  • This is the buildup of a Ray Mason Nautilus hull. Overall length is around 51" and it is powered by a custom OTW 3.5" Dive Module. Join me as I walk through the buildup of the model and show some of the final trimming in my pool prior to getting shipped out to the new owner!

Awesome submarine! Looks amazing! Just wondering how the pump system works, how does air get into the tank again when surfacing without any gas tube or tubes going up to the surface? Or does it create a vaccuum?

You are correct (partially). This ballast system uses a pump to force water into a sealed ballast tank, creating higher pressure in the cylinder. It is a completely sealed system.

RCSubGuy Ah, so the amount of air is still there, it just gets compressed? Doesn't the air leak out through the pump somehow if so? Sounds very interesting for sure =D I'm new to submarines, but I'd like to build one later on this year if possible, but I need a lot of inspiration first =D

Great model, is it possible to get the Nautilus divers model figures, as depicted in the movie.

Impressive, to say the least, kudos.
What is the "flickering" light in the wheelhouse, starts at approx. 15:28 ? A bug or a feature ? :)

Bob, Do you have somewhere on line I could find a listing and price list of your available collection? I am looking for a display model of the Disney Version of the JV Nautilus. Approx. 36-40" w/ lights and interior plus motorized slow-turning prop. No RC or sub-mercibels are needed. In kit form if possible. I would like to assemble it myself.
