Do you have tree frogs there? Here in New Hampshire, when we hear our Peepers peep....it's time to plant the peas. This is when I seed my cool weather crops.
I grew up in NH! We do have tree frogs. They are green and almost look tropical. I remember the sounds in the summer in New England! We also have Cicadas that will start to make noise out here in the early spring. Although their sound isn't as pretty! I'll have to remember your tip and keep track of them next year!
I did plant my sweet peas and snow peas two weeks ago and they are up already. I did not inoculate them so will start fertilizing them with fish emulsion soon. We keep getting rain so the ground has been too wet to till and plant. I had hand pulled all the weeds near the cattle panels to plant the peas but wont do that for my 20'x60' food plots. I got one of those seeders at auction in Michigan about 7 years ago and ashamed to say that I have never used it! I think I will this year. Your gardens are just beautiful.
You've got try the seeder. It is a game changer! This early season is always so wet here as well. I may have some tilling in my future as well if these cover crops don't die!
Surprised you didnt plant purple hulls or Henderson butter bean. They grow really good but the stink bugs can be an issue. Im truly mind blown, you have came long way in a short time. I think you have definitely became "Master Gardener" five years in a row. Keep it up. Have a bless day.
Thank you! I did do purple hull peas, ozark razorback cowpeas, and lima beans. It was a lot of shelling! I will probably plant some dried beans once my garlic comes out and I have some space for a few more things:)
Just a suggestion but in place of the plastic zip ties to tie up your cattle panels, try using electric fence wire, around a 12-14 gauge would work. It’s longer lasting, relatively cheap and better for the environment.
It's been so wet here that we haven't had a chance to try it again. And I'm slightly paranoid that I'll blow myself up if Nate isn't here and I attempt to use it myself!

Thank God for a very supportive husband too🙏
I don't know what I would do without him!
Such a beautiful farm. I've been learning so much from your channel.
That is so wonderful to hear. I am so glad it is helping you!

Great idea! Thank you for the tip!
I think I heard that a quick wave of torch destroys cell structure and plants shrivel in a day or two. Let us know!

@@MorganHillFarms 🤣
It takes forever to burn a large area of weeds like that. Having said that, I still waste a lot of time doing it every year...
I think tilling is in my future!
