This is the first time I planted a few things for the fall. I have raised beds and two of them are covered with greenhouse plastic. I planted cabbage, broccoli and carrots in the covered ones.
We had 100 and 96 this week in VA. I had to put the shade cloth back over the brassicas. Only mid-80's today and it looks like falling temps from there. I'm actually surprised at how well the brassicas have handled August. I normally wouldnt tranpslant until the 1st week in Sept, but I did direct sowing this year.
After you soak your legumes for 4-8 hours before planting do you still treat with legume inoculant before planting in the ground? Also, thank you so much for all the info you pack into your videos. I’m sure you prepare for your videos much in the same way a teacher prepares for class.
You could definitely add an inoculant after the soaking if you want to and have some on hand. Once you drain the seeds, sprinkle the inoculant on and plant them. I am glad the videos are helpful:)
Those are from Duluth Trading Company. They're a little expensive, but super durable, comfy and long-lasting. They also have frequent sales. I wear the same brand and LOVE them.
When you first plant, you need to water them 1-2 a day for the first 2 weeks. After that, it should cool down enough that they won't need hardly any watering. Before we had irrigation, I never watered my fall plants after the initial few weeks and they all did fantastic. Hope this helps!
@@MorganHillFarms yes! That does make sense. Thanks so much for the advice, I will definitely do that. You are so amazing and I enjoy your channel so much!!! Thanks for reaching out.
Fall…my most favorite time of year! Can’t wait to see your fall garden grow, I know it will be amazing.
Me too!!

That is awesome. It really is a great season and you can keep bringing in food past the summer months
Cannot wait to see your fall garden when it is at its peak.
It definitely won't be as crazy as the summer garden. But it will be a nice break:)
Hope you feel better! Take care of yourself!
Thank you! I am much better now:)
Had to watch this as soon as it was posted (11 minutes ago :) )! Hi from Italy!
Wow! Italy! I would love to visit there someday. I bet it is beautiful. Thank you so much for saying hello!
Fall is coming fast!
Not fast enough! We hit 97 today.

Hi. Our first average frost here is September 20, and we don’t have a greenhouse, yet. So, thank you for the tip for “The Winter Harvest Handbook”. 😊🌱
It is really an eye opener when you read that book. It will open up a world of new possibilities of growing in the fall and winter months.
Great information, thank you!
You're welcome!

Just started planting fall tomatoes, beans and squash. Too hot in the summer for anything to grow but peppers.
Are you in Florida? I know they have a totally different growing season than I do!

You just inspired me to start my Fall garden. I really love your overall. Where did you get them?

@@susielansford9500 Thank you!
Definitely wait for a sale. I got the coral colored ones and the bright blue ones for around 30$ each.
To be honest. I’ve never done a fall harvest, because I wouldn’t know how to water the plants without irrigation.
