed by the only steady figure in his life. Yeah, it all makes sense! 🙌🏼

Another good point, redeeming Kylo to have him thrown down a bottomless pit would be a waste of a much better storyline...namely Reylo balancing the Force together through their love for each other.

Hang in there. And look at it this way: If Reylo doesn't happen, then Disney and Lucasfilm has wasted so much time and money, and a great story, and that is something they'll have to live with.
The leaks are pretty much pro Reylo. There's redemption, Ben saves Rey... There could well be a kiss there somewhere. The issue with the leaks is the ending, but the leaks are probably coming from people working in marketing or vfx. If it's marketing, they will not have seen the ending. If it's VFX, they'll have seen big scenes, not intimate, character moments.
Reylo will happen, the leaks confirm it but not to my liking. Given I want a full deep romance 😂

In order to play safe, JJ Abrams might hint to reylo in a superficial way, just a hint like in TLJ. So he'll keep the door open, but no too much , so it won't upset anti-reylo fans, and then in the future explore Reylo deeply in a comic or a book. That would be desapointing though
Yeah, I think that's the risk now, that they'd leave it subtle, but it wouldn't be a smart move. They'd miss the chance to have an epic romance and they would leave everyone dissatisfied. They have the chance to deeply satisfy a part of the fandom, and I hope they take it.

Oh I see folks talking about their language's official translation of TROS title. In Hungarian the title is not rise but "The Age of Skywalker". I think it is really interesting and it doesn't makes me think of a person but indeed of an order or a title. They could have used the word "rise", we have that word in our language.

The build-up to this movie has made me so depressed
Since we are so close now to TROS, I have been thinking and loving the absolute bombardment of SW content, not just from the last few months but for almost a year now. We have had books, comic books, tv shows, video games, theme parks and it has been all leading up to TROS. It has been super crazy and since we are in the final push before TROS, I just want to enjoy it all and have fun. Almost there!

Yeah, not all theories come true... When I watched something I hated when I was a child I made up a different ending in my head. Headcanon for life. That said, we still don't know what's going to happen.
At 8.10 when commenting, so forgive me if I'm adding something that will be spoken later, but it also looks to me from the imagery that like Rey, Ben is growing up and he's becoming much tougher than he was in the last two films. Less vulnerable and more masculine. Coming of age all around? :)

I am not ok with the Jedi order becoming Skywalker order or something. I think is too individualistic and borders arrogance, to me what Luke says about vanity and the force not belonging to Jedi also means that it doesn't belong to the Skywalker family. But if she takes the name by marrying the last Skywalker all I can say is: you go girl, I would too.

The sad part is the leaks becoming true every day because of the new photos and teasers.
Don't pay attention to the leaks. I believe those leaks are from people who worked on the trailers. Also, what is the marketing, cast interviews and story telling us? None of those things are matching the leaks. Trust in everything Star wars has shown us so far. Does Ben dying seem like a "victory for all time" ending. Yoda doesn't say that line for no reason. The victory for all time is coming and Ben and Rey are the key to that.
I agree the leaks are from marketing because the leaks are very detailed to trailer scenes that we are getting. Also remember Kevin Smith said the end blew his mind and the set for the last scene was in studio. An ending of Rey Skywalker on tatooine isn't a mind blowing scene. Also this movie is coming out at Christmas not a fun message to see all the Skywalker bloodline wiped out for the holidays. I think the leaks really only come from marketing material only.
But most of the leaks are likely true. It doesn't mean that they're all true.

If force ghost Luke teaches Rey or Kylo how to redirect force lightning like what happened between Zuko & uncle Iroh in the last Airbender, it would be a great callback to what happened in the throne room between Luke/Vader & Palpatine vs. what might happen between Rey/Kylo & Palpatine. It would be so fricken unexpected if Kylo just blocks the force lightning like Yoda.
OMG, Kylo would be perfect for that just because he shows some insane force powers in TFA and it would look really cool.

I actually... Don't think I need a kiss. All I need is them not resolving their sexual tension and not touching the entire movie so that in the end after the big fight when they stand in the rubble of what's left and Rey looks around breathing heavy and then... She just feels a tug on her hand and it's Ben who just very gently takes her hand and intertwines their fingers.
(and then it's kind of a hassle cause you try to convince him to ever let go of that hand again like when the rebel forces turn up and everyone is like WHAT Happened or they need to pilot their way back home and Rey is like uhm need my hand back and Ben just grabs it harder and does whatever she wanted to do with his free hand... Yeah I have a weird fixation on their hand holding sue Me.)

Great podcast ladies! Ben's redemption is pretty much a yes, it's just a matter of WHEN and HOW it'll happen in the movie. Rey really seems to be ANGRY angry at him in all the footage they've released so far lol (that and maybe the fact that she could be somehow starting to get consumed by the dark side) at least in some way (dark rey!) so i'm really looking forward to see how that plays out.

You’re going to have to fight with your words and it’s more than just because you’re a woman and it's not just solely for that...either way at time there will be people that will find ways to make it hard for them to take you seriously or give you what you want. The world is trying to tell you you're a victim because of what you are, but the only person that can stop you from moving forward is you. It[s one thing to fight with a weapon but using your words and thinking...that's another battle. You know that you are strong, independent and ambitious because you are a very smart girl. OK it's as if this week couldn't get even more thrilling and exciting... now apparently we are going to get an exclusive behind the scenes look on "The Rise of Skywalker' during a holiday program oh my dear God we have been getting so much content this last week and a half and more I don't know how much I can take. This is too much food stop stop I can't take it we haven't even carved the turkey and I'm already getting full oh but it's so good I want some more...nom nom nom nom nom. Oh God and another Mandalorian episode the next day god I don't know what to expect more cutesy baby Yoda goodness Oh I could barely get through the last episode after the little guy was crying OHHHHH I can't take it!!!!!
