I grew up on a small farm in central Florida and raised all of our food. Many large gardens, lots of chickens, Guinea fowl, ducks, rabbits, pigs etc. we always had a years worth of food. So this is not new to me except that I got Covid seriously bad, and wound up in an assisted living for 3 years. I haven’t been able to do anything except buy a dolor generator, extra freeze dried food enough for at least 1 and 1/2 yrs. I’m so thankful that my parents always taught us to be prepared, living in Florida we have many hurricanes so I’ve always had my hurricane box. P- but butter, crackers et. Some of my family used to tease me about it but after they lost their power for awhile and the grocery was empty they now have boxes also and hopefully they’ll come around to enough food for an extended period of time.

Concerns about Norway and comparing it’s actions to the USA is like comparing apples and oranges. Norway has the sovereignty wealth fund. It’s worth about $1.6 trillion and it’s spent on the Norwegian people. Taxes are high but people willingly pay them as incomes are high and the government looks after their people, quality of life is very high and happiness levels are very high. Culturally it’s extremely different. Norwegian perspectives on tax payer money and government spending is VERY different to American perspectives. Norway spends on its people in a way Americans would never allow their own government to do for them.

Disaster after disaster in my garden this season.. this time it's mildew or some deadly fungus on all my butternut and pumpkin. Argh ..last week was the craziest infestation of ants farming aphids, never in my nearly 60 years have I seen so many aphids appear in one night! Got to keep going and keep trying.

It is discouraging but please keep trying. Every little bit helps. I do believe that I have heard about more and more people having an extremely tough year in the garden. I too am having some challenges.
