"You eat pieces of shit for breakfast?" One of the best comebacks in movie history. Also, Fun Fact: Bob Barker's only request when asked to be in the film was that he won the fight, so they had to do a quick rewrite to let him win.
Fun fact - the actor who played Shooter didn't want the role initially because he did not want to be typecast. They convinced him by letting him play golf, he's a passionate player and all the amazing Shooter puts are real, by the actor.
Longer than that, his hits routinely went over $100 million at the domestic box office through the 2000s. And his Netflix deal makes him the highest paid actor in Hollywood history on a per film basis.
Here's a cool story that just happened this year. A kid on the bird app with the legal name Happy Gilmore just announced that he is going to play golf at Ball State. Both Adam Sandler and Shooter quote-tweeted it and Sandler wished him good luck. He also said in his post that yes, he can do the Happy Gilmore shot.
I don't think he minds too much lol. He actually likes playing golf in real life, and apparently he's never paid for a round of golf since doing this film. At this point, he basically is a golf legend! I mean, when Shooter McGavin himself turns up at your course, you let the man play!
Christopher MacDonald has playing a comedy bully character down to such an exact science that he's always a joy to watch, even in lesser productions like Lemonade Mouth.
If this is genuinely the first time you've watched this movie, i'm so delighted you geo to experience it. I've probably seen it 50 times but watching your reaction made me feel like I was watching it for the first time too.
I remember watching this as a kid and clutching my stomach from laughing so hard when they had the extended scene of Happy cussing up a storm when the ball wouldn't go in the hole. It's so good. This movie is absolutely ridiculous and I love Adam Sandler for never adhering to reality.
I've watched this movie so many times as a kid and I will continue to watch as many times as I can stand it. It's my favorite Adam Sandler film and I love it so much
Fun fact: The IRS agent Happy beats up is played by Robert Smigel aka the voice/puppeteer of Triumph the Insult Comedy Dog. Edit: Another fun fact Virginia Venit is played by Julie Bowen aka Claire Dunphy from Modern Family and Happy's former boss is played by Richard Kiel aka Jaws from the James Bond Franchise.
Growing up in the 90s this movie was everything to my best friend and I. I remember seeing it in the theater and being the only 2 people laughing our rear ends off at just how random so much stuff was. Great times...

This is back when Adam Sandler had very anger fuelled, bipolar comedy. Things started to change with The Wedding Singer. But here, he’s still very much a 13 year old boy in a man’s body with anger management problems. How ironic.
And can you blame him? I don't think anyone does yelling as hilariously as Adam Sandler does. I love the scene in Billy Madison where he has the one kid talking to the teacher on the phone, and after the kid hangs up Billy yells " you blew it " and it never fails to make me burst in hysterics
When I was a kid I taped this off a TV broadcast of it, so every time I watched it, it was "Edited for Television." When Chubbs said "Spoken like a true asshole" the edited version had him say "Spoken like a true airhead," and everytime I watch the real version of this movie, the "Asshole" takes me by surprise. (And, yes, I know that's worded weird.)
Being a Canadian and loving hockey (cause if there’s one Canadian stereotype that’s true it’s that we love hockey lol) even though it’s a golf movie, I still almost consider it a hockey movie, our teams would watch this on long bus rides to games, this and/or Slapshot
There is a deleted scene where Happy actually punches Ben Stiller's character in the face after he sees what's happening in the retirement home. The guy who played as Mr. Larson (dude with nail in his head), is the same dude who played as Jaws in James Bond (he unfortunately passed away not to long ago).
Bob Barker yep he is still going. He probably could still host the price is right at 99. He was a avid golfer as well. In fact every time they played hole in one He would always do a inspirational putt. 95 percent of the time he made it. He would tell the contestant nice and easy. So good reference to that game. Adam Sandler even made a surprise appearance on the price is right thanking Bob Barker. He wrote a poem saying Bob Barker kicked my butt
This used to be my husband's and mine's fav Adam Sandler movie. It's still so good though and yes, the "You eat pieces of sh-t for breakfast?" and the... "... NO" response was always our favorite part.
I loved Shooter McGavin as a character, he's one of my all time favourite villains next to Biff Tannen from Back to the Future. Happy Gilmore is a guilty pleasure movie for me, I've watched it probably 100 times easily.
By the way, this is the same Chubbs that teaches Mambo lessons to the angels in Little Nicky. Gotta love the "Sandlerverse." Remember guys, It's all in the hips!!

“You can trouble me for a warm glass of shut the hell up.”
One of Adam Sandlers best movies😂
Every parent who grew up with this film say to their own kids, "Now you will go to sleep, or I will put you to sleep!"😂
The giant guy who played Happy's boss also played a villain named Jaws in James Bond. He was the big guy with metal teeth.
He was also originally cast as the Hulk before Lou Ferigno.
He was Also in the Original Longest Yard Movie with Burt Reynolds
Him in Cannonball Run 2 teamed up with Jackie Chan is my personal favorite appearance of his.
Bob Barker was trained in boxing and did his own stunts for the scene. Legend!
Legend
Bob used to train with Chuck Norris believe it or not.
I also heard that Bob Barker is a 3 times golden glove winner
And that he forced his co-host to have sex with him, causing her to have stress related ulcer, he's a p-o-s.
"You eat pieces of shit for breakfast?" One of the best comebacks in movie history.
Also, Fun Fact: Bob Barker's only request when asked to be in the film was that he won the fight, so they had to do a quick rewrite to let him win.
NO 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
glad they rewrote that.
That line taught me to think of a comeback before you say it. Besides, it looked like Shooter mastered the shit eating grin.
The awkward "No..." by Shooter is what makes it. lol
Bob winning the fight against someone a third his age is what made it so funny.
If you remember your “Little Nicky” reaction, Chubs cameos in heaven when Nicky meets his mom. “It’s all in the hips.” 😂
