Id just do extractions out of the shower or steamer when theyre ready... sometimes the patches trap the gunk in there and like the other person said can create cysts or for the skin to heal over with all of the gross stuff in there. Just becareful with extractions and dont over do it. Look up a video on how estheticians do it. Salycilic acid toner with steam helps loosen up everything so you can pop it. Dont pop pimples when they are not ready and come to a head with the white popping out of the pore. Then put benzoyl peroxide cream on top to keep it clean.
Deadass, popping a pimple for me is way better than pimple patches, they tend to make holes in my face … whenever I pop a pimple, I actually don’t get a scar from it and if I do, at least it’s not freaking holes on my skin …
It drives me insane. Sometimes I’ll get red marks on my face when the pimple goes away and on my back, the marks will end up dark. 😭 Does this product help with both?
I am just really prone to hyperpigmentation. Nothing i do prevents PIH to happen. So i started using tretinoin for both acne prevention and hyperpigmentation treatment. And also %20 azelaic acid
@@sarah37452 well it's been only three months so it's too soon to speak but i have already gotten nice results regarding pore size, new acne marks and overall skin texture. And the only purging i am going through is excessive sebum production and irritation under my eyebrows and nothing else. My skin is originally very oily btw. I make sure i moisturise my skin well with fragrance-free products. I hope this helps!
Those acne patches help if the acne has a head but does not work for cycstic acnes :( when my acnes are active, red, I use cosrx cica complex spot cream bcs it helps calming dowm inflammation and hopefully reduce post inflamatory hyper pigmentation.
I struggled with cycstic acne for yeaaars. An over the counter product that helped me so much is the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo cream. Just a little dot at night patted onto active cystic acne helps it go down a lot in just ~2 days (depending on your skin). Although, I have noticed if I put it on a white head or clear skin it does make me break out, as it’s probably just a strong active ingredient. Paired with their effaclar gel face wash its just amazing. Another thing that has helped me immensely is using medication with Apostrophe online. They’re like curology, but I feel they’re so much better (and cheaper overall) as I’ve tried both. Best wishes to you friend!
I never got hyperpigmentation from pimples, for some reason this huge pimple on my cheek wouldn't go away so I tried a hydrocolloid patch on it, it went away but the patch for some reason left a really dark patch of hyperpigmentation I've never experienced before. It's been 3 months and it still hasn't gone away, and I used sunscreen religiously every day.

Now I understand why I don't get acne scarring. I don't really have much pigment. Tried to tan my legs one camping trip. No sunscreen and they didn't even burn, unless you count my eyes when I tried to look at them.
i’m extremely prone to scarring and hyperpigmentation but pimple patches do nothing for me because most of my breakouts are deep, cystic blind pimples. they hang around forever and nothing helps to surface them. ughhhhh
I find Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser works best as a spot treatment so it only dries out the pimple. It used to always make me break out and get super red dry skin if I used it on any other areas of my face.
I was saying the same thing. It was said so fast I got lost. Maybe if there were a few products mention that I was familiar with, but there were several that I was like huh. I really would like a description link or something for the names listed. ❤
I was excited to use pimple patches, but they make my hyperpigmentation worse. They leave a hole after taking them off that results in a bigger dark spot. Very gently popping a pimple when it is very white (shouldn’t use pressure really), and then applying benzoyl peroxide 10% gel makes it heal faster and less likely to leave a dark spot, or a much less noticeable dark spot.
Many many years ago, my daughter broke out after being in the hospital and she had clear skin so I'm thinking she picked up some kind of bacteria there. She didn't feel like going to a dermatologist so I bought her Differin. I have to say that for an OTC product, it worked well.
