Ok, when metal privacy screens was mentioned I turned off but guess what? I really do like them after all.... This is why I love this channel... Shows me ways to landscape in a more beautiful way.
Thanks again CG G! We just used a few of the metal screens to block an A/C unit area. Quick and easy with the idea of vines to grow up and around them. By season's end perhaps it won't look so invasive.
Really good ideas! My problem is neighbors who have cameras that are pointed right to our backyard. Also, the wall between us is only 6 ft tall. We are no longer speaking to them due to something that occurred a year ago. Also, they are now pointing bright spotlights directly into our yard and 2 bedroom windows. So we can definitely use some of these designs!
Same here I seen a blue flash from top floor. And three neighbors have line of sight in the backyard. Family hasn’t enjoyed backyard in 20 years. This video helped a lot
I just went through my backyard last week and made notes of where i need privacy in different seating areas as 4 new houses are being completed next door. Just brainstorming a mix of different approaches in areas so i don't have just a wall of arbs down a half acre lot lol. I am stealing these great ideas! Lol also considering the use of slight birms or tiers to plant on in areas, a cute small garden shed to house my yard equipment, and strategic foreground and background planting around some seating areas. This video couldn't have come at a better time! Thanks for sharing! ❤
Hi Tricia, thank you SO much for this comment! I LOVE the fact that u got out there to identify those problem areas. I love the idea of the shed and maybe it can be used to help screen. Thanks again for watching and taking the time to help the community with a beautiful comment. Have the best weekend!
These spaces look great! I just finished an outdoor kitchen and it’s outside of the pergola and we need privacy as well. Neighbors on each side and two story looking down on area with the kitchen. I need help with some design long distance New Orleans. Love what you’ve do!

This is a two year old video and I wanted to share that i find your tone, pace amd background music is way better to digest. You speak slower, the demo clips are longer and it’s just less jarring to the senses. Don’t get me wrong, all of your content is fabulous and inspiring but much prefer the slowed down version as it feels like the information has a chance to really penetrate beyond the zippy hyper buzz of your newer videos.
Thanks for the forecast! I need some advice: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
I love seeing all of your solutions for privacy as we are looking into doing this exact thing. I am interested in planting some large trees. Is there a rule of thumb as how close to the fence line, or a consideration of how many leaves may end up in your neighbors yard? Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! J~
Hi Janine, thank u for this comment. Yes, each plant or tree has a recommended spacing between each other when u plant. Check with whoever u purchased the plants from and they will know that distance. Thanks again
Alot of really cool ideas, I'm a huge fan of the living wall ideas. My issue is the angles as to neighbors road etc. How can I get possibly some help? Or at least a push in the right direction ? Thank you in advance
Great video, thanks for the inspiration. Do you know if you need to follow the set-back rules for these privacy screens? I see rules for boundary line fences and retaining walls in my local code and set-backs for structures but nothing specifically for these “architectural privacy screens”. I want to do something in my small backyard but due to the size I would love to put these as close to the boundary line as possible. Thanks!
Every area is different. In my market there is no set back requirements for those screens. I would check with you local permit office to see. Thanks for the support ❤
Great info! Well done! Can you share the process for working to create a design for clients-long distance? We have the manpower to implement but I’m not sure about what to do. 🙂

I love these ideas I am overlooked on the left side of my garden as the road bends round by about 4 houses really irritates me.im just worried someone will moan if I put up a privacy screen or trees to block them out 🤦🏽♀️😕
I have neighbors who like to throw loud parties during corona virus and pee on the fence we share. They're homeowners too. They take no pride in homeownership. Now i'm searching for Laurel hedges and bamboo to try to block them out.
Smart Ideas to block the insanity - sorry you have to put up with their choice of lifestyle. We have comments from our channel watchers indicating Neighbors have rights too . . . yes, they do but at times they infringe behavior on connecting neighbors R&R.
We have a bit of a unique situation in our home we moved into a couple months ago. we have a wide and narrow backyard. The neighbors behind us are across the street, higher on slope and the front of their home looks down on our back yard. Thinking a lean to might work in one section but the orientation would be full Sun that I’m not sure it would be used much. We have a covered patio too and looking to make it as private as possible. How do I contact you for some consulting?
Hi KL, I would love to help u with your unique situation. Here is the link 3d design www.backyardlivingguyde.com/3d-design-process . I really like a lot of these ideas. I have a fairly large back yard (about 1/3 acre lot) but I’m on a corner and there’s a house that’s elevated on a hill behind me. Plus my yard slopes up from the side-running street so the neighbor across the street can see in even though I do have a privacy fence. Im really interested in some hedging that would grow very high especially along the street side and the back. I’ve started researching bamboo and there are sooo many varieties it’s a little overwhelming. Is it possible to get assistance even though I’m in NC?

Gorgeous ideas but way beyond the budget of the average person. As a DIYer (with basic self-taught skills) most of these ideas are huge and expensive projects custom designed for big yards. As a result, most of these ideas are irrelevant. Thanks but no thanks.
I agree...I guess it is meant for entertainment. People who can afford these backyards most likely is not looking on RUclips for ideas or designers. Generally if you have an unlimited budget it's not a challenge to figure out how to solve any problem.
Hi L Medina & Thomasean - Let's see - In many of our videos there are elements you could grab for smaller space yards. Take the property here: paradiserestored.com/portfolio_item/peterson-property/ - they put a dry creek bed in, then added a small bubbler feature as the water element, a trellis over some boulder steps near raised garden beds. They used their existing under-deck as a cover and added décor pieces. In this next property: paradiserestored.com/portfolio_item/modern-home-landscaping/ you could create a concrete firepit with a pergola cover and complete it in stages. Like more of a garden look? paradiserestored.com/portfolio_item/minimalist-garden/ - These features are doable in small spaces - the fireplace wall may not be in some peoples' price range, but the other elements would work well. In this backyard we stuffed quite a bit in while creating small destination spots along the long bench. It's actually super cool and the view bar & stairs is a favorite. www.paradiserestored.com/portfolio_item/small-space-landscaping/ In the 10 secrets video - choose your favorite: #1) DESTINATIONS #2) Covered structure #3) Privacy #4) Water features #5) Fire Features #6 Adding a Bar #7 Garden Spaces 8) Built in seating #9) Focal Feature #10) Sunken Areas Then decide if you want them in your space.
