OMG I couldn't contain it. It was SOOOOO funny.
I was lucky enough to attend a taping with a friend of The Price Is Right while Bob Barker was still hosting in the early 2000s. During commercial breaks he'd engage with the audience and tell jokes and whatnot. Anyway, during one of the breaks, the audience was trying to goad him into saying "that line" from Happy Gilmore. He hemmed and hawed and dragged it out, saying "now look, this is a family-friendly show and I'm going to check with my producer first to see if it's all right. If he says I can say the line then I will. But if he says I'm NOT allowed to say it..." The audience noise level went up, trying to persuade the producer to let him say the line. Finally, Bob turns to his producer and literally asks the question like this: "These fine people want to know if I can say 'the price is right, BITCH'!!" Instant eruption from the audience. XD
Man, Bob is a legend.

@Kevin Garnica Bob is from Springfield, MO, where I've lived most of my life. He's a true legend here, too. He's donated tons of money to the college he had attended (Drury) & to animals welfare organizations & shelters. He is the sole reason our local Humane Society finally became a no-kill shelter. He, and another Springfieldian, Brad Pitt have done a lot of good for their home town.
Haven't seen an uncontrollable laugh attack in a while.
Worth it.

I have probably seen this movie a thousand times and I don't know that I've ever seen someone laugh so hard at anything as you did when he was freaking out and they were bleeping him out. I found myself cackling like a goddamned bastard even though I've seen it a million times. Good stuff.

The guy running the golf tour is the director of the movie, Dennis Dugan. He worked a lot with this 90’s generation comic actors and he and Sandler hit big success with Big Daddy.
Anything from this crew at the time; Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Chris Farley, Norm MacDonald, was good comedy years. After Sandler made real money with Big Daddy, he started producing movies for his friends and they are closer to this-era Sandler movies than Sandler is now. Here’s some of the gems from this group.

The giant guy with the nail in his head was a famous James Bond villain named Jaws (he had metal teeth) way way back. At the time, as a Bond fan kid, it was amazing to see him in this movie but sad to see his health problems were obvious, in the film. Being giant is hard on the body.
The guy playing the IRS agent taking the house is Robert Smigel. Maybe Top 3 Saturday Night Live writer ever. He is also Triumph The Insult Comic (he’s the puppeteer/writer). You see him in tonnes of SNL movies, especially Sandler’s.
The scruffy homeless caddy is Sandler’s best friend Allen Covert from way back. He has three best friends that appear in every comedy of his. Believe it or not, but that homeless looking caddy has written a few movies. His feature is Grandma’s Boy, produced by Sandler but he makes no appearance.
This was the most joyful reaction I've ever seen. Next time I need something to lift my spirits, I'm watching this! You can't help but laugh along when someone is laughing so hard. Been enjoying your reactions! Thanks for sharing 😊

One of my favorite jokes that most people miss is when Happy said that one of his junior hockey records is the most time spent in the penalty box.
I know many kids in hockey that would come close to that record
For that famous fight scene with Bob Barker, naturally they tried to be extra-careful with the guy. But, as it turned out, BB has been a keen martial artist for most of his life and the rolling down the hill part was the most use they got out of his stunt double. The rest was pretty much all Bob.

Uncut Gem for example should have landed him an Oscar.
Absolute classic comedy. One of the funniest films at the time it was released, in my opinion.

Adam Sandler films always made me laugh when I was younger because I liked the child-like antics of his characters. Today, I can still watch these films because they allow me to remember a time that was less crazy and when I still had a funny bone in my body. I still enjoy watching this film and it always makes me laugh.
When that Bob Barker fight scene came on you and I both were laughing at the same time. It was even funnier to me because Bob looks like my dad. 😆
I had to watch the whole reaction just to make sure you didn't have a heart attack!!! lol Another good comedy that came out at the same time is Down Periscope with Kelsey Grammer of Cheers and Frasier fame. Actually saw both back to back with my mom back in the day when they were first in theatres; we both laughed our asses off.

Christopher McDonald (Shooter) told a story about how director Dennis Dugan (who also plays the tour president) gave him seven chances to make his last putt. He had two hit the lip of the hole, and then hit it on his fifth chance. He improvised his response when he made it.

Bob Barker fight was pure classic cinema!
Christopher McDonald who plays shooter has talked about this was his favorite shoot ever. "You mean you are going to pay me to play golf, give me pro lessons all summer and play a asshole." "Sign me up." He says to this day he still gets free golf almost anywhere he plays. Because everyone wants to play a round with Shooter.
And the long put at the end Shooter made. That was all him. "That's my proudest golf moment because it was real and caught on film."

The price is right bit cracks me up everytime
This was my first real introduction to Adam. I had seen Conheads a million times, but he just had that one scene. My mom worked at a 2 screen movie theatre when this came out and I watched a lot of movies I don't think I would have without that. I mean, a movie about golf? But I'm glad I that forced me to watch movies I might not have otherwise.

I remember Adam Sandler from the Cosby show. That was the first thing I ever saw him in, & I moved to Hattiesburg for college where I saw this at the theater in the mall. Loved his early films. You should add "Waterboy, & 50 First Dates".

I used to listen to his comedy tape when no one else was. This did do well at the box, but I new when I saw it on VHS (along with Billy Madison) a Coconuts, I had to buy them. I got so many of my buddies together to watch them, we forgot half the movie due to laughter! So, of coarse my tapes popped from being passed around so much. Also, this was a good come-back movie for Carl Weather.

The mini golf courses in Disney World are kind of like the one in this movie as far as moving hazards and elaborate mechanics, especially WinterSummerland which is two courses: one for winter and one for summer. It's all Christmas themed, and the winter side is like the North Pole with hazards made of (fiberglass ofc 😝) snow and ice, and the summer side is Santa and the elves on vacation at the beach with sand castles, sea shells, etc. Their other course is called Fantasia Gardens and is all themed after - of course - Fantasia. Totally worth checking out if you ever get the chance!

I actually wanted to suggest a movie but like I said never expected u to reply. I know you like Tom Hanks and I thought u might like one of his comedic roles from the beginning of his career it's called The Money Pit and it's about a couple who buy a to their first home together. It's very funny and I think u might like it. There is also one that's more serious and directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Stephen King it's called The Green Mile it's a beautiful movie.

Thank you for the reaction. The first time I saw Happy Gilmore was in a practically empty red eye flight from Phoenix to Chicago, I think around 1999. I laughed so hard. I must have been heard the length of the plane.

This movie came out just as Tiger Woods turned golf mainstream, so this move was especially funny at the time. Favorite line...."who won that fight by the way?.... I hate that Bob Barker".
