Nemo apparently learned quite late in constructing the Nautilus that his dive planes wouldn't work, and spent days in a funk convinced he was a failure. With things in Vulcania looking quite dismal, the crew rallied around and searched for a solution. They hit on the idea, which they pitched to Nemo, of of a steerable propeller. Nemo was skeptical, but was soon convinced that it solved the pitch problem. He never admitted it though, but made sure to treat the boys to a feast, featuring sautee of unborn octopus as an appetizer, and filet of sea snake as a main. And thus..history!!
The propeler's pitch control is realy nice. By the way, do you remember your first submarine project? Would be interesting to hear about that from an advanced modeler.
I very much do remember my first project, a scratch built Disney Nautilus. I still have information on that build and many others on my website at www.rc-sub.com
absolutely! If you check my site at www.rc-sub.com or my channel here on youtube, you'll see quite a few of my past projects, including some ww2 boats.
I added "invisible" bow thrusters to my 60" Nautilus; works extremely well ! !
I love it. Very quiet. I LOVED that movie. Kirk DOuglas was excellent. And I LOVED the book.
I'm currently reading the book and it's amaxing.
Seems unbelievable but there it is~!! Enjoyed the presentation. Thanks.
