One thing you mentioned at the end of the video was about working and getting hot. As a home gardener, for the sake of your plants and yourself, never plant in the heat of the day. Early mornings or early evenings keep both you and your plants safe and happy. That's also the best time to water your plants. Great video! And happy planting!
@Katee Such a great point!!! To all those in the community… I’d say the best time to plant is in the fall but if not then the spring. Planting in the summer is definitely a difficult task.
Hi Tori. I'm so glad I saw this message because I'm about to do a design by a pool using this "point perspective" design technique and wasn't going to record my screen. I will make sure to do so. Also, if you haven't subscribed please do. I will have new videos starting Feb 15th, 2022 that will have the entire process from design to finished product coming out and they are going to be awesome! Happy holidays!
Landscaping is harder than it looks. I can't do much of it anymore and have to ask my kids to help or hire the work out. I had my son help plant last year and he hated it, he mentioned yesterday how he never realized how hard it was to dig a several small holes. Regardless of how much he hates yard work he helped dig 8 more holes this year, he is a good son😊
@M A Your son sounds awesome! I love to hear that he helped you. Yes, landscaping is NO JOKE! I'm very fortunate to be out of the field now designing and general contracting projects. Hard work! Thank you for the comment!
@@lurklingX It was like that at my last two homes, you needed a pick axe. Thank God 100+ years of leaf shedding gave this new place some soil over the rocks.
Lol 😂 sounds like a good son! 👏🏾👏🏾 My husband & I are in our 60’s and it’s overwhelming to handle yard work, like when we were younger. Landscapers today do the bare minimal and charge a fortune. So our kids help us, with the strenuous work. Thank God for them! 😊❤️
When it comes to trees, I’d recommend confirming your foundation wall isn’t having issues of planting within branch a few feet. Roots can contribute to weakened cmu and which once weakened enough will cause water intrusion. Might not seem like an issue the first few years but later down the line, when the trees are branching against the home, you’ll know the roots are digging the same amount. Just a reminder
Our landscaping is being worked on right now. I'm a wreck making decisions. I don't want to make any mistakes so I am listening to your videos and I'm trying to follow your advise. Thanks for being an inspiration to all of us.
@Madonna Hagedorn It will be OK. Just realize that it’s a journey and if things go a little sideways they’re always fixable. Continue to watch and pick up tips.🤛🏻
This video is great! We did some of the same things with our boring builder grade home that we bought two years ago. We had three large trees spaded into the front late last summer. We dug out all of the bare rock that was the landscaping and have replaced it with mulch beds and added foundation shrubs and plants. I do want to add that if you are redoing along the foundation area, to make sure you are grading it away from the walls.
This was an amazing transformation. Alot of landscape designers overplant in my opinion, and 3 yrs later ur taking out a third of the plants bc they have grown so much and it looks like a jungle. Beautiful job !!!!
Vincent!!! Thank you so much! I like to space things out knowing that in 3 years it will be a bit different. Thank you for the comment and make sure you check out some other videos as I have lots of styles and upcoming content that has a similar vibe. :)
Your work is inspirational Bobby! Back in 2004 a Canadian magazine called MoneySense had an article for homeowners investing in landscaping, particularly when selling. A Laval University found that quality landscaping increased the value of a typical bungalow in a middle-class neighborhood by up to 15%. According to the study, a tree boosts your home's resale value by up to 9%. It cited a "general rule" to recoup your investment when you resell your home, and restrict your landscaping budget to no more than 4% of your residence's value. This % would change if you are in a high-end neighbourhood. I'm a new sub!
Muktha! What an amazing comment this is! I can make an entire video just off your comment. Those are amazing statistics that I definitely wanna share with my audience. Thank you!👍🏼
This yard looks amazing now. Hopefully the owners can maintain it. My daughter bought a home built in the 1950s late last summer and the yard definitely needs to be refreshed. It's not " nasty ", but has been neglected. The previous owner loved to garden and in fact had a greenhouse in the backyard. When the previous owner died, his sons did not have the time to maintain all the shrubs, trees and flowers he had planted and although they paid someone to mow the grass, everything else was left to grow wild. Right now my goal is to get it to " boring " for just my time and labor. I have been pruning hydrangea bushes, hibiscus plants, removing old overgrown azaleas and finding all kinds of bulbs while digging out too many Rose of Sharon saplings. My advice to DIYers .... keep it simple enough to maintain yourself or simple enough to be affordable to pay someone to maintain it.
Rose of Sharon sapplings make great hedges and privacy screens, btw! I wish I had some of those sapplings. Maybe one day my 5 rose of Sharon’s will put out sapplings!
@@lauratruthseekingWarrior I remember when I was first starting out where we cut grass and maintain several yards. There was this one client that had a beautiful hedge of rose of Sharon along the back of her fence. Every spring it would flower and look absolutely gorgeous! I agree and I think that it is one of those overlooked opportunities in designing. I’m glad you said something as I have a design coming up and I know that I can incorporate rose of Sharon! Thank you for the great tip and please keep comments coming! It’s so fun to hear from you guys and I’m really enjoying the ride! Talk to you soon!❤️🤛🏻😃
@Ginger Davis - completely agree! We moved into our home on 2 acres last year and are so overwhelmed (our previous home was on about 1/3 of an acre and even that we didn't know what to do with...) A lot of the land is wooded, but a lot is overgrown and really just ugly. Sounds like a similar situation where the previous (original) homeowners weren't able to maintain it as they grew older. So now like you said we're just trying to get to a blank slate so we can figure out what to do. And for us I know that the lower-maintenance (relatively speaking) the better. Good luck to your daughter in her new home!!
@@marissacal29 Thank you. Good luck to you as well. In mid March beautiful daffodils and hyacinths appeared and my 5 year old grandson gave me the credit for planting them. Now Iris ,azaleas and a gorgeous snowball bush are about to bloom and he will think l planted them too.
For the savings of 5 to 6 K, I totally do it myself. This is not a project that would require big machinery or special skill. I, however, would pay for the design because many people don’t know how to make it look just right. Thank you, this should be an inspiration for all and realized there are no excuses to beautify one space and as an added bonus, our communities.
Thank you Mary! I think you are REALLY going to enjoy what I have coming up. Lots and lots of projects (Before/After) that you don’t have to be rich to afford! Stay tuned!!!😀
Cherry trees are gorgeous and put on a show in early Spring. I have a 15 y/o Yoshino cherry that gets lots of photos taken by passers by every year. But choose them wisely, as these trees are not too tall but can be wide. Give them plenty of space to grow and don’t plant them too close to the house.
Very good info. I like separating the pedestrian walkway away from the driveway to provide more space. Oftentimes driveways are blocked by a parked car and walking around the car ends up stepping on turf
@Harry Yuen Great point! We always need to think about getting out of our cars when planning the landscaping along a driveway. Thank you for the comment!!!! :)
We just bought an ex rental. It’s as boring as I’ve ever seen a big house and garden look. I haven’t taken official possession of the property yet but have already been researching plants and thinking of some design ideas. We have driveways and gates to put in first but I can’t wait to get my hands dirty. I’m in my 60’s and have always designed and built my own yards and home interiors. My first house I had no choice, I was a single mum, 23 years old and broke. I did it and decided never to pay anyone else for something I am capable of doing myself, and I can have exactly what I like. My new one will be a challenge, it’s my biggest home frontage and I love this design you have created, very inspirational and not a budget breaker. Thank you.
Sylvia! Love your name btw! Beautiful! Thank you so much for the share. I bought my first house at 23 years old and come from a similar mindset. I will say as I have gotten older it is nice to have the option whether to do it yourself or pay someone. Hats off to you working hard and getting what you want! Take care and stick around for some upcoming videos! Lots of great stuff happening! :)
Cherry trees bloom for a couple weeks if you are in the right zone. Those hydrangeas have some epic ph levels. Cherry trees - early spring, hydrangeas late spring-summer- and it looks like some autumn ornamental grasses. I feel like this is over selling & under delivering for a client. Just feels fantastical and unrealistic- but I love the shape of the bed - the general concept of various heights, and the mailbox
That’s the tricky part about planting zones and fitting your client’s style. It might be a cool follow-up video to show another planting option. What do you think?🤔
As someone who works in the trades, (plumber) I can appreciate the hard work that other trades do that I don’t. I’m very handy, but don’t hesitate at all to hire professionals.
That kind of landscaping isn't a luxury, it's a great INVESTMENT. It's beautiful and really adds value to the house, which even look more expensive. I'm poor middle class single mom owner of a 1920 English cottage, surrounded by richer people, but at least my landscaping is making up for the indoor that's not renovated.
@@BobbyKDesigns EXACTLY, if i sell my place someday, because it's well located and looks great from the outside, people will see its potential. The opposite is true, millionnaires' houses with no landscape or poorly maintained, that's decreasing their values. (Apparently, a mature tree is worth $100 000, and cools air like 50 air conditioners!)
Dude! That was excellent!! Simple, elegant and what a difference. And this house looks like 75% of suburban America but it can be so unique with a little fluffing of the landscape.
Agreed! Also another direction to take this kind of a house in would be Japanese landscaping. Their squared off and rectangular shaped houses go with rounded, bonsai type bushes and other flora.
Also, before planting trees near your house, check how long the roots of the tree can get before. Some trees have root systems that branch out, not a tap root looking for water and can grow under your homes foundation, causing cracks!
I made three garden planters using rocks that I've found over the decades. Lay them on the ground in the shape you want then fill in space with soil. Then plant what you want and add your garden decorations.
Love this , what I was looking for. My husband or I aren’t the best when it comes to landscaping, kinda nervous about working out there, where the neighbors watch, but it’s my house and I gotta get that confidence in myself. Thank you!!!🥴🥴
I love this comment! I’m so glad that this video inspired you, and I know you’re gonna do a great job! Feel free to leave me a comment on future videos with any kind of questions that you have. I’m here to help!
Very beautiful tasteful design! I may use some of these ideas :) Re money, you can budget this type of plan over a few years. Start with planting the larger impact trees & shrubs; mulch beds, then gradually fill in with smaller shrubs & perennials. Many you can affordably start from seed or cuttings. (Sometimes blank canvases are a blessing ~ ever try removing someone else's diseased or unattractive shrubs? And dig out the roots? Then haul away & dispose the mess? It's very hard work compared to starting from scratch. Which is also hard work but much less so, from my experience. Especially if you re-plant small less expensive shrubs & trees & you're willing to be patient for 3 years for some to explode with growth & beauty. The time passes fast though & it's a great spring/summer morning when you look out the window & say Wow!! Look at that! 🌹🌿)
I bought a house in a nice gated community that hadn’t been lived in for 2 years (the owners lived in China and owned multiple empty homes and mansions across the US). I did exactly what you suggest but all by myself except having two massive oak trees removed and replaced in a new area so they wouldn’t grow into the plumbing or lift the driveway. Since I have St Augustine grass I aerated, added nitrogen and let the torrential downpours do their magic to make it spread. I put in nice solar lights, tons of black mulch with metal edging and did it pretty much all by myself since I was single. My HOA is super relaxed on grass length so I let it grow and cut it at the highest length keeping it plush and bright green. I inherited a bunch of fancy rocks from a neighbor who was updating their landscaping and thought they would match my home better than theirs which saved me over $2K had I bought them new. In addition to getting the front yard looking fabulous, I was also able to convert my entire back yard into a food forest which is filling out nicely over the past couple of years. I put in lots of no-dig gates and bird netting to protect the berries and tomatoes from being picked at. I also lined my 12 foot brick wall along the back with an espaliered orchard of apples, peaches, figs and loquats. The advice I give everyone who wants to do it themselves is to break it up into smaller tasks and take your time. Enjoy what you’re doing and don’t burn yourself out or go into debt. It took me from November of 2020 until now to get everything where it is and it happened in stages. The best part about doing it yourself is that you develop habits of maintenance and you’re mindful of how much work it will take to maintain in the future. I’m so happy this video found it’s way into my feed as it validates everything I thought I figured out and I hope more folks follow the advice you put forth. It’s so rewarding to babystep your way into a gorgeous outdoor space you can be proud of. 🤗
Good video Bobby. I just want to go on the record, saying… I think that that “bland“ house is a nice prairie style home. As you mentioned, it could use some modernization though.
Funny this plan is similar to what I did with the curved walkway and taking out a large amount of grass, because I don't want to worry about cutting it. My ex husband did the lawn and I did the the flower beds and gardens. This is a doable project, but you need a helping hand. My yard guy moved so I'm doing a lot now by myself, it's just going to take a little more time, but I got the main things out the way. If you enjoy outdoor work, then this is a project for you, if not hire someone. This gave me a few more ideas around the mailbox, as I have a ton of them when I'm working in the yard. Very nice change and the software program is the bomb!
@frenchweewee. Thank you so much for watching and the comment! It sounds like you are a hard worker and once you are done with the work I know you're going to love pulling into your driveway that much more! I hope to hear from you again on future videos! :)
Great design! And fair price. If I was a lazy person with no skills I’d definitely hire you 😉 but I love the sweat and hard work that goes into making my backyard look pretty. Tfs 💕💋

Hey Nancy! Thank you. We actually installed some of the design yesterday for the client. Turned out pretty cool and the mailbox was definitely the item that set it apart from the rest of the houses in the neighborhood.👍🏼
@@BobbyKDesigns I needed a new mailbox a few years ago, due to someone taking a ball bat to it, as well as some of my other neighbor's mailboxes. I saw some cool ones on the internet, but ended up getting one like the one you that was there before the upgrade. LOL At least it is functional. The best looking one I saw on the internet was a human sized frog holding the mailbox in the crook of his arm. He was dressed as a golfer and used a golf club with his other hand to hold his stance. I am not a golfer, but I thought it was cool anyway.
Investing in your property's exterior by adding some lush green plants to create an inviting and beautiful landscape is an investment that will pay off. It's not just about making it look better, but adding value and curb appeal too!
Great video! That’s so cool that you can show us everything on a computer image! And your so right about second guessing your DIY decision once your ass is out there in the 100 degrees summer sun digging up sod! That’s about the point my bf and I said, “ F- it! let’s just hire someone!” Lol!😂😂 We did end up finishing and I’m so glad we did because it gives me such a good feeling to walk out my front door or pull into my driveway and look at my beautiful garden beds.. it fills me with so much pride🥰
@Nola Girl. You nailed it! It's hard work but so satisfying to push through and complete yourself. I will say if you have the $ paying someone is definitely worth it though. Thank you for watching and stay tuned as I have some great videos JUST LIKE THIS ONE coming soon! Please COMMENT and let me know what you think! I'd love to hear from you again!
would be nice to see another mid century type house where you not only do the front yard that's in front of the house (as you did here ) but also the lawn area on the other side of the driveway (that's most typically a narrower strip and usually adjoins a neighbor's lot and merges w/ their lawn ).....🙂
Hi Marjorie!!! That’s a great suggestion for another video. One thing that I would suggest to separate the two lawns is to create a bed in between the two properties and landscape it. That would be a way to clearly define the space and separate the two lawns.
Yes, soften the edges of the lawn…it’s been said that nothing in nature is in perfect lines, but has curves to it. To figure out the curves of the planting bed(s) you want to add, lay out a pliable garden hose to represent the curved look you want. You can change it until you’re satisfied with the look. Doing it yourself is extremely satisfying. 🌻🌷😊 P.S. Try not to make the curves too extreme so the mowing along the bed is easier.
One of my concerns is, as people age, how easy is the projected project going to be to maintain? Thanks for the great video and the other comments were a treasure trove of information.
Thank you Jake. The install turned out just like the picture. It’s pretty powerful to create a design to share with the client before a shovel hits the ground. Expectations are set💪

Hey Robin!!! AMEN to that! I’m in this business and I don’t like digging more than I have to. The body gets old and it doesn’t work like it used to. Sometimes it’s just better to hire somebody. Thank you so much for the comment and watching. Keep a lookout as I got some really cool content coming out in the next couple of weeks that I think you’re going to enjoy!❤️
Hello, just ran across your channel and already love it. I have been in my home for 30 yrs and have always done many, many projects to my front and back yards. I love gardening. My major problem is weeds and grasses invading my beds. I have done a bed like the one you did here and i have Bermuda grasses that have invaded my yard from my nextdoor neighbor's yard. Every year, i am constantly pulling weeds from my bed. I have removed all the plants and started over at least 3 or 4 times through out the years. I just removed everything again last fall because the grassy weeds had taken over AGAIN. 😩😩😩 I'm 70 yrs old now and i need help to get rid of these invaders. I even dug a trench between the lawn and the bed, used vegetation killer in the trench, used 12 sheets of psper under the mulch and yet it still travels over and roots in the mulch. What can i do to overcome this problem. I wish i could send you pictures of how my bed looks when it is planted. It's just empty now. 😬😬😬
@fashun008. Thank you so much for your comment! I feel your pain. It sounds to me like you are well educated and doing everything you can in order to keep a beautiful natural edge at 70 years old! Congrats! My one tip would be finding a local gardener or handy man to help you once a month keep that edge neat and tidy. That Bermuda is a pain in the butt! Good luck and stay tuned! Lots of AMAZING content coming your way! :)
I like to do my own gardening and such and I can add my own sod and sprinklers. Plant plants etc. I just re did my whole front yard. I used a designer and Hardscape company, I can always tell when a homeowner does their own designs and work, it looks like all the other yards around with not much interest. I get it. It’s not cheap hiring a landscape designer and a hardscaping company but if you want your home to have the best curb appeal on the block hire the professionals. I would try to save your money and hire a landscaping designer and hardscaping company when you can afford it. I wanted to redo my front yard for 4 years. I took my time to create a file of designs and looks I liked to show my designer. My style is modern with drought tolerant plants and modern elements in the design.
@dphotos....it sounds to me like you might have a career in landscape design! You're speaking my language my friend! Thank you for watching and the insightful comment!
If you do plantings/trees next to the driveway, won’t the snow kill them after you shovel the snow onto them? Maybe there’s a way to get around that. 🤷♀️
Hi Lady! I guess it’s all relative. Anything can die for various reasons but if you don’t fling a bunch of snow on top of the tree you should be fine.👍🏼
Pay someone to put in paved walkway and do the rest on your own, DIY! I would add some plants on the way to the mailbox flower bed where the mulch is too. I would also add a nice shade tree in the middle of the lawn, like a pin oak. By the way, Great design! I’m sorry I didn’t add that. I was cleaning and finishing up dinner, dishes while watching your video. I think I’ve subscribed, if not I will. WWG1WGA
@Laura Truth Seeker I like your logic! The hardscaping is not easy...hence...HARD-Scaping. LOL! Thank you so much for the comment and I look forward to hearing from you again soon!
I recently did similar job by myself, and only cost me about less over 1600. plants all from Loews, use solar lights, no digging flower beds, save as much money as you can.
If a paver walkway isn't done right, professionally, it won't hold up and will look cheap! I don't consider this a DIY project unless you know what you're doing. Overall, this design is nice.
Bonnie B I couldn’t agree more. I think everything in this design can be done by the homeowner with some time and patience but I would contract out the paver walkway because over time it probably will sink if not done by a professional. I’m not saying that it can’t be done but this would be one spot I would hire a pro. Thank you for watching and thank you for the comment. 🔥

I guess you don’t have a rabbit problem…. Everything I plant (even plants they say rabbits hate) are mowed to the ground in a couple of days…. But what you have there is beautiful!
Very nice. However, I don't think the house is bland. It's has beautiful brick and stonework and nice double entry door, a nice mid-century vibe. It's hardly cookie-cutter. I like your choice of a mailbox design. It fits well. I wish I could do something like that, but it would be destroyed by the snow plows in one season :(.

I know right. At most I probably spent some money to have somebody pave that little walkway but outside of that I would do that during the weekend every Saturday I do that until we get started just take my time in doing it. Get me some Glenn Livet and sit back and chill
Plus you paid yourself in the savings along with the intangible benefit of the feeling of accomplishment. Good for you. I think his point is valid in scenarios where the DIYer has earning potential that exceeds the cost to hire it done. Or in cases where the homeowner can’t physically do the work (age, disabilities, etc.) but not in the case where I just don’t want to do it because it is hot outside..
Looks beautiful but seems pricey for a house of that size. We're doing renovations on our house and have to adhere to a strict budget based on what comps are selling for in our neighborhood.
That is usually one of my first questions when I’m working with a new client. Not for the client to put their cards on the table but for us to see what we’re working with and what we can create. You’d be surprised at how much you can get with a clever and creative designer. Thank you for watching!

first time here......he's such a cutie 🥧.....my despair at the thought that my beloved fig tree is turning my front yard into a jungle brought me here.
4:12 If you are in Ca. they are paying the homeowner from 3 dollars to 5 dollars a sq ft. to remove the lawn, so if you are lucky it will pay for this transformation. The houses in So Cal from the 50 and 60's had a Japanese influence, what you design is kinda of like that, they used a lot of juniper bushes.
@hong Phung. That's a very good point! Thank you for the comment and please keep them coming! I'd love to hear more of your thoughts in other videos!!!! :)
Everytime the mail person drives by, they will drive over those rocks and flowers. They have to get pretty close to the mailbox, so it's not a good idea to plant in front of it. Otherwise, the design is lovely.
I love your work. Respectfully, I think this video is mislabeled. Perhaps I'm wrong, but do most people think that a $3,500 DIY to $8,000 to $10,000 landscape job is "BUDGET"? Maybe I misunderstood the term you used. Adding pavement, lighting, large rock, and expanding the mulch area really add to the cost of a landscape. I was hoping for a more simple, budget-friendly design. Do you have any videos like that? Keep up the good work!
I understand where you’re coming from. I consider $3,500 budget friendly in order to transform a front yard but I’ll go back to the drawing board and see if I can come up with something around $1,500. Stay tuned. I’ll be posting new videos in the next few weeks. Needed a break❤️
Nice! Only catch MIGHT be if path lines up with sides of cars then you have to walk around the car from the driver’s side. Depends how it lines up - hard to tell from this angle. Curves for the win!!
@Toge 1 I hear that! It's always important in the planning process to plan for the future. Plenty of room to get out of cars and not mess up the beds. Nice catch! Stay tuned...lots of great videos coming! Thank you for the comment!
I did this in my front, but left the original walkway to the door, so you have two ways to get to the front door. I made the curved walkway because everyone coming over would walk across the grass to get to the door if I was parked in the driveway.
@@frenchweewee4444 Hey there! Sounds like you are definitely a hard worker and should be proud of your yard! Thank you so much for watching and I appreciate the comment.❤️
How do you deal with 2 needs: nothing close to the house that is a cover for rodents to hide behind/amongst all 6 months of winter? And to ensure that there is nothing blocking the spaces needed for the snow plough to push snow at least 15 feet from driveways to ensure that there will be room for snow all winter long....and keep in mind that in a fast melt, not near foundations or it ends up in the basement.
I would probably have to see a picture of the space. Stay tuned...I am running a contest where you can submit a photo and get a FREE design. If you haven't subbed and hit the alarm bell, make sure you do so you don't miss the announcement. :)

Thank you!👍🏼
@@BobbyKDesigns Awesome. I have your email, I will email you the full article!
The result is definitely more aesthetically pleasing, but it's also much more high-maintenance.
No tree as you step on sidewalk- one small tree is good enough. I love the bushes, especially the plants by the mail box
Hi Ginger. Thank you for watching and hopefully your daughter can have a look and get some cool ideas. See you on the next video!
Hi Bobby, thank you for speaking to middle class America. The make over is awesome!
@Dulce R-L I completely agree! I incorporate a flowering Cherry tree into almost all my designs. Beautiful!
I delivered mail, the flowers cause bees, one got in my truck went down my back , ouch ! Wonderful video.
Ouch!
absolutely. I have a garden bed next to my mailbox, but use only foliage plants at that end. I love the bees, but some people are allergic.
As someone who works in the trades, (plumber) I can appreciate the hard work that other trades do that I don’t. I’m very handy, but don’t hesitate at all to hire professionals.
The trades are definitely HARD work! I appreciate your service!
I love this and that is exactly the idea! With LANDSCAPING I truly do believe that anything is possible to up the value of your house! 🤛🏻❤️🤛🏻
What a great way to start the day!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for the comment!
Quite the beautiful redo. Impressive
Respect the hustle brother. Love the points and examples you provide. God bless you and your family.
Very beautiful tasteful design! I may use some of these ideas :)
Re money, you can budget this type of plan over a few years.
Well said! If you’re willing to be patient it all can come together over time.
What an amazing story! Congrats on doing it yourself and I’m so glad you found this video!!

Hey Nancy!
I am not a golfer, but I thought it was cool anyway.

would be nice to see another mid century type house where you not only do the front yard that's in front of the house (as you did here ) but also the lawn area on the other side of the driveway (that's most typically a narrower strip and usually adjoins a neighbor's lot and merges w/ their lawn ).....🙂
Hi Marjorie!!! That’s a great suggestion for another video. One thing that I would suggest to separate the two lawns is to create a bed in between the two properties and landscape it. That would be a way to clearly define the space and separate the two lawns.
Nice vid. Great ideas that I’ll be implementing! Thanks and keep the DIY ideas coming. 👍
@Bill Peck. You got it Bill!! Thank you for the comment!
Great video. Came looking for a couple ideas for my back yard. But this gives me a couple my for already good looking front yard. Thanks.

Thank you soooo much for these video…they are helping soooo much!
You are so welcome!!!!!
Heck yes! That's awesome! If you can find deals, it pays off big time.

@xoxopurebloodxoxo. Thank you so much for watching and the comment!!!!

Definitely worth it in the end
Plus you paid yourself in the savings along with the intangible benefit of the feeling of accomplishment. Good for you.
I think his point is valid in scenarios where the DIYer has earning potential that exceeds the cost to hire it done. Or in cases where the homeowner can’t physically do the work (age, disabilities, etc.) but not in the case where I just don’t want to do it because it is hot outside..
Looks beautiful but seems pricey for a house of that size. We're doing renovations on our house and have to adhere to a strict budget based on what comps are selling for in our neighborhood.
Are you stealing the plants and pavers? Just buying the materials alone is over 3k

Everytime the mail person drives by, they will drive over those rocks and flowers. They have to get pretty close to the mailbox, so it's not a good idea to plant in front of it. Otherwise, the design is lovely.
Thank you. I hear ya. It is a possibility. Luckily, after 3 years that has not happened. We installed this for the client and no mailman problems.👍🏼
Wow that software was sweet. What did you use to do that? Drawing lines, pulling in the plants, lights, mailbox etc... Nicely done!!
Looks like Realtime Landscaping Architect.
@@EclecticLauren thanks I found it
I love your work.
@@BobbyKDesigns Thanks for your response. It's very kind of you! Keep up the good work!
@@BobbyKDesigns Yeah I am, just wish it was more hours in the day. 🙂
Love this video. What you recommend for front lawns that are on a hill and sloped down ?
Great question! I’ll have a video coming soon for that!🫵🏻
How do you deal with 2 needs: nothing close to the house that is a cover for rodents to hide behind/amongst all 6 months of winter? And to ensure that there is nothing blocking the spaces needed for the snow plough to push snow at least 15 feet from driveways to ensure that there will be room for snow all winter long....and keep in mind that in a fast melt, not near foundations or it ends up in the basement.
I would probably have to see a picture of the space. Stay tuned...I am running a contest where you can submit a photo and get a FREE design. If you haven't subbed and hit the alarm bell, make sure you do so you don't miss the announcement. :)
@@BobbyKDesigns Sounds like fun....right up your alley!
Hi, you must be talking about west coast of Florida or somewhere expensive like that. I know for a fact here in MI that the prices for everything would be a lot less than what you said.
@Mary Wegrzyn. That's very possible. This is for the midwest market which is probably middle of the road. Thank you for watching!
Its like sims for gardenars!
Hi Bobby, thank you for this interesting video. What landscaping software do you recommend to get for this type of work in my landscaping.
