Nice job Bob... Loved subs since I was a kid.. What keeps you interested with the longevity of one sub - I'm afraid I'd spend hundreds of hours and lots of money only to get a little bored after I'd finished and got it going. Or is it like your favourite model is your next one?

There is always a bit of tweaking, a new feature, or additional functions you can add to your boat to keep it fresh. If you stick with the same scale, you can transfer your watertight cylinder between boats, which means your investment in a new one is likely about 1/3 that of your first boat.

Love boats I'm wondering with all the 3-D printing globally if anyone has built a boat based on actual submarine buoyancy. Distribution tanks and the valving/pumping required to achieve a true submarine able to submerge and surface without forward momentum?

Nearly all the boats I build are like this. I made a comment to that point during the summary at the end of the video. Simply add the gas ballast backup, ballast a bit lower, and you'll have a true static-diver. Other sub ballast systems include pressure pump system like OTW uses and piston tanks such as the ones used in Engel boats.
