I love this channel. Please do a show on small rental backyards using things you can remove with ease once your lease it up and you decide to move. Thank you.
Please DO NOT use bamboo unless you live on 5 or 10 acres because it is very invasive and you might be sued when it pushes the neighbor’s fence over and overtakes their yard despite all attempts to contain it!
You are so easy to listen too, you have motivated us & given us tons of ideas. Thank you …I look forward to watching more videos. We are in Canada. Not sure where you are but is it possible to get a video to you of our yard & pay for your ideas on how to put things together?
This video has so many great ideas! I've been struggling with my dog digging up my flower beds. When you mentioned gravel I realized that would be a win/win for my flower beds and walk areas! Thanks so much!
Check your local ordinances before planting bamboo straight into the ground. Some places require concrete borders so it does not spread as bamboo is extremely invasive.
We just bought a house and the bamboo has overgrown to the sidewalk near the water pipes. The previous owners didn’t check and it’s going to cost us $2500 to completely try remove it before we put in a fence. So your advice is truly spot on!
All these folks have beautiful backyards. Can you do some ideas for someone in the city (like me) my patio is literally 50 square ft. It is concrete floor with cinderblock 6' fence on three sides. It is a perfect 50 square foot square? I enjoy your videos.
@@BackyardDesignGuy That would be great. I can send you pictures. It literally is a blank slate. all dark grey. It was a complete renovation so there is nothing except an indoor outdoor shelf unit that I had in a closet in my old condo......that I can get rid of. I am in Phlly.
I know. It seems the modern world needs it super fast. I do have some slower pasted videos on the same subject . Please consider checking them out. Thank u for your comment and support 🙏
Nice ideas. I’m excited to tear out my rotting 400 foot deck and replace it with same size concrete or concrete pavers and small cover. I’m not very talented in building things, but will have to figure it out and do it myself. My budget is $500.00 max, that may be a stretch. How much does things in your video cost?

Hello, thank you for sharing numerous fantastic ideas. As an architect and rendering expert, I'm well-versed in drafting and rendering. If you require any assistance in these areas, please feel free to reach out. Appreciate it!
I already had a designer, but I am also thinking of using you so I don't go with whatever is presented to me. Two minds are better. What will be the "hourly cost" or project cost for a 10X20 outdoor 4-season enclosed space? I live in the PNW and many ideas seem to be better suited for a warmer climate.. I have some videos and some photos
Hi Nathaniel, we are based in Portland Oregon so I am probably very close to u. Feel free to email me and we can have a quick chat about your project micah@paradiserestored.com
Just abandon these ideas, to design the garden like an outdoor living room! It's a space for fresh air and nature, at night to watch the stars. Candles, torches, lanterns, a beamer to project a movie: That's good for parties a few times a year, can be easily moved away afterwards. Keep your good old garden chairs, BBQ, large party tent and avoid building fixed structures instead. No way to change them afterwards, except demolish and build again.
"10 best landcaping (budget) ideas" "Number 6, have someone literally plan out your design using 3D cam software... for your budget build" That's like saying "fix your car for cheap" and following with "step 1, buy a new one"...
While the total 3D design might be expensive to start off with, it is much cheaper than having to rip out what you built in step 1 because you forgot to plan for the utilities needed in step 2. Most DIY people don't know everything it takes to design and build a whole backyard and will tackle things in steps. When step 1 is the overall design, step 2 will be running the needed utilities like power, water, speaker wire, low voltage lighting, irrigation, drainage and correct slope of the yard. If your step 1 was pouring concrete and building a covered patio connected to the house and step 2 is building a firepit area further out in the yard then you won't be able to run power, water, lighting or sound out to the firepit area without busting up the concrete. In your car example, it would be more like step 1 paint the car, step 2 fix the rust.
the whole concept of movie nights, the speakers, the lights...is very good -smashing idea... if you do not have house close by and around your property....I think that is very selfish to have constant parties, noise, gatherings of any kind and submit the other people around to that...what about the peace and quite that the other people enjoy...that is intrusion of their space and that is classified as a nuisance...
I do wish that everyone “selling the idea” of having a fire pit in the backyard would also mention the laws regarding outdoor fire! Especially in the city!! People think that just because they sell it in the stores then it’s ok. But no! Safety rules should always be mentioned!! Or else you might find yourself with a fine $ or worse…
The laws regarding what is allowed for firepits or open fires differs vastly from city to city and even more from state to state and even differ in the same city depending on what time of year it is. It is impossible for someone to mention the laws regarding outdoor fire. I literally have no restrictions where I live. It is the responsibility of the person buying/building the firepit to know and follow the laws of their area, same as it is their responsibility to get a building permit and follow local building codes for their project.
This video has so many great ideas! I've been struggling with my dog digging up my flower beds. When you mentioned gravel I realized that would be a win/win for my flower beds and walk areas! Thanks so much!

Please DO NOT use bamboo unless you live on 5 or 10 acres because it is very invasive and you might be sued when it pushes the neighbor’s fence over and overtakes their yard despite all attempts to contain it!
Or learn the tricks to contain it like using Bamboo Sheild under the ground surrounding your plants.
And also there is different kinds of bamboo. Clumping bamboo won’t spread.
If you live on 5 or 10 acres you probably don't need bamboo for privacy
Get out of here Karen
